Lin Dong was shocked to see Huanhuan's face had aged considerably. Huanhuan, understanding her transformation, covered her face and wept bitterly. The grand wedding was ruined. Yan Master intervened, telling everyone to leave. A Dao Sect Senior Brother attacked Lin Dong, viciously blaming him for the tragedy, shouting, "This one is for my master! This kick is for my junior! This is for Senior Wu Dao!" As Lin Dong was beaten, Qingzhu watched, her heart aching for him.

Huanhuan, clutching the red wedding fabric, was tormented by memories of Lin Dong's promises that she would have a splendid wedding and the whole world would envy her. Amidst her despair, she imagined people laughing at her, and Lin Dong, overwhelmed with guilt, departed. Qingzhu tried to reassure Lin Dong, saying Huanhuan would recover, but Lin Dong was consumed by guilt.

He confessed that his inability to kill Lin Langtian had caused Huanhuan's suffering, and vowed, "If she doesn't get better, I will keep taking care of her. . . until I also grow old like her." Shortly after, Huanhuan appeared, wielding a weapon, and seemed to no longer recognize anyone. When Lin Dong desperately called himself "Stinky Rascal," the nickname she once hated, she responded, "I don't know any stinky rascal."

He reminded her of his promise to marry her, but she simply stated, "The other Ying Huanhuan must have said those words to you. The Ying Huanhuan you're saying is already dead. I'm the Ice Master." She declared that the Ice Talisman had acknowledged its master and she intended to return to Dao Sect to train. Lin Dong wandered aimlessly, his mind replaying his memories. Qingzhu found him and urged him to go find Huanhuan.

When Lin Dong expressed remorse, Qingzhu reassured him, stating she had always regarded him as the Ancestral Talisman Successor, now and in the future. Despite Lin Dong's self-doubt, claiming he wasn't qualified, Qingzhu encouraged him, asserting that destiny had chosen him. Lin Dong, refusing to believe in destiny, declared, "I don't believe in destiny. I'm going to find her. I don't want her to become some Ice Master. I just want her to be Ying Huanhuan."

Qingzhu informed him that the Three Super Sects would soon recruit new disciples, offering a chance. She warned him of the arduous tests, noting that his cultivation had already reverted to Heavenly Yuan Rank. Lin Dong remained undeterred, proclaiming, "As long as I'm able to see her again, I'm not afraid of anything. Moreover, I, Lin Dong, have nine lives."

Meanwhile, in a forest, the Prince practiced his sword, confiding in Huangfu that he envied Lin Dong's freedom and carefree existence. Huangfu countered that Lin Dong bore heavy burdens and was merely pretending to be at ease, reminding the Prince that Wanxiang City would depend on him in the future. Inspired, the Prince resolved to become a truly strong person. Huanhuan returned to Dao Sect for cultivation. She also saw Lin Dong heading towards the ancient battlefield.

A Dao Sect Senior Brother informed Ying Xuanzi that Junior Huanhuan had once again entered the Mysterious Ice Enchantment, a pattern that had continued for many days. Inside the enchantment, Huanhuan relived the painful experience of her injury, causing her to get hurt again. Ying Xuanzi approached her, advising, "Even if your heart has obsessions, you shouldn't torment yourself like this."

Huanhuan admitted, "I still can't forget him," and asserted, "I don't regret it," but confessed, "I just feel confused when I think of the future." Ying Xuanzi offered solace, saying, "Although the two of you can't stay together in a deeply attached manner, at the very least, you two are living for the same mission." From a hilltop, Lin Dong looked towards Dao Sect, sensing that Huanhuan might be crying. Suddenly, an unknown assailant attacked him.

Lin Dong countered, demanding to know why he was attacked. The assailant, asking about the Ancestral Talisman, questioned its origin. Lin Dong explained that the Devour Talisman was the spiritual treasure of the Talisman Guild, and as its Guild President, he was merely protecting it. The assailant, surprised, recognized him, "Your name is Lin Dong?" Lin Dong, secretly pleased by his supposed fame, admitted he was.

The assailant let him go, advising that the Ancestral Talisman Successor bore a heavy duty and needed more training. Lin Dong, however, observed that the assailant used Dao Sect martial arts. The man warned Lin Dong that he might struggle to enter Dao Sect and might learn nothing even if he did, openly stating that the words "Dao Sect" disgusted him.

When Lin Dong pressed him about his conflict with the sect, the man impatiently cautioned, "If you die in the future, it probably will be because you talk too much," and ominously added, "The Yi-Demons may not be as cruel as those people you'll treat as your comrades in the future. Remember, don't trust anyone." Lin Dong, perplexed, decided not to dwell on it. Mu Qianqian expressed her distress over Lin Langtian's prolonged silence.

Lin Langtian, expressing his distress, said he had never thought Lin Dong would be so ruthless. He then confessed his profound doubt, stating he had joined Yuan Gate to personally eradicate the Yi-Demons and bring honor to the Lin Clan, but now felt he had taken the wrong path, having killed his clan chief and become a betrayer.

Mu Qianqian, assuring him of her unwavering support, declared, "No matter if it's right or wrong, and even if you're deserted by your loved ones, I will be by your side and keep accompanying you because I believe in your initial intention." She then presented him with a chance to make everyone who misunderstood him regret it. She revealed that the Dark Palace Master had taken Qingtan, and the Dark Talisman was hidden within the Dark Palace.

Mu Qianqian claimed that collecting all the ancestral talismans would bring Qingtan back and change her mind. Lin Langtian resolved, "I will go to Dark Palace! I will go!" admitting he still owed Qingtan an apology. As Mu Qianqian departed, she left a mask, which Lin Langtian picked up and put on. Mu Qianqian reported to the Demon Emperor that she had sent someone to locate the Dark Talisman and expected news soon.

The Demon Emperor, however, was more concerned about the Ice Talisman, which the Six King's Palace assured him was wielded by an ordinary practitioner who posed no threat. Angered, the Demon Emperor retorted that the Ice Master was the strongest of the eight ancient masters and the one who had inflicted his gravest injury, stressing she must not be allowed to awaken. Mu Qianqian vowed to make up for her mistake and gather all eight ancestral talismans.

The Demon Emperor, however, dismissed her, criticizing her "measly bewitching skills." Mu Qianqian retorted that her plans were far more complex. Meanwhile, Lin Dong voiced concerns that entering the Three Super Sects might not be easy. Xiao Diao and Xiao Yan began to bicker, with Xiao Diao lamenting Lin Dong's choice of the most difficult path and dragging them along, admitting he was afraid of the dangers of the ancient battlefield where few survived.

Xiao Yan, however, stood firm in his loyalty, declaring, "We are all buddies. Now that Big Brother is in trouble, we must help him." Moved by Xiao Yan's words, Xiao Diao overcame his fear and agreed to go. Lin Dong, touched, then told them, "It's enough that I go to the ancient battlefield alone. Since you two treat me as your buddy, I can't let you two take risks with me."

He also explained that the Three Super Sects did not accept spiritual beasts as disciples. He asked them to wait nearby for his news. Xiao Diao was relieved not to face the danger, but Xiao Yan remained worried for his Big Brother. Qingzhu earnestly pleaded with her Master to make an exception and accept Lin Dong into the Ninth Heaven Taiqing Palace.

Her Master, explaining that their centuries-old rule could only be broken if the "stars rotate the opposite way, and the waters of the Water Curtain of Tianhua flow in reverse," initially refused. Qingzhu, undeterred, boldly stated her intention to try, asking her Master to be her witness. Her Master agreed to break the rule if Qingzhu proved capable. Soon after, Qingzhu, apologizing, activated a powerful enchantment, trapping her Master and Senior Sister Shen Qing.

She explained that the enchantment, though temporary, would give her enough time to reach the ancient battlefield to aid Lin Dong. Shen Qing remarked that Lin Dong would only join Dao Sect, and accused Qingzhu of deceiving herself. However, the Master, recalling Yan Master's past comments about her being old-fashioned, had a change of heart.

She realized that affection and concern were crucial for a Talisman Envoy, and, seeing Qingzhu's newfound courage and conviction, decided to entrust the future of Taiqing Palace to her. Later, Qingzhu visited Huanhuan, who was still undergoing her Ice Master training. Huanhuan, seeing Qingzhu, asked why Lin Dong had come. Qingzhu challenged her, "If you still can't put him down, why must you lie to him?"

Huanhuan confessed that with her current aged appearance, she preferred Lin Dong to forget her. Qingzhu comforted her, saying, "No matter how severe an injury is, it will eventually heal." Qingzhu also reminded Huanhuan of the urgency, stating that Huanhuan had little time left as she had begun her Ice Master training. Huanhuan, seemingly in denial, retorted that the Ice Master didn't remember Qingzhu anymore, implying she wished Lin Dong would forget her too.
