Just as everyone thought Feng Qiwu would be the winner of this autumn’s hunt, Hei Fengxi had already ordered his guards to rush over with twenty elk, making him the one with the most game among those present. Hei Fengxi said that due to being ill for a long time, he had become half a doctor, and while studying medicine, he happened to learn that the juice of the blue-tailed flower could temporarily tame wild beasts.

Since he could not bear to kill, he resorted to this last-resort method and presented it with a poem, expressing his wish to hunt on behalf of his father. When Feng Qiwu returned home, she instructed her family elders to go to the Fountain Abode and purchase intelligence regarding Feng Lanxi. Madam Baili took the opportunity to win the Lord’s favor and soon gave birth to Third Prince Feng Ju, thereby being promoted to consort. Poor Feng Lanxi had to pretend to get along with Madam Baili while working hard in secret, enduring for three years. On the other hand, Feng Wutong had already made a move, so Hei Fengxi naturally wouldn’t sit idly by. He had Zhongli send her a message, arranging to meet the next day at noon at the White Cloud Pavilion. Bai Fengxi and the others followed their master and arrived in Jizhou before Duanhun Sect. The best strategy now was to set a trap to lure the enemy in.

Since it involved a larger plan, the Ma family’s cooperation was essential to stop Duanhun Sect’s scheme. With Bai Jiande’s approval, Bai Fengxi personally visited and revealed to the clan leader, Ma Mengqi, the true purpose behind Duanhun Sect’s slaughter of the four great sects—it was to gather the four supreme arts of war, medicine, formations, and horses to secretly build an unrivaled army and seize the world.

Ma Mengqi had thought that the conflict among the Han, Tie, and Xuanyuan families was just martial rivalry, but upon learning it involved national power, he readily agreed to work with the Tianshuang Sect from within and without. Since the hunting competition, Eldest Prince Feng Chang had not seen his younger brother, so he went to confront him, upset that he had intentionally kept secrets, and worried that Feng Ju’s jealousy might lead him to harm him.

Hei Fengxi knew his brother’s concern came from a good place, so he patiently explained his reasons and personally offered a gift of apology, restoring their relationship. Feng Qiwu arrived at the White Cloud Pavilion as agreed and indeed saw the Second Prince she had been longing for. Compared to the submissive image he projected in public, he now appeared more genuine and confident, exuding a completely different aura.

Thus, Feng Qiwu opened up to Hei Fengxi, using the story of Sima Xiangru as a metaphor, willingly likening herself to Zhuo Wenjun, pledging to support him. Hei Fengxi responded in kind, officially forming an alliance with her. Thanks to the Tianshuang Sect’s planning, they successfully ambushed the assassins from Duanhun Sect at Mawang Fort, avoiding a massacre.

However, Bai Fengxi believed that since Duanhun Sect had not achieved its goal, they would not give up easily and would likely return with even stronger agents. The Tianshuang Sect needed to remain stationed at the fort. Zhongli reported to Hei Fengxi that the mysterious Ten Yama Kings of Duanhun Sect had sent six members to Mawang Fort, expected to arrive within three days. Very little was known about the Ten Yama Kings due to their secretive nature.

All that was known from the Fountain Abode was that one of them, called "Chujiang," had once single-handedly killed five top masters from the Mingyue Manor and escaped unharmed. Concerned for Bai Fengxi's safety but unable to leave, Hei Fengxi deliberately angered the Lord of Yongzhou during court, prompting him to issue a punishment of house confinement for half a month. Feng Ju was delighted by this, unaware that Hei Fengxi had done it on purpose.

After court, the Lord of Yongzhou visited Lanxi Manor again, saying he had reconsidered and thought there was some merit in Hei Fengxi’s statements. The Lord of Yongzhou hoped Hei Fengxi would recover soon so he could assign him an important role. However, Hei Fengxi politely declined by citing poor health. The Ren brothers were puzzled by this, but Hei Fengxi had his own plan.

He knew that his father was always suspicious, regardless of his sons' abilities, and didn’t want them eyeing the throne too soon. Sun Si was ordered to inform Bai Fengxi that Duanhun Sect had already sent experts, and Hei Fengxi asked him to relay a message urging her to be cautious. Bai Jiande was seriously injured after being distracted out of concern for his daughter. Meanwhile, Ma Mengqi and others were also wounded one after another. Seeing this, Bai Fengxi urged them to leave quickly while she stayed behind to face the enemy alone. Fortunately, at the critical moment, Hei Fengxi descended from the skies. Seeing Bai Fengxi injured, he flew into a rage and killed three enemies in a row. The last Yama King was also slain by the sword of Yu Wuyuan.
