After confessing to Yu Tu and being rejected, Jingjing immersed herself in work, trying to bury her emotions and forget him. Yu Tu wasn’t doing much better; he remained gloomy, to the point where even Di Liang was worried about him before leaving. Time passed, and the New Year arrived. Jingjing, busy with schedules, sat alone in a luxurious hotel watching fireworks outside the window, her expression filled with loneliness. Yu Tu also spent New Year's Eve alone at home.

On the first day of the New Year, Yu Tu left Shanghai. Before his business trip, he went home to surprise his parents. Since he was often away, his rare visit delighted them, and they happily prepared his favorite dishes. The three enjoyed a warm family moment together. After dinner, Yu Tu returned to his room to rest. He recalled his old desktop computer from high school and pulled it out. This computer held all his high school memories.

Logging into QQ, he saw his old chat history with Jingjing, who had once messaged him as an aerospace enthusiast. He had always responded coldly, so Jingjing had joined his aerospace fan group to be closer to him. Seeing the group chat records now, Yu Tu realized that after he rejected her, Jingjing had tried hard to get into the same university as him to stand by his side. But he never noticed her efforts at the time.

Memories of Jingjing flooded back—teaching her to play games, her dream of Tsinghua University. It turned out her desire to get into Tsinghua wasn’t for her fans, but for him. Jingjing had always remembered his dream of aerospace, and while others doubted him, she had believed in him the most. In the end, he had let her down—he had hurt a girl who deeply loved him.

That evening, Yu Tu went for a walk with his mother, who asked about what was on his mind. Yu Tu told her that he had planned to resign and return to the institute. She regretted pushing him into studying finance back then and expressed her pride in him. She only hoped that he would start making choices for himself and not for them.

She also brought up the topic of marriage, wishing he could find a kind girl who didn’t need to be rich or beautiful. Yu Tu thought of Jingjing and, understanding his feelings, smiled slightly and said he liked the opposite of that. After the short break, Yu Tu flew straight from home to Dunhuang to reunite with fellow aerospace dreamers. The land was covered in vast yellow sand, where they would live for a month.
