Heavenly Emperor Run Yu visited the Demon Realm to propose an alliance with the King of Bian City, with the condition that the King collect and destroy Xu Feng's primordial spirit. Run Yu attempted to persuade the King by claiming that since Liu Ying and Xu Feng were sworn siblings, Liu Ying was like a sister to him as well, implying a close relationship. However, as the King hesitated, Liu Ying arrived and vehemently opposed the alliance.

She asserted her sworn relationship with Xu Feng, stating she would never do anything to harm him, especially after he had helped her father when he was unjustly imprisoned by the King of Gu City. Liu Ying then condemned Run Yu, accusing him of regicide and fratricide, and demanded he hand over the true culprit behind Xu Feng’s death. Run Yu, seeing the alliance fail, angrily denounced Xu Feng as a rebellious felon and departed.

Enraged by the encounter, Liu Ying went to the Demon Lord's palace, volunteering to lead the vanguard across the Wangchuan River to attack the Heaven Realm. The Demon Lord accepted her offer. Meanwhile, Jin Mi continued to torment herself with memories and shed tears over Xu Feng. Her profound grief moved the old boatman of the Wangchuan River, who secretly revealed to her a glimmer of hope.

He explained that a Phoenix is an immortal bird with seven souls and eight spirits, with one extra spirit reserved for Nirvana. If Jin Mi could find this remaining spirit and combine it with the Nine-Turn Golden Elixir from Supreme Lord Lao, there might be a chance to revive Xu Feng. Jin Mi was overjoyed by this revelation, vowing not to give up as long as there was hope.

Returning to the Heaven Realm, Jin Mi immediately sought the Nine-Turn Golden Elixir at Doushuai Palace. Supreme Lord Lao initially assumed she wanted to revive her late father, the Water Immortal, and informed her that such a feat was impossible as his primordial spirit and physical body were both lost. Jin Mi clarified that she understood her father was beyond recall and sought the elixir for a different purpose.

Supreme Lord Lao then revealed that his Nine-Turn Golden Elixir, though having undergone 20,000 years of refinement, lacked a crucial guiding ingredient: the Light of Xuanqiong from High God Lian Chao. He regretfully added that Lian Chao had long perished, making the Light of Xuanqiong impossible to obtain. Jin Mi, undeterred, declared she would find it, only to be told by Supreme Lord Lao that Lian Chao had died and vanished.

At the same time, Run Yu received an update regarding the fierce beast Qiong Qi. Immortal Tai Si reported that after Run Yu subdued Qiong Qi, the late Heavenly Emperor Tai Wei had not destroyed the beast but had instead ordered twelve seals to be placed on it in the Supreme Clarity Heaven. Run Yu then commanded Immortal Tai Si to suppress Qiong Qi in Xingjing Court for the time being.

Later that night, Jin Mi returned to her room to find Run Yu waiting for her. He asked why she had sought the Nine-Turn Golden Elixir from Supreme Lord Lao. Jin Mi evasively replied that she merely desired an elixir for self-protection, downplaying its importance. Run Yu, desiring intimacy, urged her to call him "Little Fish Fairy" as she once did, but Jin Mi maintained distance, stating that such an appellation was inappropriate now that he was Heavenly Emperor.

Though he offered to provide her with anything she wanted, Jin Mi ended the conversation, wishing him a good night. Jin Mi, heartbroken over her inability to save Xu Feng, was weeping in the Floral Realm when she encountered Dan Zhu, the Moon Immortal. She shared the secret of Xu Feng's lingering spirit and the possibility of his revival with the Light of Xuanqiong. Dan Zhu, to Jin Mi's surprise, revealed that Lian Chao, his elder brother, was actually alive.

He explained that everyone believed Lian Chao had died in the war between the Heaven and Demon Realms, but he had merely been severely injured and fallen into the Wangchuan River. Dan Zhu had secretly hidden him for healing, continuously supplying him with spiritual power for a thousand years until he finally awoke. As they discussed the plan to save Xu Feng, Yan You arrived, joining their conversation.

The trio decided to journey to Snake Mountain to find High God Lian Chao. During their discussion, Yan You inadvertently revealed Jin Mi had taken the Yun Elixir at birth, designed to sever all romantic love. Jin Mi then confessed that the Yun Elixir had shattered when Xu Feng died, allowing her to realize her true love for him. Dan Zhu, shocked by this revelation, expressed his sorrow for the late Floral Immortal's wasted efforts.

Snake Mountain was a perilous place, shunned by both immortals and demons, where spiritual power was suppressed, and ordinary spells were useless. The trio had to ascend the mountain on foot, navigating through millions of venomous snakes. Yan You's initial boast about controlling snakes proved false due to the suppressed spiritual power, and Dan Zhu quickly ran out of his Red Strings for binding. During a fierce struggle, Jin Mi was bitten by a poisonous snake.

Yan You explained that the venom of such spiritual snakes could absorb an immortal's spiritual power. With fierce determination, Jin Mi forced the poison out of her body, resolute in her mission to reach the mountain peak and save Xu Feng, despite her injured leg. Meanwhile, a subordinate of Yin Que spotted Jin Mi entering Snake Mountain and promptly reported it to Yin Que and Run Yu.

Run Yu, upon hearing the news, correctly deduced that Jin Mi had gone to seek the guiding ingredient for the elixir and, in a moment of despair, questioned her willingness to risk her life for Xu Feng. Jin Mi, Dan Zhu, and Yan You finally reached the summit of Snake Mountain, where they found Lian Chao. Dan Zhu was relieved to see his elder brother.

Jin Mi explained the predicament, informing Lian Chao of Tai Wei's death and Tu Yao's imprisonment, and pleaded with him to offer his Light of Xuanqiong to save Xu Feng, offering everything she had in return. Lian Chao, hearing Tu Yao’s name, was deeply troubled and began to reminisce about his past. He recalled how, thousands of years ago, he and Tu Yao were deeply in love.

However, during the war between the Heaven and Demon Realms, Tai Wei, in his ambition to claim the Heavenly Emperor's throne, colluded with the King of Gu City and nearly killed Lian Chao at the Wangchuan River. Dan Zhu saved Lian Chao, but he fell into a coma for many years. When he finally awoke, he discovered that Tu Yao had married Tai Wei and was pregnant with Xu Feng.

Lian Chao confronted Tu Yao, revealing Tai Wei’s treachery and pleading with her to escape with him to live a life of peace, just the two of them. Tu Yao, believing Lian Chao had died, confessed that Tai Wei had offered her warmth and the position of Heavenly Empress in her despair, and she was now carrying his child. She declared herself happy with everything she possessed. Lian Chao, heartbroken but resigned, wished her well.

Dan Zhu, having learned of this tragic history, lamented the cruel twists of fate. Lian Chao then turned his attention back to Jin Mi, asking if his Light of Xuanqiong could indeed save Xu Feng. Jin Mi reaffirmed her plea, acknowledging the unfairness of her request but reiterating her willingness to sacrifice anything for Xu Feng’s revival.
