Yu Jingqiu confided that she had lost an important item but couldn't remember where or when. Dongbo Xueying comforted her, offering to help her search once she recalled the details. He also shared his own progress, mentioning he had just sparred with Situ Hong and his spear technique had advanced, which he now called the Changfeng Flying Snow Spear Technique. Yu Jingqiu acknowledged Situ Hong's skill and noted he wasn't as arrogant as he appeared.
They then agreed to go to the practice field so she could witness his new skills. Seeing them leave together, Kong Youyue, who had come to find Dongbo Xueying, decided not to approach, feeling it would be awkward. Instead, she planned to wait for Yu Jingqiu and confront her, hoping to catch her in a lie about her whereabouts.
However, when Kong Youyue questioned her, Yu Jingqiu frankly admitted to being with Dongbo Xueying at the practice field, surprising Kong Youyue with her honesty. During a class with a new instructor, Master Xiaoxi, students were asked to demonstrate their unique skills. Dongbo Xueying showcased his spear technique, while Yu Jingqiu impressed everyone by magically turning scattered petals into exquisite ice flowers. Kong Hao’s attempt to demonstrate his "Flying Seal" invention failed, drawing ridicule from classmates.
To restore her family's honor, Kong Youyue displayed her remarkable mental calculation ability, correctly calculating the falling sequence of over a thousand petals, a feat she claimed surpassed their family accountant. Master Xiaoxi explained that Kong Youyue's talent could be developed into the Inner Sight Technique, an advanced skill that allows a user to perceive an enemy's attack vectors and timing to aid teammates.
Puyang Bo then demonstrated his exceptional speed, stating his main tactic was to flee when outmatched, a practical skill that Master Xiaoxi also acknowledged as valuable. Situ Hong, however, claimed to have no unique skill and boldly challenged Master Xiaoxi to a duel to gauge the gap between them. Dongbo Xueying observed that Master Xiaoxi suppressed her Dou Qi to the Meteor Level but effortlessly handled Situ Hong using the advanced Change Mystery.
After the spar, Master Xiaoxi praised Situ Hong's solid fundamentals and encouraged him. The display of power made Dongbo Xueying more determined to train harder to save his mother. After class, Kong Youyue tried to get closer to Dongbo Xueying, offering to wash his clothes and showing concern for his well-being, but he maintained a polite distance. Dejected after seeing him practicing with Yu Jingqiu again, she sought advice from Puyang Bo.
He cheekily suggested that while Yu Jingqiu was better at fighting, Kong Youyue was better at making soup, and she could win Dongbo Xueying's affection through his stomach. Meanwhile, Kong Hao asked Situ Hong for advice on his Flying Seal, and Situ Hong pointed out that its power source was unstable. During their conversation, Kong Hao mentioned his sister's now-void arranged marriage to Dongbo Xueying, calling him a "brother-in-law," but noted that Dongbo Xueying and Yu Jingqiu seemed more like a real couple.
Si Borong overheard and complained that Dongbo Xueying was getting all the attention, suggesting Yu Jingqiu would be a better match for his brother, while he could "settle" for Kong Youyue. Situ Hong sternly rebuked him for the inappropriate remarks. Later that night, Kong Youyue used a new mind-reading seal from her brother on Dongbo Xueying.
The device, which reveals a person's thoughts as Dou Qi, showed his mind was solely occupied with his spear technique and his home, Snow Stone Fort, confirming to her dismay that she held no place in his thoughts. Elsewhere, Si Borong attempted to confess his feelings to Kong Youyue, but in the dark, he mistook Senior Lanxin for her. Upon realizing his error, he fled in embarrassment as a surprised and annoyed Lanxin chased after him.
In another class, the students learned the technique of Flying on Object. The instructor warned that controlling it in turbulent air, especially during combat, was difficult. During practice, Kong Youyue lost control and nearly collided with Yu Jingqiu, but Dongbo Xueying swiftly intervened to protect her. Shortly after, the academy was ambushed by figures disguised as demons. While most students fought back, Si Borong and Kong Hao hid.
Dongbo Xueying quickly deduced it was a drill, noting the attackers lacked demonic energy, avoided vital points, and recognized the leader’s signature Wind Blade technique as belonging to their senior, Cui Yong. Cui Yong confirmed it was a surprise exercise and praised Dongbo Xueying's perception and Situ Hong's decisive fighting. Situ Hong expressed regret for being too focused on combat to notice the signs. An announcement for the annual Dragon Mountain Empire Weapon Fair in Fragrance Ancient Town was made.
Dongbo Xueying initially declined to go, but when Yu Jingqiu mentioned she was going to search for something possibly related to her parents, he immediately changed his mind and offered to accompany her. Seeing this, Kong Youyue also decided to join, and the group set off together. In a secret location, Lu Huairu reported to a gray-robed elder that the final shipment of one hundred thousand source stones had arrived.
Swearing loyalty, Lu Huairu expressed his desire to become a true demon, not to gain power or status. The elder praised him, gave him a demon pill to prolong his life, and instructed him to execute their plan during the Weapon Fair, using the large crowds as a diversion. At the fair, Yu Jingqiu searched for her lost item in vain. Dongbo Xueying spotted suspicious figures disguised as humans and pointed them out to her.
Suspecting they were demons, they followed the figures into the mountains. During the ensuing fight, Dongbo Xueying was lured into a teleportation array and vanished. Just as a distressed Yu Jingqiu cried out, the others arrived. She explained what happened, and while Si Borong made a dismissive comment, Situ Hong silenced him and vowed to help search.
As they tried to figure out their next move, a strange piping sound echoed through the area, which Yu Jingqiu recognized with dread from her encounter in the Destruction Mountain Range.
