Morel's assistant came to receive Zhou Chuan and Jiang Yucheng, stating that Morel would only choose one author. They were to have a writing test, with only one day and one night. Zhou Chuan saw that Chu Li's complexion wasn't good and decided to send her back first. Gu Baizhi asked Jiang Yucheng if he was the one who left the two fish outside her room door last night.
Jiang Yucheng said she used to like small animals very much, but Gu Baizhi told him not to mention things from the past anymore. Zhou Chuan saw Chu Li coming out barefoot to pour water and quickly carried her back to bed. After she finished the brown sugar water, he coaxed her to sleep.
