Jin Mi and Run Yu arrived at Pixiang Hall, where the Chief had taken his own life, leaving behind a suicide note confessing to tampering with the records. Jin Mi was skeptical, finding it odd that someone fearing punishment enough to commit suicide would bother to leave a letter.
Run Yu explained that people often speak kindly when facing death, suggesting the Chief might have harbored resentment towards Xu Feng from past conflicts and deliberately altered the dream pearl's color to frame him. He added that the Chief likely felt exposed when Jin Mi came to investigate, leading to his suicide.
When Jin Mi asked how the dream pearl's color could be altered, Run Yu mentioned an ancient, forbidden text called the "Meng Tuo Jing," which reportedly contained such methods, but he claimed he had never seen it. Upon hearing these explanations, Jin Mi realized she had gravely wronged Xu Feng and fainted. In her dream, Jin Mi found herself facing the Frost Blossom, which revealed itself to be her own true self, finally free.
Waking up in tears, Jin Mi understood that Xu Feng was the one she had always loved. Meanwhile, Yin Que had bribed Que Ling, Sui He's attendant, to report on Sui He's activities. Que Ling informed him that while Sui He appeared normal during the day, she frequently ventured out at night and had once been seen near the Wangchuan River.
Yin Que then discussed his suspicions with Run Yu, suggesting that the late Heavenly Emperor might have managed to preserve a fragment of the Fire Immortal's soul before his own demise. Jin Mi, passing by, overheard this conversation and was overjoyed. She rushed to the Wangchuan River and asked an old boatman if he had seen Xu Feng's primordial spirit.
The boatman explained that the Wangchuan River was merely a ferry to the nether for mortals, and a noble god like Xu Feng, who transcended the six realms, would not have his spirit there. He grimly added that because Jin Mi's ice blade had pierced Xu Feng's fire essence, his primordial spirit could not have possibly survived. Despite this, Jin Mi, convinced she saw Xu Feng in the river, jumped in, only to be entangled and bitten by vengeful spirits.
Returning to her palace, her body covered in wounds from the vengeful spirits, Jin Mi desperately asked Run Yu if Xu Feng was still alive. Run Yu took her hand, conveying his enduring devotion and asking her to forget Xu Feng, promising she still had him. However, Jin Mi pulled her hand away, apologizing and tearfully admitting that her heart belonged only to Xu Feng.
In the Demon Realm, Sui He sought an audience with the Demon Lord (King of Gu City), offering him the Bird Clan's eternal loyalty in exchange for his help in regaining control of her clan. The Demon Lord, however, demanded Sui He herself. She refused, stating that she would have to disappoint him. He replied that in that case, he would have to disappoint her as well.
She accused him of cowardice for not daring to offend the Heavenly Emperor for the sake of the Bird Clan. After she left, the Demon Lord commented on her unyielding nature and vowed to conquer her once he unified the six realms. Sui He, feeling abandoned and without a place in the world, worried about her future.
Elsewhere in the Demon Realm, Liu Ying stopped a street vendor who was falsely claiming his magical cane contained the primordial spirit of the Fire Immortal. She questioned him, stating Xu Feng was her sworn brother and she knew his spiritual energy. Mu Ci, with Liu Ying, expressed skepticism about such claims and advised her to be cautious, as the Demon Realm was now largely under the control of the King of Gu City.
Liu Ying, however, was angered that people were using her sworn brother's name for scams and was determined to defend his honor, despite Mu Ci's pleas for prudence. Soon after, Liu Ying received an invitation from the Demon Lord. Mu Ci urged her not to go, but Liu Ying insisted on learning his true intentions. During their meeting, the Demon Lord flattered Liu Ying, praising her potential and expressing his desire to reconcile with Bian City.
He outlined the Demon Realm's two main weaknesses: the Heaven Realm and internal strife, proposing that Liu Ying lead his forces to conquer the Heaven Realm while the new Heavenly Emperor was still consolidating power. To sway her, he presented a blood-sealed document, claiming it was a pact with the late Heavenly Emperor Tai Wei, whom he alleged was the true mastermind behind the Spirit-Vanishing Clan massacre.
The Demon Lord further promised to personally arrange Liu Ying's wedding to Mu Ci if she agreed. Upon returning, Liu Ying recounted the meeting to Mu Ci, who warned her that the Demon Lord was merely trying to use her as a pawn. Mu Ci acknowledged that the Demon Lord was also culpable for the Spirit-Vanishing Clan's destruction but implored Liu Ying to abandon such conflicts, desiring only to spend their remaining years peacefully together.
In Feiluan Palace, Sui He recalled the late Heavenly Emperor's dying wish six months prior: he had sealed a piece of Xu Feng's soul within the Phoenix Hairpin and entrusted Sui He with the task of reviving him, a vow she made to fulfill, even if it meant traversing all six realms. Suddenly, Yin Que and his entourage, led by Run Yu, burst into Feiluan Palace.
Sui He confronted Yin Que, accusing him of trespassing, but Run Yu took responsibility, stating he was there to investigate accusations of her rebellious activities. They entered the inner chamber and found a figure resembling a comatose Xu Feng. Run Yu ordered Yin Que to strike the figure down, but it was revealed to be a mere bird illusion.
Sui He explained that she had merely used a bird to create an illusion of Xu Feng as a way to mourn him. She cleverly challenged Run Yu, questioning whose reputation would be more tarnished if it became known that the Heavenly Emperor could not even tolerate a symbolic gesture of grief. Run Yu, visibly annoyed, instructed her to abandon her inappropriate desires before leaving.
After Run Yu departed, Sui He furiously confronted Que Ling, accusing her of being Yin Que's informant. Que Ling retorted that Sui He's arrogant and bullying nature had alienated everyone. Sui He vowed revenge, but Que Ling revealed she had already alerted Yin Que, and if Sui He harmed her, she wouldn't be able to leave the continent. Sui He was then apprehended by Yin Que's guards but managed to escape.
In a hidden, gloomy chamber in Yu Abyss, Sui He revealed Xu Feng's true, comatose form. She swore to obtain the Nine Revolutions Golden Elixir to revive him, determined to help him reclaim his power and unite the six realms. Meanwhile, Run Yu met with the King of Bian City, proposing an alliance. His key condition was for the King of Bian City to collect and destroy Xu Feng's primordial spirit.
The King of Bian City hesitated, stating that Xu Feng had shown great kindness to him and his daughter, Liu Ying, and he could not be so ungrateful. Run Yu then pressed him, suggesting that if the King of Bian City knew Xu Feng's whereabouts, he would surely aid him. The King maintained that Xu Feng was long dead and no primordial spirit remained, especially not in the Demon Realm.
Run Yu reiterated his desire for unwavering friendship, implying that Xu Feng remained a hidden threat to their alliance and subtly hinting at Liu Ying's close relationship with Xu Feng as a point of leverage.
