Lu Xueqi decided to go to Kongsang Mountain to look for Wandu Sect disciples. Jin Ping'er told Zeng Shushu that as long as he was interested in the position of City Lord of Yudou City, she would fully support him; otherwise, the question of support would not exist.

During the Mid-Autumn Festival, Lin Jingyu came to the Qinghe River bank to fulfill his appointment. He questioned Bi Yao, asking if the strange problems with Zhang Xiaofan's magic weapon were related to her. Bi Yao told Lin Jingyu that no matter what methods she used on the magic weapon, she could not interfere with Zhang Xiaofan's internal energy; the problems were entirely Zhang Xiaofan's own. Then, Bi Yao asked the purpose of Zhang Xiaofan's visit to Yudou City.

Lin Jingyu answered truthfully, saying it was to guard against the Demonic Sect. Bi Yao criticized the so-called righteous cultivators' misunderstanding of the Ghost King Sect. Lu Xueqi was suddenly inspired and went with Lin Jingyu outside the city to find where Guard Yan had buried the Wandu Sect disciple. They found that the corpse had turned into blood and seeped into the soil. Lu Xueqi could not figure out what kind of potent poison this was and wondered if it was related to the picked petals. Zhou Yixian pulled City Lord Wei to go watch the play.

City Lord Wei refused, citing discomfort, and told Zhou Yixian that he indeed felt unwell but couldn't identify the cause of his illness. Zeng Shushu searched for a long time but couldn't find Xiao Huan. As the time for the show approached, Zeng Shushu saw Bi Yao, who had come looking for Lin Jingyu, and a sudden idea came to him: he wanted Bi Yao to replace Xiao Huan in this grand play. The grand play began as scheduled.

After Zeng Shushu's opening remarks, Bi Yao and Zhang Xiaofan descended from the sky like celestial beings walking on water, drawing rounds of applause from the audience. On stage, they performed the love-hate story of Sword One of the Righteous Path and Pineapple of the Demonic Sect, a play Zeng Shushu had written based on the past events of the Qingyun Sect. Unexpectedly, due to hasty preparation, Bi Yao forgot her lines and went straight backstage.

Zhang Xiaofan followed Bi Yao, and suddenly felt a pang of sadness in his heart, his eyes bloodshot. Bi Yao realized that Zhang Xiaofan was being affected by the magic weapon, but Zhang Xiaofan insisted on finishing the play. At this moment, she saw a red dragonfly, which she had never seen in Yudou City, resting on a petal. Meanwhile, on the stage, Zhang Xiaofan and Bi Yao's performance was nearing its climax.

Bi Yao seemed to recall the dangerous situation she and her mother had encountered, and her heartfelt performance on stage moved the audience to tears. At this point, Bi Yao was too deeply immersed in the role and sat dazed on the stage. Zeng Shushu had to call her over. The performance continued. Bi Yao, already deeply immersed in her role, disregarded the script and pulled Sword One, played by Zhang Xiaofan, to leave together.

On the stage, Bi Yao and Zhang Xiaofan were seen hand-in-hand, suddenly ascending into the air, like a pair of celestial lovers. What they didn't know was that Xiao Huan, while tidying costumes backstage, was suddenly kidnapped by people sent by Grandpa Dog. Grandpa Dog believed that the Qingyun Sect disciples had offended Young Mistress Bi Yao, and intended to vent his anger on Bi Yao's behalf in this way.

Xiao Huan deduced Grandpa Dog's past and future, and Grandpa Dog hurriedly untied her. Xiao Huan tricked Grandpa Dog and took the opportunity to escape. Grandpa Dog failed to catch Xiao Huan and decided to go with his subordinates to cause trouble behind the stage, to prevent Zhang Xiaofan and others from performing the play.

Just as Grandpa Dog was about to cast a spell to set the stage on fire, Lu Xueqi arrived in time, injured Grandpa Dog, and thus ensured the performance proceeded smoothly. The performance was an unprecedented success. Although the righteous and demonic factions were irreconcilable, Lin Jingyu, who could discern good from evil, still expressed his gratitude to Bi Yao.

Seeing Lin Jingyu continuously releasing sky lanterns, Zhang Xiaofan couldn't help but tell Lu Xueqi about the tragic scene of losing his loved ones during the slaughter of Grass Temple Village. Lu Xueqi understood that this was the root of Zhang Xiaofan's inner demons on the day of the Grand Competition of the Seven Meridians.
