Zhang Xiaofan didn't expect his body in mid-air to suddenly be blocked by something, then bounced back onto the Rainbow Bridge. It turned out that Daoist Master Wan Jianyi, the junior brother of Master Daoxuan of Tongtian Peak, had arrived and rescued Zhang Xiaofan. Wan Jianyi, holding the Zhanlong Sword, engaged in a fight with the man in black.

Amidst the flashing blades and clashing swords, the man in black bent down and transformed into countless black bats, flying towards Wan Jianyi. Wan Jianyi activated the Zhanlong Sword, striking these black bats down to the ground. Wan Jianyi brought Zhang Xiaofan to Dazhu Peak and explained what had happened. Tian Buyi recognized the dropped feathers as belonging to the Blood Raven Art of the Blood Refining Hall, surprised that they dared to infiltrate the Qingyun Sect.

Tian Buyi speculated that the reason this mysterious figure wanted Zhang Xiaofan dead after five years might be related to the Caomiao Village massacre years ago. Tian Ling'er, hearing that Zhang Xiaofan was almost killed, hurried over to ask about the assailant's identity. Zhang Xiaofan, recalling Puzhi's words, lied that he didn't know the mysterious figure. Tian Buyi asked his young disciple Zhang Xiaofan why he went to the back mountain in the middle of the night.

Tian Ling'er lied that she had asked Zhang Xiaofan to practice martial arts in the back mountain. Seeing that Zhang Xiaofan, despite practicing diligently, still lacked the ability to protect himself, Tian Buyi was very disappointed. The monkey suddenly emitted plumes of black smoke, and Tian Ling'er immediately fell to the ground.

Zhang Xiaofan pulled Tian Ling'er and the monkey and started to leave, but stumbled and fell, leaving a bloody mark on his hand. At this moment, the Blood-Devouring Pearl on Zhang Xiaofan's person immediately reacted like a stress response, suddenly emitting immense power, and Zhang Xiaofan floated in mid-air. Looking down, the nearby lake water suddenly splashed, and an iron staff automatically flew into Zhang Xiaofan's hand. Zhang Xiaofan gripped it, but couldn't control it, and immediately passed out.

Zhang Xiaofan opened his eyes to see Tian Ling'er nervously calling his name. The Blood-Devouring Pearl's stress reaction allowed the Blood Refining Hall master, who had long coveted it, to locate its whereabouts.

He finally saw hope for the revitalization of the Blood Refining Hall. It turned out that the Blood-Devouring Pearl was a notorious and extremely malevolent item; any living creature that approached it for a short period would have its vital essence sucked dry and die. Over a thousand years ago, it was obtained by Old Man Black Heart, an elder of the Blood Refining Hall, after which he became invincible, slaying countless righteous experts.

After Old Man Black Heart's death, the Blood-Devouring Pearl vanished without a trace. It wasn't until five years ago that the Azure Fire Talisman sensed the Blood-Devouring Pearl appearing near Qingyun, prompting the Blood Refining Hall master to order his disciples to thoroughly search for its whereabouts. Tian Buyi saw the little monkey on Zhang Xiaofan's shoulder and quickly asked why.

Tian Ling'er lied, claiming that the monkey had clung to Zhang Xiaofan, and that she had decided to let Zhang Xiaofan bring it back. Faced with Tian Buyi's questions, Zhang Xiaofan could only nod or shake his head woodenly. Tian Buyi was utterly disappointed in this disciple who was even bullied by a monkey. The next day, Zhang Xiaofan went to the back mountain to practice the Sword Riding Art.

After several unsuccessful attempts, with some effort, the treasured sword suddenly flew up, but Zhang Xiaofan couldn't control its direction. It turned out that Zeng Shushu was playing a prank. Zeng Shushu accidentally annoyed the monkey and was scratched by it. Zeng Shushu told Zhang Xiaofan that the monkey he was raising was a spirit beast, a Three-Eyed Spirit Monkey.

Zeng Shushu couldn't get the better of the monkey, so he led Zhang Xiaofan to Xiaozhu Peak to find Lu Xueqi. Lu Xueqi, however, ignored Zeng Shushu. Zeng Shushu recited some mushy poems, then had Zhang Xiaofan light fireworks. The colorful fireworks instantly transformed into a dazzling golden phoenix in the sky. Seeing Zeng Shushu's shameless behavior, Lu Xueqi activated her treasured sword, which immediately transformed into thousands of swords flying towards Zeng Shushu and Zhang Xiaofan. The two of them took off running.
