The Great Demon God received a report from his demons in the Dark Abyss, who had located a new site for the Demon Well in Xueying Territory. This location, where the first ray of sunlight would fall after a lunar eclipse, marked the weakest point connecting the three realms. Pleased, the Great Demon God declared his comeback plan was advancing.
He ordered Ao Lan to assemble the demon forces and proceed to Xueying Territory with source stones, and also instructed that it was time to activate the Third Priest, Ji Rong, who acknowledged the order. Dongbo Qingshi was practicing late at night when he spotted a fleeting shadow. As he was about to investigate, Ji Rong appeared and dismissed his concern, suggesting he was merely tired and seeing things.
Shortly after, Dongbo Qingshi was overjoyed by the arrival of his brother, Dongbo Xueying, along with Zong Ling and Tong San from Snow Stone Fort. Later, Ji Rong expressed sadness to Dongbo Qingshi, worried that his brother's return would separate them. Qingshi immediately invited her to Xueying Territory, calling her his best friend and like family. Ji Rong feigned hesitation, suggesting she was an outsider and that Dongbo Xueying might not agree.
A determined Qingshi went to his brother, who was discussing plans with Zong Ling and Tong San and noted that having an outsider around might be inconvenient. Qingshi insisted that Ji Rong was someone he liked and trusted, and no longer an outsider. Meanwhile, Situ Hong and other elders arrived at the residence of Bai Yuanzhi.
When Xueying introduced himself, Bai Yuanzhi recognized him as Moyang Yu's son, remarked on his powerful aura, and connected him to the large crack at Black Wind Cliff, suggesting few others could have caused it. Situ Hong pressed Bai Yuanzhi, accusing him of being Dugu Ling, a master who disappeared twenty years ago, and demanding he prove his identity. Bai Yuanzhi refused, stating he had been in seclusion.
When Situ Hong grew aggressive, Bai Yuanzhi trapped the group in a protective barrier. Master Tai Shu failed to break it alone, but Dongbo Xueying noticed multiple critical points in the formation. He suggested that Master Tai Shu and Sikong Yang attack from the front and back simultaneously, which successfully shattered the barrier. Once free, Situ Hong demanded to know the whereabouts of Si Borong and other missing disciples, but Bai Yuanzhi refused to answer.
When Xueying sought clarification on the remark about his mother, Bai Yuanzhi simply said that Moyang Yu had a good son. The elders decided to imprison him until he confessed, though Sikong Yang argued against it, stating that imprisoning a great mage without evidence would tarnish the council's reputation.
At an alchemy workshop, Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo overheard workers complaining about a rushed order for weapons and a lack of Blood Spirit Stones, confirming their suspicion that the wealthy Moyang family was forging Bloodshed Weapons. They infiltrated Moyang's Fort, where Kong Youyue used a disguise to distract the guards. Inside, they found Moyang Chen's secret cultivation chamber filled with scripts for a secret technique, which Kong Youyue copied.
Using her Inner Sight Technique, Kong Youyue then spied on Moyang Chen confronting his captive sister, Moyang Yu. He threatened her son's life to force her to reveal the secret of the Ancient Bloodline, but she defiantly refused. Kong Youyue was stunned to learn that Moyang Yu was Dongbo Xueying's mother and relieved that he was still alive. She and Pu Yangbo decided to leave quickly to report their findings.
Held in detention, Bai Yuanzhi was confronted by Situ Hong, who pleaded for information on the missing Changfeng disciples, one of whom was his cousin. Distressed, Bai Yuanzhi lashed out and knocked him unconscious. Sikong Yang then entered, and Bai Yuanzhi recognized him as his junior brother from the Water Daoist Temple. Bai Yuanzhi confessed that he had been infected with demonic poison during a battle with the Great Demon God, which had slowly turned him into a half-demon.
He had endured years of suffering and asked Sikong Yang to keep his condition secret to protect the temple's reputation. Sikong Yang noticed that Bai Yuanzhi's cultivation had caused his life-sustaining energy channels to close, placing him in mortal danger if not treated immediately. As they were leaving, Situ Hong reappeared and accused Bai Yuanzhi of being a half-demon.
Sikong Yang sternly refuted the claim, vouching for Bai Yuanzhi on behalf of the Water Daoist Temple and using the need for urgent medical treatment as a reason for his release. Dongbo Xueying and Qingshi returned to Xueying Territory. Xueying explained to Zong Ling and Tong San that his Transcendent power felt unstable, only manifesting during near-death experiences.
He decided to return to Changfeng Academy for the Transcendent Trial to stabilize his abilities and gain the strength to rescue his mother. Qingshi wanted to join him, but Xueying insisted he remain to oversee their territory. That night, Ji Rong brought Qingshi soup and manipulated him into believing that by staying, he was providing his brother with the peace of mind needed to face the trial. The next day, Yu Jingqiu saw Ji Rong furtively searching for something.
Ji Rong claimed to have lost an earring, but Jingqiu noticed she was already wearing a pair. Suspicious, Jingqiu reported the incident to Xueying. Later, while at the market, a man named Ji Wuhai caused a scene, claiming to be Ji Rong’s estranged, gambling-addicted father. After Ji Rong paid his debts, she explained to the others that he was indeed her father, but his addiction had caused her mother’s death, leaving her feeling orphaned.
Before departing for the academy, Xueying privately warned Qingshi to be cautious around Ji Rong. He then tasked Zong Ling and Tong San with watching over the naive Qingshi. Shortly after, Ji Rong fell from her horse, claiming to be too injured to travel. Qingshi insisted she stay at Snow Stone Fort to recover, an offer she accepted as Zong Ling watched her with a scrutinizing gaze.
After returning to Changfeng Academy, Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo reported Moyang Chen's practice of demonic techniques to the council leader, He Yuan. Enraged, He Yuan vowed to kill Moyang Chen himself. Tipped off, Moyang Chen killed a subordinate who had offered to take the blame, then presented the body to He Yuan as the confessed traitor. He defended his imprisonment of Moyang Yu as a family matter and denied any wrongdoing.
He Yuan denounced Moyang Chen's unscrupulous methods and expelled him from the Black White Deity Mountain permanently. Moyang Chen departed, swearing revenge. Later, Dongbo Xueying discussed his plan to rescue his mother from Leichao Sea Cliff with Yu Jingqiu. He felt confident about overcoming the formations and guards, using information from Kong Hao and his own prior experience. Kong Youyue and Pu Yangbo offered to help, but Xueying refused, deeming it too dangerous. Yu Jingqiu, however, insisted on accompanying him, saying she would worry too much if he went alone. Dongbo Xueying gratefully accepted her help.
