Escorted by men sent by Prince Xiao, Fan Chang had already escaped to a countryside villa. He had expected to meet with Prince Yong, work together from different locations, and accomplish great things, enjoying endless glory and wealth in the future. Unexpectedly, the black-clad men intended to kill him to silence him, claiming that only with his disappearance could the secret be kept.

Upon learning that they acted on Prince Xiao’s orders, Fan Chang couldn’t help but feel regret and remorse. As the sword was about to strike, Ling Buyi appeared just in time. Because of He Zhaojun’s broken engagement, Lou Yao’s second mother had lost all face.

Now seeing Cheng Shaoshang acting so well-mannered, she was naturally pleased and invited Xiao Yuanyi to pick a date to discuss the marriage between the families.
