Mai Chenghuan and Liu Wanyu had a falling out, and Mai moved out of the house. She paid a renovation team to work on the place, but Liu Wanyu, still angry, drove them away in a fit of rage. She would rather make do in a dilapidated house than accept Mai Chenghuan’s financial help. Even Mai Laitian’s desperate persuasion was of no use. Maomao heard from Mai Chenghuan that Mai Chengzao was delivering food.

She dragged him away and took him to the mall to buy clothes, encouraging him to cheer up and look for a job at a suitable law firm. Unable to refuse her kindness, Mai Chengzao tried on a suit. Maomao’s eyes lit up, and she repeatedly praised how handsome he looked. Embarrassed, Mai Chengzao blushed. Maomao helped him tie his tie, and Mai Chengzao was so nervous he didn’t dare look at her.

Without another word, Maomao bought the entire outfit. Zhu Baoqiao and Xin Zhishan’s affair was exposed to the public. Xin Zhishan suffered another stroke and became partially paralyzed. Ashamed, Zhu Baoqiao couldn’t stay in the apartment and packed her things to leave Shanghai. Mai Chenghuan sympathized with her, and Zhu Baoqiao confessed that she wasn’t actually pregnant. She had used that as an excuse to pressure Xin Zhishan into getting a divorce, but everything ended in a mess.

Mai Chenghuan advised her to take care of herself and even called a taxi for her. Maomao, inspired by Mai Chengzao, designed a necklace. She hoped it would become a hit and promised to thank Mai properly. Mai Chengzao ran into a senior from his law firm, who told him about the Xin family’s situation: Xin Jialiang was in a slump, Xin Jiali and Luo Mingli were getting divorced, and the company was now fully managed by Chen Dejing.

The senior had also left Fangyuan Law Firm and invited Mai Chengzao to join his team. Yao Zhiming mentioned the Xing’anli Hotel to Chen Shuzhen, but she avoided the topic, leaving him disappointed. In the hallway of the apartment, he ran into Mai Chenghuan, who teased him about wearing suits every day and his boring shirt colors. Yao Zhiming was at a loss for words, and He Dong couldn’t resist joking about him.

Not seeing Mai Chenghuan for days, Mai Chengzao asked Maomao about her. Maomao then called Mai Chenghuan and invited her to dinner. Yao Zhiming also wanted to invite her to dinner to share some good news—he wanted her to join the Phase II management team of the apartment complex—but Maomao got to her first. Yao Zhiming specially changed into a T-shirt and took He Dong to the restaurant where Mai Chenghuan was eating.

She invited them to share the table, and Yao Zhiming gladly accepted. After dinner, he walked Mai Chenghuan back to the senior center and invited her to join the Phase II apartment management team. Mai Chenghuan was very happy. Liu Wanyu couldn’t eat or sleep and was visibly depressed, which worried Mai Laitian. Meanwhile, Mai Chengzao officially joined his senior’s legal team and was enjoying fulfilling days.

Liu Wanyu personally made shepherd’s purse dumplings, Mai Chenghuan’s favorite, and Mai Laitian delivered them. Mai Chenghuan gave her month’s salary to Mai Laitian. As she ate the familiar-tasting dumplings, she was overwhelmed with emotions. Maomao advised her to make peace with Liu Wanyu soon, but Mai Chenghuan wanted them both to cool down a bit first. Song Huaimin went to Maomao’s store, accusing her of plagiarizing his designs. Mai Chenghuan angrily scolded him.

Song Huaimin went as far as suing Maomao. Mai Chengzao volunteered to defend her, and Mai Chenghuan planned to create an independent brand for Maomao. That night, she stayed up late working on the plan. Unable to sleep, Chen Shuzhen offered her advice. Today is the weekend. Yao Zhiming came early to visit Chen Shuzhen. Mai Chenghuan was still sound asleep, and Yao took a photo of her sleeping.

When she woke up and found out, she retaliated by threatening him with an embarrassing photo of him drunk. Chen Shuzhen had to step in to mediate and asked Yao to help Mai Chenghuan with some ideas. Yao Zhiming took Mai Chenghuan out for breakfast and carefully reviewed her design proposal. He suggested designing a gift package for Botticelli, which immediately inspired her. She skipped breakfast and went to discuss it with Maomao.

Yao Zhiming had hit a wall with Chen Shuzhen regarding the Xing’anli Hotel. Zhang Peisheng visited Chen Shuzhen to discuss the collaboration, but she wasn’t interested. When Zhang mentioned Yao Zhiming, he happened to be delivering breakfast and overheard the conversation from outside. He rushed in and pulled Zhang out. Only then did Chen Shuzhen realize that Yao and Zhang were working together on the Xing’anli Hotel. Yao Zhiming warned Zhang Peisheng not to rush things.

Zhang mocked him in return. Later, Yao returned to the senior center and found that Chen Shuzhen had collapsed in the bathroom. He rushed her to the hospital. Meanwhile, Song Huaimin returned the luxury item Maomao designed without even opening the packaging and left a bad review on purpose. Furious, Maomao wanted to sue him. Mai Chenghuan advised her to use public opinion to pressure Song.
