Weiwei, feeling uncomfortable in a low-cut dress, asked her roommates if they could help her find something more modest. Her roommates were surprised by her sudden desire for new clothes, as she usually prioritized inner qualities. Weiwei fabricated a story about her old clothes pilling and needing a new outfit for an important interview scheduled for the next day, which was also the day of their exams.

Secretly, Weiwei knew this "interview" was her first offline meeting with Naihe, and she hoped it could change her life. She even worried about her height, wondering what she would do if Naihe wasn't very tall. As she tried on a "refreshing and neat" dress, she privately thought the fully buttoned-up look was even more alluring.

Meng Yiran and her friend happened to be shopping nearby and spotted Weiwei; while her friend expressed interest in the boutique, Meng Yiran walked away. After hastily finishing her exam, Weiwei rushed to the agreed meeting spot. She saw Xiao Nai standing under a willow tree, seemingly waiting for someone. She found him familiar and wondered who could command such a figure's patience.

She noticed him looking in her direction and rationalized that he might simply recognize her from the Computer Science Department. Deciding to be polite, she approached him and said, "Senior Xiao, what a coincidence!" Xiao Nai walked closer and responded, "It isn't a coincidence. I have been waiting for you." Weiwei was stunned, her mind reeling as she realized that Xiao Nai was indeed Naihe.

She was thankful she hadn't worn high heels, fearing she would have stumbled from the shock. Xiao Nai mentioned her early departure from the exam, and she replied that she didn't want to keep him waiting. He then invited her to lunch. The reality of Xiao Nai being Naihe felt utterly surreal to her.

Xiao Nai took Weiwei to a restaurant owned by Aunt Jiang, a woman who couldn't speak but cooked delicious food and had watched Xiao Nai grow up. He explained that his parents weren't skilled cooks, so he often ate there or at the cafeteria as a child. Aunt Jiang, delighted to see him with a girl, gestured for Weiwei to eat more. Noticing Chinese medicinal herbs in the soup, Weiwei asked about them.

Xiao Nai explained they were to help his recovery after a recent car accident. Weiwei then mentioned having taken his father's class, finding his archaeology stories interesting. Xiao Nai simply stated he knew she had once sat beside him in that class, leaving Weiwei to internally lament her seeming lack of presence.

During the meal, Weiwei felt a new distance from Xiao Nai compared to his online persona and opted to remain silent, wondering if his scholarly family had rules about quiet dining. Suddenly, Xiao Nai's phone rang with the familiar "Female Bandit and the Musician" ringtone, making Weiwei wonder if he missed being "kidnapped" in the game. It was Qiu Yonghou calling to ask if Xiao Nai was coming to the seniors' farewell basketball game that evening.

Xiao Nai told him he was on a date and would bring her along if she agreed. He then asked Weiwei if she wanted to join him. After lunch, Xiao Nai said he would retrieve his bicycle and give her a ride to the stadium. Weiwei felt awkward, expressing concern that people would misunderstand their relationship if they rode together. Xiao Nai calmly retorted, "Since when were we not in this kind of relationship?"

Weiwei's mind raced, torn between her desire for the relationship and her discomfort with such a public display. She eventually decided it was better to ride the bike quickly than to walk and face even more onlookers. Xiao Nai chuckled, remarking that her expression didn't need to be so "somber," as if she were facing death. On their way, Xiao Nai noticed Weiwei subtly trying to adjust her short skirt. Without a word, he pulled over at a supermarket.

He quickly bought a large bag of snacks and handed them to her, which Weiwei gratefully used to cover her lap. She was touched by his unexpected thoughtfulness. Upon arriving at the packed basketball stadium, Weiwei quickly made an excuse to find her roommates, promising to chat with Xiao Nai online later. His appearance at the stadium drew a flurry of attention and camera flashes.

Weiwei playfully told her roommates that Xiao Nai was looking at her, a remark that drew laughter. Her roommate, Er Xi, teased her, saying that according to a popular school forum, she and Xiao Nai were considered the "most unlikely couple." Weiwei dismissed the forum as meaningless, but her roommates elaborated on the forum's description of Xiao Nai as "graceful and elegant like a Chinese ink drawing" and Weiwei as "striking and colorful like an oil painting."

Weiwei retorted that she wasn't "oily" and that their shared major made them "IT heroes," but her friends argued that being in the same profession diminished the sense of idolization. Meanwhile, Meng Yiran's friends were convinced that Xiao Nai's glance had been directed at Meng Yiran, recalling their past interactions at a school event. The basketball game between the Computer Science and Architecture departments was intense, filled with cheers and screams.

Watching Xiao Nai's exceptional performance, Weiwei privately resolved to work even harder if they were to truly be together. After playing half the game, Xiao Nai was substituted out, and Weiwei overheard that it was due to his recent car accident, making her worry about his well-being. Xiao Nai then walked directly to the stands and, squatting beside Weiwei, informed her that he might not be online that night due to a group outing.

He asked her plans for the next day. Weiwei, momentarily speechless, finally managed to say "Studying." Xiao Nai immediately responded that he would join her. He then settled down next to her to watch the game, much to the visible fury of Meng Yiran nearby, who had been hoping for Xiao Nai's attention.
