It turned out that Bi Yao had used something given to her by the maid Yun Shu during a meal delivery to open her shackles. Bi Yao launched a surprise attack while Meng Ji was startled, but unexpectedly, she hadn't escaped far before Meng Ji sealed her in another location. Bi Yao discovered another person imprisoned there and found out that he was Situ Xiao, the former young master of Dinghai Village.

He had been imprisoned there for over seven years. It turned out that the Changsheng Hall controlled Situ Xiao with bloodworms they raised. These bloodworms could suck the blood of any living creature, and once they latched on, they were very difficult to get rid of. Situ Xiao told Bi Yao that they could use the characteristic of bloodworms to only distinguish directions through vibration, making them attack the Changsheng Hall's runes to trick Yuyangzi into coming in.

Only then would Bi Yao have a chance to escape. Situ Xiao urged Bi Yao that if she escaped, she must help find a mute girl named Yun Shu. Bi Yao realized that the girl who delivered her meals matched Situ Xiao's description. She told Situ Xiao that Yun Shu was still in Dinghai Village. Bi Yao tiptoed to the runes and used her internal energy to tap the wall.

Yuyangzi accused them of colluding with the demoness of the Demonic Sect. Qinglong appeared and caused a diversion, allowing Zhang Xiaofan and Lin Jingyu to seize the opportunity to escape the courtyard, where they encountered Yun Shu. Yun Shu gave them an antidote.

Yun Shu was naturally heartbroken as well. On the day of Situ Xiao's wedding, she ran to the seaside and cried inconsolably, completely unaware of the tsunami that occurred. Yuyangzi, who had been infiltrating Dinghai Village for three years, rescued Yun Shu. After the tsunami, the old village master passed away, and Situ Xiao disappeared. Yuyangzi pretended to resettle the common people to win their hearts and took over Dinghai Village.

After Yun Shu told Zhang Xiaofan all this, she was willing to help him find Bi Yao's whereabouts, and at the same time, she pleaded with Zhang Xiaofan and the others that after rescuing Bi Yao, they help her drive away Yuyangzi and find Situ Xiao. Yuyangzi told Xiao Yicai that Bi Yao was already in his hands and would no longer cause any trouble. The Ghost King Sect would not be able to find Bi Yao's whereabouts. Yuyangzi instructed Xiao Yicai to go outside the city to scout for any movements of the Ghost King Sect. At this moment, Bi Yao also learned about Situ Xiao's emotional entanglement with Yun Shu from him.

However, Bi Yao was growing weaker and weaker due to the bloodworms sucking her blood. Meng Ji pressed Bi Yao, asking if she agreed to write the letter. Bi Yao feigned compliance. Yuyangzi instructed Meng Ji to let Yun Shu go inside and for Meng Ji to wait outside, so there would be no fear of Bi Yao playing any tricks. Yun Shu entered the cell and saw Situ Xiao. The former lovers gazed into each other's eyes, speechless and choked with emotion.
