Qin Shi’s mother brings her favorite food, pig brain, to visit her, but Qin Shi is working overtime. So, her mother makes the dish for Yang Hua instead. Though Yang Hua doesn’t like it, he praises it and eats it anyway. Learning that Yang Hua is proactively working and planning to buy a house makes Qin Shi’s mother very happy. She tells them to focus on work while she handles things at home.
Qin Shi confides in Tao Junhui that she has been striving for a position on the 11th floor for two years. Although Jin Cheng is her direct supervisor, she rarely gets to meet him. She wants to learn more and asks Tao Junhui to let her work on cases with him. Tao agrees but assigns her multiple contract disputes—logistics, construction, and equity—and demands she prepare analytical reports on them by the next day.
Tao Junhui has dinner with his mother, who asks about his house hunting. Tao says properties in good locations are too expensive and that he’s still looking. Tao’s mother regrets giving the house he and Qin Shi bought together to Qin Shi and advises him to keep his distance from her at the firm and to cherish Wu Fei, a girl from a good family with a kind nature.
Wu Fei’s father also wants her and Tao Junhui to sign a prenuptial agreement, but Wu Fei insists that she and Tao are truly in love and refuses. Mr. Wu immediately calls Tang Yihui, who had already anticipated Wu Fei’s reaction. Tang assures him that he will get the result he wants. Jin Cheng asks Tang about her plans for Qin Shi.
Tang replies that she’s not trying to suppress Qin Shi—just trying to discipline her before she formally enters the corporate department. Yang Hua prepares dinner and personally delivers it to Qin Shi at the firm. Tao Junhui returns to work and, seeing Qin Shi asleep from exhaustion, drapes his coat over her. Yang Hua happens to witness this as he arrives, wakes Qin Shi, and takes her away. On the way back, Yang Hua remains silent.
Sensing his displeasure, Qin Shi explains that Tao Junhui was transferred in and she never got the chance to tell him. Yang Hua feels sorry for Qin Shi, who now works in the archive room, believing all her suffering stems from hiding her ambition. Qin Shi disagrees but avoids arguing. She assures Yang Hua that she has no feelings for Tao Junhui anymore and is now focused solely on gaining more case experience.
Yang Hua is bothered that Tao Junhui still seems interested in Qin Shi and is even more upset when she acknowledges Tao’s excellence and pride. He consults his pet turtle to make a decision out of jealousy. Refusing to help Qin Shi with data analysis, he insists she choose between him and Tao Junhui to see who’s better. The next day, Yang Hua discusses this with Cai Liang at work but is shocked to see Qiu Jianxiang at the bank.
Cai Liang explains he didn’t mean to hide it—he only recently learned that Qiu Jianxiang was working with the bank. Concerned that Yang Hua might quit because of this, Cai is relieved when Yang Hua says he still plans to work for at least six months to save for a house.
