Jiang Hu approaches Xu Si to rent Teng Yue's land, arguing there's an opportunity while Baoxing's deal with Yuanfeng for K32 is pending. She proposes paying the rent with high interest after one year. Finding her proposal audacious, Xu Si asks if he looks like a "pushover." He rejects her plea, suggesting a more realistic way for her to get funds would be to cancel her C Club membership.

He advises her to stop pursuing him and focus on vacating the factory. Undeterred, Jiang Hu persists. After being repeatedly turned away by Xu Si's assistant, Wu Guanglei, she tricks another employee into revealing Xu Si is at TT Media. She rides her electric scooter there and waits outside all day. When leaving, Xu Si finds her sitting on the ground leaning against the scooter.

He wryly comments that by giving up high heels, she has lost both her height and her sense of humor. Jiang Hu insists she is serious, but a weary Xu Si dismisses her plan as a joke. When she requests a fifteen-minute meeting, he lies about an out-of-town meeting that will last for days. Jiang Hu declares she will wait at his company until he agrees to talk.

Later, while driving Xiang Zhaoyang home, Xu Si asks about her relationship with Jiang Hu. Though they were schoolmates, Xiang Zhaoyang admits they don't get along. However, she demonstrates a keen understanding of Jiang Hu's character, recalling how Jiang Hu learned French in six months and severely injured her hands to complete a school project alone, highlighting her stubborn determination.

Meanwhile, at TT Media, Xiang Zhaoyang's prominence as the lead for special projects causes resentment among other hosts relegated to less desirable studios. Her success catches the eye of Gao Yi, who sees one of her videos and instructs his assistant to contact TT Media. Gao Yi meets with Zhang Wenshan, the head of Free Unicorn, whose lease at Lidu Department Store is expiring.

Gao Yi states that to align with Lidu's upgraded image, Free Unicorn must move from its prime first-floor location to the second floor. He frames this as a benefit, offering lower rent and a more targeted clientele. Zhang Wenshan, acknowledging his weak negotiating position, appeals to their connection by mentioning that Free Unicorn was founded by Gao Yi's godfather, Jiang Qisheng.

With Jiang Hu present, he then asks Gao Yi to do Jiang Hu a favor by allowing Free Unicorn to hold promotional events in the store's atrium. Gao Yi deflects him to the marketing department, prompting an angry Jiang Hu to call Zhang Wenshan a jerk after he leaves. Jiang Hu is summoned to Baoxing by Wu Guanglei, only to be served a lawyer's letter.

Wu Guanglei informs her that if Teng Yue is not vacated by the deadline, bulldozers will be sent in on Xu Si's orders. In response to the ultimatum, Jiang Hu stages a dramatic scene, threatening to jump from the building. To de-escalate the situation, Xu Si makes a deal: he will rent her the factory if she can sell 20,000 pairs of shoes. Jiang Hu immediately returns with paperwork showing that her uncle, Pei Zhiyuan, has purchased the entire lot.

Xu Si, feeling tricked, confronts her. Jiang Hu confirms her suicide threat was a calculated act. She reveals she has photos and videos of the incident, which she was prepared to post online to create a PR crisis for him and Baoxing. Xu Si calls her unscrupulous, but she insists she had no other choice. Deeply disliking being threatened, Xu Si calls her method smart but foolish, pointing out the substantial annual rent and the industry standard of upfront payment.

Jiang Hu desperately pleads her case, offering to pay the rent at the end of the year with double the highest bank interest rate. Calling her approach "rogue," Xu Si maintains that her words are not enough. He challenges her to present a viable business plan to revive Teng Yue, promising a serious discussion without tricks if she can do so. Later, Xu Si explains his decision to a colleague who was surprised he yielded to a threat.

Xu Si reasons that Jiang Hu's relentless and adventurous spirit is inherited from her father, Jiang Qisheng. He has decided to give her a chance, believing it is the only way to make her accept her eventual defeat. Meanwhile, Xiang Zhaoyang's popularity soars, with her follower count quickly reaching one million, aided by TT Media's resources. After a fawning encounter with a fan, she reviews collaboration requests from eighteen brands and, without hesitation, chooses Lidu Department Store.

She argues that Lidu's recent repositioning toward a younger, casual-luxury style perfectly aligns with her content. A colleague raises concerns about Lidu's past poor performance, but Xiang Zhaoyang highlights its successful recent restructuring under a new vice president, which has already drawn significant crowds. She emphasizes the synergy, making it a mutually beneficial partnership. Separately, Gao Yi expresses confidence that TT Media will agree to the collaboration.

In a private conversation, Xiang Zhaoyang confronts Xu Si about his constant criticism of her work, asking if he is trying to get her attention or reconcile with her. She feels he could be less harsh in front of their team, given their past relationship. Xu Si insists his feedback is purely professional and necessary for the company's success. Xiang Zhaoyang retorts that his emotional intelligence is lacking and sarcastically wishes him a "happy bachelorhood."

Jiang Hu finds renewed hope after reading online comments from people expressing deep nostalgia for Teng Yue shoes and asking where they can be purchased. Their fondness for the brand's quality and durability strengthens her resolve. Elsewhere, Yang Jian skillfully bargains for groceries at a local market. At the factory, Pei Zhiyuan sets up a makeshift bed for Jiang Hu but bluntly tells her that her plan to revive Teng Yue is a pipe dream. He cites the insurmountable costs of rent and worker salaries, especially now that Teng Yue has lost its manufacturing contract with Free Unicorn, calling the venture a bottomless pit.
