Rush to the Dead Summer Episode 8 Recap
> Rush to the Dead Summer Recap
Fu's father earnestly recounted to Fu Xiaosi the budding experiences of how he and Fu's mother met, got to know each other, and fell in love. When Fu's mother was young, she was pursued by many, while he himself was poor and had nothing. However, with his persistent efforts and meticulous care, he slowly captured Fu's mother's heart. They have been together for over twenty years since they first held hands, enduring hardships, and supporting each other.
Although there were bumps along the road, both of them upheld a forgiving spirit, walking hand in hand to this day. Fate will always favor those who work hard. Even two seemingly impossible parallel lines will eventually intersect at a certain moment, in a certain space, and will never separate again. Fu Xiaosi looked at his father, as if he was reacquainting himself with the father who had been with him for over twenty years.
His father's face bore the marks of time, yet still showed the loving kindness a father should possess. He realized for the first time that every relationship is like quicksand and a small stream, constantly changing shape amidst continuous collisions. Fu's father cancelled his work at the office and rushed with Fu Xiaosi to find Fu's mother, asking her to come home. Accompanied by Fu Xiaosi, Fu's father found Fu's mother, who was sitting alone in the park sulking.
Fu's father softened his stance and admitted his mistake to Fu's mother. The worries between Fu's mother's brows eased, and a smile appeared on her face. Seeing his parents reconcile, Fu Xiaosi also felt very sweet, and the home returned to its usual harmony and warmth.
When young, parents always seem invincible in a child's heart, but only when one truly touches the softest part of their parents' hearts does one discover that parents also have a tender and vulnerable side. The leisurely winter holiday time flew by, and the school regained its usual liveliness and vigor. Classmates were excitedly sharing their little winter holiday lives. Li Xia and his roommates were walking in the corridor, when Lu Zhiang and Fu Xiaosi approached, looking cheerful.
The roommates had infatuated expressions, while Li Xia appeared calm. Li Xia and Lu Zhiang chatted enthusiastically, with Li Xia persistently pestering Lu Zhiang to get back his photos. The two played around with each other, completely disregarding Fu Xiaosi's presence. Fu Xiaosi recalled the increasingly intimate scenes of Li Xia and Lu Zhiang, masking the sadness in his heart, and walked away indifferently by himself.
Teacher Wen Ren gathered the whole class for a meeting to announce new semester affairs, and reminded Li Xia, Fu Xiaosi, and Lu Zhiang to meticulously prepare for the art festival. Teacher Wen Ren told the classmates that Chen Wenjing had transferred to another school. Faced with Chen Wenjing's sudden departure, everyone fell into a low mood. The roommates missed the joyful times spent with Chen Wenjing.
Now that one person was suddenly missing from the dormitory, the roommates were all unaccustomed to it. Cheng Qiqi meticulously prepared gifts for Li Xia and the other two. Lu Zhiang, curious about Fu Xiaosi's gift, suggested exchanging with him. However, Cheng Qiqi had her own thoughts and firmly disagreed to Lu Zhiang swapping Fu Xiaosi's gift. Lu Zhiang told Cheng Qiqi that he and Fu Xiaosi had stayed overnight at Li Xia's home on New Year's Eve.
Cheng Qiqi was displeased and kept questioning Lu Zhiang. Lu Zhiang urged Cheng Qiqi to focus her mind on the art festival program. However, Cheng Qiqi got angry at Lu Zhiang. She blamed everyone for not seeing her sorrow and ignoring her true feelings. Cheng Qiqi felt greatly wronged. Li Xia invited Fu Xiaosi to go to the art studio to practice drawing together, but Fu Xiaosi had already accepted Li Yanran's invitation.
Seeing Fu Xiaosi's back as he turned and left, Li Xia's mood sank to rock bottom. Fu Xiaosi and Li Yanran went over the gala hosting script, but Fu Xiaosi appeared distracted and disoriented. Li Yanran asked Fu Xiaosi not to be so cold towards her and to disregard her good intentions. Fu Xiaosi didn't want to see Li Yanran sad, so he perfunctorily agreed to her request. Fu Xiaosi drove Li Yanran past the girls' dormitory.
A roommate, Song Feifei, however, witnessed Li Yanran sitting in the back seat hugging Fu Xiaosi, and could hardly believe her eyes. Song Feifei quickly rushed into the dormitory to tell Li Xia the news. Li Xia was indifferent, but when he heard the news about Li Yanran and Fu Xiaosi hugging, the tip of the pen in Li Xia's hand suddenly stopped.
His heart felt as if it had been heavily struck, and his mind went blank, yet he still had to pretend to be unfazed and unconcerned. Fu Xiaosi called a car for Li Yanran to send her home. Li Yanran was speechless at Fu Xiaosi's dullness, yet he remained the person she most desired in her heart. Cheng Qiqi was sulking with Lu Zhiang. Lu Zhiang came to invite Cheng Qiqi to rehearse the program, but Cheng Qiqi ignored him.
To appease Cheng Qiqi, Lu Zhiang, disregarding his image, made funny faces outside her classroom door. Cheng Qiqi played a trick on Lu Zhiang, deliberately asking him to buy sanitary pads for her. Lu Zhiang kept trying to cover them up along the way, looking utterly embarrassed. Seeing Lu Zhiang's sincere apology, Cheng Qiqi finally beamed with smiles and forgave Lu Zhiang's unintentional mistake.
Li Xia excitedly brought the painting he had worked hard on the previous night to Fu Xiaosi to ask for his opinion. Fu Xiaosi didn't even want to look at it and threw Li Xia's painting on the ground. Lu Zhiang was annoyed by Fu Xiaosi's coldness and came to intercede for Li Xia. Fu Xiaosi, however, disdained to meddle in Li Xia's affairs, telling Lu Zhiang that if he loved to get involved, he could help Li Xia himself.
Li Xia was bewildered by Fu Xiaosi's reaction, asking where he had offended him. Fu Xiaosi turned his head to look at Li Xia's innocent eyes, and a sense of unfamiliarity grew between them. To prove himself to Fu Xiaosi, Li Xia and Fu Xiaosi made a bet: if Li Xia's painting could win an award, Fu Xiaosi would willingly buy Li Xia breakfast for a week as a reward.
What seemed like an innocent and unserious agreement, in our young hearts, held an unyielding spirit of defiance. We would all try our best to protect the most sensitive self-esteem in our hearts.
