Moon Immortal visited Yan You at Dongting Lake, explaining that he no longer wished to stay in the Heaven Realm, which had become as desolate and cold as Xuanji Palace since Run Yu ascended as Heavenly Emperor. He lamented the departure of Immortal Yuan Ji, who he said Run Yu had dispatched to the Human Realm to endure hardships. This was because Run Yu still harbored resentment over Jin Mi and Xu Feng's experiences in the mortal realm.
Yan You inquired about Jin Mi, but Moon Immortal expressed his deep disdain for her, calling her an ungrateful person who deserved to be harshly punished. The two discussed the mysterious self-destruction of the late Heavenly Emperor, pondering why he would take such a drastic measure. Moon Immortal speculated that the late Heavenly Emperor might have been utterly heartbroken after witnessing one son die and the other seize the throne.
He also noted that Xu Feng's Phoenix Hairpin had vanished after that day. Yan You then revealed that Run Yu was his sworn brother and Su Li was his foster mother, clarifying that he was not involved in Run Yu's ascent to the throne. He attempted to defend Jin Mi, suggesting she was not unreasonable and that Xu Feng must have committed an unforgivable act.
However, Moon Immortal grew angry, remarked that the entire world seemed blind, and declared he could no longer stay in Dongting Lake either. Privately, Yan You reflected on becoming an "accomplice" and hoped to find an opportunity to compensate Jin Mi in the future. Jin Mi arrived at the Qiwu Palace, now a desolate and sparsely visited place. She found the phoenix tree, where she and Xu Feng had shared many happy memories, withered and lifeless.
Despite her efforts, she couldn't revive it, and she broke down in tears. She felt confused, unable to reconcile her deep sorrow with her belief that she should hate Xu Feng. Moon Immortal appeared and angrily confronted her, questioning her presence in the palace after what she had done. Jin Mi, overwhelmed, confessed that Xu Feng was her father's murderer.
She explained that her father had died from Glazed Pure Fire, Xu Feng had admitted his involvement, and the Beast of Dreams' "real dream" had provided concrete evidence she had personally witnessed. However, Moon Immortal staunchly refused to believe Xu Feng was the killer, stating that he always trusted his heart over what he saw, asserting that Xu Feng could never be a murderer.
Elsewhere, Liao Ting and Fei Xu, Xu Feng's former subordinates, discovered Jin Mi had awakened and was moving freely. Seeing an opportunity for revenge, they plotted to assassinate her. Fei Xu suggested pushing her from Linyuan Terrace, but Liao Ting deemed it too conspicuous due to Heavenly Emperor Run Yu's pervasive spies.
Liao Ting proposed a more cunning plan: discover the location of Jin Mi's Internal Dan essence, then lure her to a drinking session under the guise of reminiscing, get her drunk, and stab her there to ensure her soul would scatter. Moon Immortal overheard their scheme and reprimanded them severely, warning that such a reckless act would not only lead to their demise at Run Yu's hands but also implicate him.
He questioned whether killing Jin Mi would bring Xu Feng back to life, admitting his own fleeting desire to harm her earlier but ultimately accepting its futility. He ordered them to return to the House of Marriage and live peacefully to avoid further complications. Upon returning to Xuanji Palace, Jin Mi overheard what sounded like a confession of love to Run Yu, initially mistaking the other voice for Kuang Lu. However, Run Yu's voice then called out her name.
Entering, she was confronted by a blue "real dream" projected by Run Yu, depicting him repairing her Yun Elixir. Startled and confused, Jin Mi fled the room as Run Yu entered and retracted the dream. Alone, she wondered about the Yun Elixir's presence in her body and why Run Yu had repaired it without her knowledge.
Jin Mi suspected that the intense pain and the feeling of something shattering within her after she had stabbed Xu Feng might have been related to the Yun Elixir, as depicted in Run Yu’s dream. Determined to find answers, she returned to the Floral Realm. She confided in Chief Peony about killing Xu Feng and the subsequent rupture of her Yun Elixir, pleading for the full truth.
Chief Peony examined Jin Mi and, confirming the Yun Elixir was no longer present, revealed its origins. Jin Mi's mother, Zi Fen, had administered the Yun Elixir at Jin Mi’s birth, intending to make her "break all love relations" and lead a carefree life, shielded from the suffering Zi Fen herself endured from love. Chief Peony further advised Jin Mi to cherish Run Yu's sincere devotion and embrace her destiny as the new Heavenly Empress, assuring her a prosperous future.
However, Jin Mi knelt before her mother's grave, tearfully declaring that even her mother could not deny her the right to love. She acknowledged the past foolish actions caused by the Yun Elixir and resolved that, with the elixir now broken, she could no longer avoid her true feelings or make further mistakes. Later, Jin Mi learned that Tu Yao was still imprisoned in Linyuan Terrace. She visited Tu Yao and confessed to killing Xu Feng.
Tu Yao, in a fit of rage, lamented Xu Feng's refusal to heed her warnings and his persistent questioning about Luo Lin's death. This revelation shocked Jin Mi, who suddenly realized she might have mistakenly killed Xu Feng and had wrongly accused him all along. Tu Yao defiantly stated that Jin Mi would "never know" the true murderer and refused to reveal the identity of Luo Lin's killer. Distraught, Jin Mi quickly left Linyuan Terrace.
Jin Mi sought out Moon Immortal at the House of Marriage, explaining her newfound doubts. Together, they covertly entered Pixiang Hall to examine the Beast of Dreams' dream scrolls. Jin Mi was bewildered to find that the records had changed from her previous viewing. The scroll now indicated that the Beast of Dreams had never visited Qiwu Palace that night but had remained by her side.
Moon Immortal suggested the dream might have been an "imaginary dream" born from her own suspicions. Jin Mi vehemently rejected this, recalling the dream she saw was a blue "real dream" and asserting she had no direct memory of her father’s death, making it impossible for such a dream to originate from her. Moon Immortal then speculated that someone might have deliberately tampered with the dream, transforming an "imaginary dream" into a "real dream."
This left Jin Mi in deep distress, fearing she had indeed wronged and mistakenly killed Xu Feng. Jin Mi then returned to Xuanji Palace to confront Run Yu, explaining her discovery that the Beast of Dreams' dream had been tampered with and implying his involvement. Run Yu claimed he had collected thousands of dreams to investigate the Water Immortal's death, but the late Heavenly Emperor had sealed them before he could review them.
To dispel her suspicions, he offered to summon the Chief of the Pixiang Hall, who was responsible for the Heaven Realm's archives, to clarify whether the dream was a yellow "imaginary dream" or a blue "real dream." At that very moment, Kuang Lu arrived with the news that the Chief of the Pixiang Hall had committed suicide.
It was revealed that Kuang Lu had observed Jin Mi and Moon Immortal entering Pixiang Hall, and Run Yu, already aware of their investigation, had deemed it necessary for the Chief of the Pixiang Hall to be eliminated. A suicide note was produced, confessing to altering the records and citing fear of punishment as the reason for his death. However, Run Yu, holding the note, questioned why someone genuinely fearing punishment would bother to write such a detailed confession.
