Chen Ting didn’t admit anything and even changed the subject to play the victim. Qin Meiyang was visibly annoyed and told her to stop. Ling Xiao stepped in to stop Qin Meiyang, but she believed that Ling Xiao actually thought the same as she did but didn’t dare to say it. Just as the atmosphere grew tense, Li Jianjian came back holding a box of local specialties she had bought for Chen Ting.
Sensing the awkward mood, Li Jianjian was about to put down the box and leave when Ling Xiao walked up and kissed her in front of Chen Ting. After Li Jianjian left, Chen Ting asked Qin Meiyang to return to the hotel with her. Qin Meiyang refused, so Chen Ting left alone.
Before leaving, she said that she had decided to settle down in China and that if Ling Xiao didn’t want to see her, then they could just stop seeing each other in the future. Ling Xiao felt extremely upset and went next door to seek comfort from Li Jianjian. Qin Meiyang also didn’t want to stay at Ling Xiao’s place anymore and ran off alone. Ling Xiao called her, but she didn’t answer. Qin Meiyang wandered the streets by herself.
That night, she ended up outside the hotel but couldn’t check in because Chen Ting had all her documents. She sat outside the hotel and even encountered a drunk man. He Ziqiu happened to be getting off work and saw her, so he stepped in to help and took her back to Li Jianjian’s home.
Li Jianjian had no choice but to take Qin Meiyang in, giving her own room to her and planning to sleep at Qi Mingyue’s place that night. The next morning, Qin Meiyang said she would stay at Li Jianjian’s home and return to Singapore on the weekend. Ling Xiao then said he had canceled his flight because he was worried about her going back alone.
Qin Meiyang wanted to cause more trouble, but Li Jianjian asked if she wanted to go with her to the wood carving studio. Qin Meiyang wasn’t interested and said she wanted to go to the café with He Ziqiu instead. Seeing this, Ling Xiao and Li Jianjian told He Ziqiu to take good care of her.
After finding out that Chen Ting planned to settle in China, Ling Heping arranged to meet her and told her about Ling Xiao’s current anxiety and insomnia. He said that thankfully, with Li Jianjian’s help, Ling Xiao had been getting better and sleeping more. When Ling Heping noticed Chen Ting looking stunned, he asked if she didn’t know about Ling Xiao’s mental health condition. Chen Ting snapped out of it and quickly said that she did.
Ling Heping continued, saying that if Chen Ting really cared about Ling Xiao’s well-being, she needed to learn to like Li Jianjian. Chen Ting wouldn’t admit she disliked Li Jianjian and just said they weren’t familiar with each other, so she didn’t know what to say. Ling Heping kept talking, but Chen Ting was too absorbed in the news about Ling Xiao’s condition to really listen.
After meeting Chen Ting, Ling Heping went to have lunch with Ling Xiao and advised him not to worry too much about Chen Ting coming back. After all, she had relatives to take care of her now, so things would be easier for Ling Xiao going forward. While He Ziqiu was busy working at the store, He Mei suddenly showed up.
He Ziqiu was surprised, but after learning the truth about the past, his attitude toward He Mei had improved a lot, and he was willing to sit down and talk with her. They chatted about Dongdong, and He Ziqiu mentioned a video he saw of He Mei eating noodles at the shop. He said many people thought Li Haichao still had feelings for He Mei, which made her a bit embarrassed. They talked for a long time.
Before leaving, He Mei gave He Ziqiu a new makeup mirror. When he opened it, he found an old photo of the two of them from his childhood inside. He Ziqiu couldn’t help but smile. That evening, Li Jianjian went to the noodle shop for dinner and even guessed that Li Haichao was texting with He Mei. She teased him a bit and said that if he wanted to find someone, she would support him completely.
Not long after, Ling Heping came back. He sent Li Haichao away and spoke to Li Jianjian privately. He said that during Ling Xiao’s birthday, he had noticed Chen Ting and Qin Meiyang treating her poorly and was worried she had been wronged. He specially comforted her and even said that if Chen Ting ever bullied her again, he would stand up for her. Li Jianjian was touched. After dinner, Li Jianjian took the bus home.
Ling Xiao had waited at the bus stop for her. They held hands and chatted on the way home. As long as he was with Li Jianjian, Ling Xiao felt much better. As soon as they got home, Tang Can came to complain to Li Jianjian, saying Qin Meiyang had snatched her remote control. Ling Xiao asked Qin Meiyang to come over and discussed with He Ziqiu that Qin Meiyang could go to the café again tomorrow, but she had to listen to He Ziqiu.
