Mai Chengzao wanted to fight for Ding Ding’s custody and planned a parent-child event at Xing'anli Hotel to improve Mao Yongxin and Ding Ding’s relationship. He also intended to propose to Mao Yongxin at the event. Mai Chenghuan was happy for him and agreed to help with the arrangements. When Mai Chenghuan returned home alone, Liu Wanyu was disappointed that Mai Chengzao still hadn’t come back.

Mai Chenghuan told her not to worry — he just wanted to sort things out before returning. Mai Chenghuan also told her everything about how Mai Chengzao had taken up food delivery work after quitting his job. Liu Wanyu was deeply moved, realizing how much pressure he had silently endured. He Dong advised him to focus on performance to avoid accountability from headquarters, but Yao Zhiming was determined. Living under the same roof, Yao Zhiming and Mai Chenghuan grew closer. Zhang Ziyu returned home to give Zhang Peisheng an invitation to the event. When Zhang Peisheng found out she was working at Xing'anli, she exploded with anger and yelled at Zhang Ziyu. Zhang Ziyu finally let out all the grievances she had bottled up for years.

Comparing Zhang Peisheng to Liu Wanyu, the two clashed fiercely and parted on bad terms. Mai Chenghuan handed the event arrangements over to Fang Da. He led hotel staff to set up the venue on the lawn. Liao Gang was sluggish and complained non-stop. When the steel frames Fang Da had ordered didn’t arrive on time, Liao Gang offered to help by replacing them with wooden frames.

Zhang Peisheng learned about Yao Zhiming upgrading the room systems and stripped him of all his permissions. He Dong was anxious, but Yao Zhiming had anticipated this and wanted to see how Zhang Peisheng would explain herself at the video meeting with headquarters. The parent-child event took place as scheduled. Zhang Ziyu arrived early, ready to take photos of the children. Zhang Peisheng was late, disappointing her. Yao Zhiming brought He Dong to the video meeting.

Zhang Peisheng complained to Amber, but Yao Zhiming had already secured hosting rights for the autumn SCO summit. By sacrificing a month’s performance to upgrade the hotel's smart systems, he brought in three years of profits. Amber fully supported Yao Zhiming’s decision. Zhang Peisheng, unaware of all this, had no choice but to return his permissions.

Due to the weather, the steel frame couldn’t be delivered, so Liao Gang told him to use wooden ones instead. Unexpectedly, the weather changed suddenly. Fang Da apologized repeatedly. Yao Zhiming was appointed President of the East China region, and He Dong cheered with joy.

At the meeting, Mai Chenghuan announced the termination of cooperation with Fang Da and fired Liao Gang. Liao Gang refused to accept it. Mai Chenghuan publicly exposed him for replacing steel frames with wooden ones for personal gain and taking kickbacks. Liao Gang denied everything and argued self-righteously. Mai Chenghuan ordered him to go through the resignation procedures. Enraged, Liao Gang splashed a glass of water in her face. Butler Cui had someone drag him out.
