Put Your Head on My Shoulder Episode 6 Recap
> Put Your Head on My Shoulder Recap
Situ Mo's mother happily observed the seamless chemistry between Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi, remarking that they seemed as though they had lived together for decades. Situ Mo, embarrassed, urged her mother to stop talking nonsense and questioned when she would leave, noting her mother's extended stay. Her mother retorted that Gu Weiyi hadn't asked her to leave, so Situ Mo had no right to. Gu Weiyi, standing nearby, affirmed Situ Mo's mother's words.
The following morning, Situ Mo's mother inquired about their day's plans. Both Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi mentioned needing to return to school; Situ Mo for a graduation thesis discussion and Gu Weiyi to meet Professor Jiang at the new campus. Situ Mo's mother suggested they travel together. In the car, Gu Weiyi asked Situ Mo if she still enjoyed listening to cross-talk.
She admitted being too busy to download new material, so Gu Weiyi offered his own downloaded content, and they both shared a laugh. Upon returning to her dorm, Situ Mo startled her roommates, who were frantically hiding high-power appliances, mistaking her for the dorm warden. Just then, the warden herself, Pei Lan, entered. She demanded they surrender the hidden items. When they nervously claimed they were just dirty clothes, Pei Lan was unconvinced and, after searching, discovered a cooking pot.
She confiscated it, instructing them to retrieve it after graduation, and reminded them that room hygiene was also part of the inspection, questioning if they were so hungry they'd resort to cooking socks. Meanwhile, Fu Pei waited outside the apartment complex, hoping to see Situ Mo. He encountered Situ Mo's mother and introduced himself as Situ Mo's high school classmate, recalling a previous visit where he was offered walnuts.
Situ Mo's mother, mistaking him for a salesperson, curtly told him she wasn't interested in any services. Situ Mo then arrived, and her mother quickly ushered her home for dinner, brusquely dismissing Fu Pei. At home, Situ Mo's mother confronted her about Fu Pei, asking if he was the same boy who had caused her so much distress in high school, leading her to cry all night and fill her diary with his name. Situ Mo confirmed it.
Her mother expressed concern about Fu Pei's "fickle" nature and passionately advised Situ Mo not to settle for less than true happiness, emphasizing that she and her father's only wish was for their children to live joyful lives, not necessarily to achieve great things. She recounted how painful it was for them to see Situ Mo silently suffer because of him. Situ Mo's mother then announced her departure for home the next day.
Later, while watching television, Situ Mo's mother used the show's characters as examples, cautioning Situ Mo against choosing a "stupid" boyfriend and advising her not to emulate the foolish female characters. When Gu Weiyi returned, Situ Mo's mother informed him of her upcoming departure, asked him to look after Situ Mo, and invited him to visit often.
Situ Mo then playfully asked Gu Weiyi to help her with her graduation thesis but quickly dismissed the idea, acknowledging their vastly different academic fields. When Gu Weiyi inquired about her topic, "Research on the Informatization of SME Accounting through a Cloud Computing Model," she admitted confusion. She revealed that her advisor had criticized her thesis for lacking originality and a clear vision for the future of accounting.
Situ Mo confessed her desire to pursue a career in advertising, questioning if she even wanted to be an accountant. Gu Weiyi supported her, stating that pursuing what one loves is most important, a remark that drew curious glances from both Situ Mo and her mother. Before finally departing, Situ Mo's mother presented Situ Mo with a "military order," demanding she sign a promise not to move out. Threatened with her mother's indefinite stay, Situ Mo reluctantly signed.
The moment her mother left, Situ Mo swiftly packed her belongings and moved back to her dorm, sending a text to Gu Weiyi to inform him and apologize for the inconvenience. Gu Weiyi returned to a noticeably quiet and empty apartment, experiencing a profound sense of loneliness after the past two lively days. He found himself replaying his memories with Situ Mo, even distractedly using a door to crack walnuts. Situ Mo found herself overwhelmed, juggling her thesis and internship.
One evening, she returned to the dorm late due to overtime work and found the door locked. She pleaded with Pei Lan, the warden, to open it. Pei Lan, exasperated, chastised Situ Mo for her frequent late returns, noting she had registered four times that week, and sarcastically addressed her as "boss." Pei Lan suggested Situ Mo might as well live outside if she continued such behavior, accusing her of undermining the dorm's rules.
Situ Mo quietly muttered that living outside wouldn't be an issue. Fu Pei encouraged Wang Shan to attempt a mock test, promising a reward. When Wang Shan guessed he wanted to visit Situ Mo's place, he confirmed it. Wang Shan questioned why he needed her to facilitate the meeting, to which Fu Pei responded that he wanted to surprise Situ Mo by "suddenly appearing."
Wang Shan agreed to arrange a meeting with Situ Mo if Fu Pei achieved a passing score on the mock test. A classmate later approached Situ Mo for help designing a poster for the graduation exhibition. Situ Mo initially declined, citing her busy schedule. However, recalling Gu Weiyi's advice about pursuing what one loves, she changed her mind, agreed to help, and decided to resign from her accounting internship.
She informed her manager, Sis Qing, of her decision, explaining her preference for a career in advertising. Sis Qing attempted to dissuade her by highlighting the interesting aspects of finance and its potential to save companies, but ultimately respected Situ Mo's choice, wishing her a prosperous future. Situ Mo immediately set her sights on applying to Ori Advertising.
Back in the lab, Professor Jiang observed Gu Weiyi seemingly distracted, typing "Si Tu" on his computer screen instead of focusing on his work. Professor Jiang sternly reminded him of the importance of respect and rigor in experiments, then reprimanded him and ordered him to redo an experiment he had already completed. Later, Gu Weiyi positioned himself near the girls' dorm building.
As Situ Mo emerged, he pretended to be disoriented, claiming he had lost his way and was unfamiliar with the old campus after a long absence. Upon learning Situ Mo was headed for an interview at Ori, he suggested they go together, feigning that it was "on the way." He waited outside the company during her interview, even covertly searching online for the typical duration of job interviews.
After Situ Mo emerged, having apparently succeeded, he again "coincidentally" walked her back to her dorm. As Situ Mo ascended the stairs, Gu Weiyi looked at a draft paper she had unknowingly dropped. Pei Lan, the dorm warden, noticed Gu Weiyi lingering and, mistaking him for a salesperson, ordered him to leave. Just then, Professor Jiang arrived, clarifying that Gu Weiyi was his student.
Gu Weiyi then overheard a surprising exchange between Professor Jiang and Pei Lan, revealing that they were, in fact, a married couple, with Pei Lan scolding Professor Jiang about smoking. Gu Weiyi subsequently called Situ Mo, falsely claiming her mother was coming to visit to persuade her to return to his apartment.
Situ Mo's roommates overheard the conversation and, intrigued by the prospect of visiting a "genius physicist's" home, insisted on accompanying her, believing their presence would help convince Situ Mo's mother that she still lived there. Gu Weiyi was visibly annoyed by Situ Mo's unexpected entourage. He then informed Situ Mo that her mother had changed her mind about visiting, having decided to play mahjong instead. To Gu Weiyi's further dismay, another uninvited pair arrived: Fu Pei and Wang Shan.
Despite Gu Weiyi's displeasure, the group insisted on staying to watch a ghost movie. As the film's tension built, Situ Mo abruptly mentioned craving tomato-flavored chips. Fu Pei immediately offered to go buy some, but Situ Mo quickly interrupted him, stating it wasn't necessary, creating an awkward silence.
Fu Pei then realized his previous misunderstanding about Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi's living arrangement, especially after Situ Mo clarified that they were merely forced to cohabitate by her mother and he was not her boyfriend. Later, a heavily intoxicated Fu Pei mistakenly called Wang Shan "Mo Mo" and attempted to kiss her.
