After settling Cheng Shaoshang, Huo Buyi met with Cheng Shi and Xiao Yuanyi in a side hall, informing them of Empress Xuan’s passing. He then prepared to leave. Cheng Shi quickly called him back, scolding him for failing Cheng Shaoshang’s deep affection, while Xiao Yuanyi sighed at fate’s cruelty, saying whether they could be together again depended on how Huo Buyi would act in the future.
