Xiao Lanhua then asked the servants to take measurements for Jieli's wedding clothes, but Jieli refused and ran away.
Xiao Lanhua chased after her, and Jieli confessed that she had initially tricked Xiao Lanhua into buying a fake cure for her immortal root. Xiao Lanhua dismissed it, saying Jieli's lie had given her hope when there was none. While Xiao Lanhua measured Dongfang Qingcang for his wedding attire, he revealed the imminent war between the Moon Tribe and Fairies. He revealed that the Moon Tribe was outnumbered and he had lost his hellfire, making victory uncertain.
He suggested a simple wedding with few guests and implied that Xiao Lanhua, not being of the Moon Tribe, didn't have to stay. Xiao Lanhua insisted they face everything together, declaring that Cangyan Sea was her home. That night, Xiao Lanhua had a frightening dream in which Xie Wanqing warned her to run, stating that their lives were intertwined: if Xie Wanqing revived, Xiao Lanhua would die. She saw the evil spirit invade Dongfang Qingcang's body.
Waking from the dream, Xiao Lanhua called out for Dongfang Qingcang, who was battling the Tai Sui, the manifestation of his deepest desires. The Tai Sui was tempting Dongfang Qingcang to save his tribe and Xiao Lanhua. Later, Jieli secretly visited Xiao Lanhua in the flower house, confirming that her imprisonment was indeed Dongfang Qingcang's order. Xiao Lanhua begged Jieli to help her escape to see him.
Shortly after, Jieli was confronted by Dieyi, who revealed that if Jieli failed to deliver the Goddess of Xishan within three days, Shangque would die. Under duress, Jieli brought a sugar powder illusion of Xiao Lanhua to Dieyi and used "Gold Eroding Powder" to threaten to destroy the Bone Orchid while the real Xiao Lanhua slipped away with Shangque's help.
Meanwhile, Dongfang Qingcang was in his training ground, receiving reports of the Shuiyuntian army gathering and wondering if sacrificing his beloved for his people was the only choice. The Tai Sui materialized, asserting that it was the only one that could provide a "perfect solution" to save both his lover and his people. As Xiao Lanhua arrived, she noticed the evil spirit engulfing Dongfang Qingcang.
Dongfang Qingcang confessed that he had known her true identity as the Goddess of Xishan from the beginning and had feigned affection to exploit her divine power to recuperate the primordial spirit of the Chidi woman within the Bone Orchid. He coldly stated that once the Chidi woman's spirit was whole, Xiao Lanhua would perish, as the Bone Orchid would consume her life until her death. Heartbroken, Xiao Lanhua challenged him to look her in the eyes and declare that he had never loved her.
