Oh! My Emperor Season 2 Episode 1 Recap
> Oh! My Emperor Season 2 Recap
At the imperial court assembly, Beitang Yi formally announced to the heavens that he had unified military and political power and was now the sovereign of Zodiac State. He declared that, guided by the stars and the light of the Purple unit, he would diligently and humbly work alongside the masters of the twelve stars to fulfill the will of all stars and ancestors.
Following the ministers' congratulations and pledges of allegiance, Beitang Yi stated his commitment to building a prosperous nation and then announced his intention to grant a general amnesty. The Grand Empress Dowager deliberately coughed, but Beitang Yi still announced the edict. She then clearly opposed this, sternly reminding Beitang Yi of his father's demise. She insisted that while amnesty was commendable, its benefits should be exclusive to Zodiac State's own people, explicitly excluding all foreign tribes and offenders.
She questioned his intentions, asking, "If you want to pardon people, who do you want to pardon exactly?" When Beitang Yi affirmed his desire to pardon all prisoners, she pointed out that the Serpent Star people had incited madness and attempted to overthrow their regime, questioning if they, especially their master Luo Feifei, could possibly be pardoned. She then firmly commanded, "Don't let the people of Serpent star go!"
After the assembly, the Grand Empress Dowager directly confronted Beitang Yi, reiterating her order that no one from the Serpent Star, particularly Luo Feifei, should be released. Deep within a cold, dark prison, Luo Feifei lay captive, bound by iron chains. Prince Tang came to plead with Beitang Yi for her release.
He argued that despite her wrong in attempting to assassinate the Emperor, she must have had her reasons, and since Beitang Yi had wounded her with a sword, they were now even. He urged, "Please let her go." Annoyed, Beitang Yi ordered Dehai to remove Prince Tang, who stubbornly refused to leave until Luo Feifei was freed. After Prince Tang was forcibly removed, Dehai, speaking to Beitang Yi, praised Prince Tang's righteousness as a rare quality.
Dehai further suggested that had Beitang Yi not used his sword, Luo Feifei might have gone mad, implying she would ultimately understand his good intentions. Beitang Yi nodded in acknowledgment. Prince Tang then hurried to the prison, where he released all the other Serpent Star people. However, he was too late for Luo Feifei; she had already been taken to the execution ground.
A released prisoner informed him that his "Missy" was on her way to the place of execution, no longer in the prison. Remembering a carriage he had seen, Prince Tang rushed back to the palace to inform Beitang Yi. The news shocked Beitang Yi, who dropped the book he was holding and immediately mounted his horse, riding at full speed towards the execution ground.
At the execution ground, the Grand Empress Dowager declared her intention to execute Luo Feifei, stating that the previous Serpent Star master had committed treason by killing the emperor, and the current one had demonstrated her power when the war broke out, causing all the asters to lose their power and bringing them close to catastrophe. She proclaimed, "I follow the will of the God, to kill the master of Serpent star."
Just as the execution was about to commence, Prince Chen dramatically intervened, shouting, "Cease it!" and demanding, "Mother, you can't kill her." The agitated crowd, believing Luo Feifei had bewitched Prince Chen, chanted, "Kill the witch!" The Grand Empress Dowager, convinced that Luo Feifei posed an existential threat to Zodiac State, insisted she could not be kept alive. Prince Chen, however, stood firm, asserting he had a valid reason to save her.
When pressed to explain how he could forget his brother's death a decade ago, he boldly declared, "Luo Feifei and I have been engaged with a witness. She's my wife, not the foreign people. She belongs to the Zodiac State. The emperor has announced amnesty." The Grand Empress Dowager dismissed his words, accusing him of being bewitched and untrustworthy.
As the crowd continued to demand Luo Feifei's death, Prince Chen defiantly proclaimed, "You need to kill me first if you want to kill her." He knelt, affirming that while he dared not commit treason, couples should share prosperity and endure adversity together, vowing to remain with Luo Feifei, "unbound by death," even if she was the master of Serpent Star. Just as he spoke, Beitang Yi arrived.
The furious Grand Empress Dowager attempted to use Beitang Yi to discredit Prince Chen, accusing him of trying to deceive her with a false engagement and seeking Beitang Yi's judgment. To her astonishment, Beitang Yi confirmed, "I'm aware of it. I was there when they engaged," validating Prince Chen's claim. Defeated, the Grand Empress Dowager had no choice but to concede. Prince Chen then declared, "Feifei is my wife now.
I will protect her with all means," before scooping up Luo Feifei and carrying her away. At Prince Chen's residence, Luo Feifei was gently placed on a bed. Prince Chen meticulously tended to her, carefully wiping her feverish forehead. Su Xunxian arrived and playfully teased Prince Chen, remarking on his emotional state and how love could be endlessly captivating. Su Xunxian congratulated Prince Chen on his bravery at the execution ground.
Meanwhile, Beitang Yi sat at his own desk, attempting to appear calm, yet his mind was clearly preoccupied, as evidenced by the papers before him, all covered with Luo Feifei's name, as Luo Feifei and Prince Chen's wedding was approaching. Dehai, discerning Beitang Yi's inner turmoil, gently took the Emperor's hand, subtly urging him to go to Luo Feifei. Beitang Yi shot a cold glance at Dehai's hand, prompting him to quickly release it.
Dehai then voiced his concern, wondering aloud how Beitang Yi could remain so calm when Luo Feifei was soon to be Prince Chen's wife. He directly observed Beitang Yi's inability to forget Luo Feifei and questioned why he had allowed her to leave, finally advising, "Go get her." Later that night, Xie Yanran arrived at Prince Chen's residence, expressing deep concern for Luo Feifei's severe injuries.
Prince Chen informed her that Luo Feifei was suffering from another fever and was unconscious. As it was late and cold, Prince Chen urged Xie Yanran to return home. However, Xie Yanran insisted on staying, explaining that she couldn't sleep until Luo Feifei woke up, hoping her presence would bring her peace of mind. Prince Chen was busy gathering skilled individuals to concoct a medicinal soup for the unconscious and feverish Luo Feifei.
Under the cover of darkness, Beitang Yi, cloaked in black and masked, secretly infiltrated Prince Chen's residence. He silently made his way to Luo Feifei's room and stood there, gazing intently at her as she lay unconscious. At the same time, Prince Tang was at the Grand Empress Dowager's palace, massaging her legs. The Grand Empress Dowager, seemingly enjoying his company, remarked on his growing consideration. She then inquired about Beitang Yi, before suddenly suggesting they go visit him.
Prince Tang attempted to dissuade her, suggesting they wait until tomorrow, but she insisted on going now, believing Beitang Yi would be reviewing memorials. Elsewhere, a young girl named Chongchong, also wearing a mask, entered Luo Feifei's room. She unexpectedly encountered Beitang Yi, similarly disguised, who awkwardly pretended not to notice her and quickly slipped out through the back door. Chongchong internally mused, "That big brother is so weird. I don't understand you adults. So weird." She then approached Luo Feifei's bedside, saying, "Sister, I've come to save you. Please get well soon," and began to use her extraordinary abilities to heal Luo Feifei.
