My Mowgli Boy Episode 28 Recap
> My Mowgli Boy Recap
Mowgli and Lu Ziyue were practicing shooting, but Mowgli’s mind was elsewhere. He confessed to Lu Ziyue that he felt bad for Ling Xi, yet he didn't believe he had done anything wrong and therefore wouldn't apologize. Lu Ziyue supported Mowgli’s stance, stating that relationships require mutual effort, and one person’s persistence alone can’t sustain it. Mowgli, however, wondered if his refusal to yield would mean the end of their relationship.
Lu Ziyue encouraged Mowgli to stick to his principles, reminding him that in the law of the jungle, a predator cannot compromise, or it would be no different from a rabbit destined to be eaten. He reassured Mowgli that sticking to his principles would establish an equal footing with Ling Xi, rather than making him merely an accessory. Mowgli resolved to uphold his principles to the end.
Mowgli then commented on Lu Ziyue's surprising transformation from a timid young man to a decisive one, realizing that love can indeed foster personal growth. Meanwhile, Chu Shi was in distress, muttering about whether Mowgli liked her or not. She felt that if this continued, she would have to return home. Ling Yu called, and Chu Shi sought his advice for a "romantic trouble."
She described a man who shared meals and hung out with her, who she initially thought was just a friend but now seemed to have romantic feelings for her, despite having a girlfriend. She worried this situation was inappropriate and would force her to return home, emphasizing she would not be a "mistress." Ling Yu, realizing she was talking about Mowgli, became jealous and angry and abruptly ended the call, leaving Chu Shi feeling even more troubled without advice.
Later that night, Chi Xu unexpectedly showed up at Ling Yu’s office, assuring Ling Yu that no one saw him. Ling Yu was shocked by his presence. Chi Xu revealed that Zheng Li had fired him by exploiting a loophole in their contract, leaving him jobless. He complained to Ling Yu that their joint venture was now ruined. Ling Yu furiously blamed Chi Xu for provoking Bai Yiling, which led Zheng Li to retaliate against Chi Xu.
He also questioned Chi Xu about the unpaid money for Bai Yiling's apartment. Chi Xu, desperate and on the verge of a second divorce from his current wife, Xiao Yao, due to financial arguments, begged Ling Yu for help. Ling Yu, however, refused to get involved, instructing Chi Xu to strictly follow Zheng Li’s demands, including apologizing if asked, and to never come to his office again.
As Chi Xu left, Bai Yiling arrived to pick up a document for Zheng Li and noticed Chi Xu walking away. Ling Yu, ever alert, questioned Bai Yiling about seeing anything, but Zheng Li appeared and intervened, escorting Bai Yiling out. In the parking lot, Chi Xu and Xiao Yao had a heated argument about money and her spending, even mentioning divorce.
Chi Xu, watching Zheng Li and Bai Yiling share affectionate moments nearby, seemed to regret his divorce from Bai Yiling as he argued with Xiao Yao. The next morning, Ling Xi found a note and strawberries from Mowgli, along with a pre-arranged ride to school. She was delighted, believing he was apologizing.
However, when Mowgli offered her a sandwich at school, he clarified that these gestures were acts of affection and care, not an apology, because he felt he had done nothing wrong. Ling Xi argued that an earlier apology would have prevented their fight. Mowgli insisted that an insincere apology was useless and that they should focus on resolving the underlying issue of their unhappiness, asserting that an apology should not be used for a misunderstanding.
Frustrated by their deadlock, Ling Xi threw the sandwich away, declaring she would treat other men the way Mowgli treated Chu Shi. She walked away slowly, hoping Mowgli would follow, wondering who had taught him such stubbornness. Ling Xi then shifted her focus to Li Yuheng, strategically placing her revised proposals where he would see them. She cornered him in the cafeteria, pressing him to review her plan and even accidentally getting a page glued to his hand.
Li Yuheng expressed his disinterest in wasting time on unpromising ventures. Ling Xi, undeterred, emphasized their shared tenacity and determination, stating she wouldn't give up on something she believed in. Yielding to her persistence, Li Yuheng challenged her to personally design and create a piece of clothing for him, overseeing the entire production process. If the garment met his approval, he would consider her proposal. Overjoyed, Ling Xi embraced him, discreetly attempting to take his measurements.
Later, realizing she needed more precise measurements, she remembered a dry cleaning incident and conceived a plan. Meanwhile, Chu Shi, wanting to avoid Mowgli, tried to sneak past him, Lu Ziyue, and Zheng Li in the cafeteria but was spotted by Zheng Li and ran away without her meal. Zheng Li, radiating happiness from his relationship with Bai Yiling, ceaselessly praised her, much to the exasperation of Mowgli and Lu Ziyue, who found his bragging annoying.
Zheng Li gave Lu Ziyue a "love lesson," likening true love to grilling a steak, requiring perfect timing and seasoning, describing his relationship with Bai Yiling as "perfect." Mowgli, having drunk too much, passed out at the table. Lu Ziyue decided to take him home. After dropping Mowgli off at Ling Xi's apartment, Lu Ziyue then went to Tang Cheng's house, expecting her to be out partying, but found her working late, not indulging in a decadent lifestyle.
Back in the apartment, Ling Xi, initially annoyed, softened as she tended to a shivering Mowgli, who, in his drunken state, reminded her to eat breakfast. She covered him with a blanket, scolding him gently for his excessive drinking and admiring his smooth skin, which she attributed to a pristine upbringing. The next morning, Ling Xi presented Li Yuheng with her finished "Men's crop top" design.
She explained its short length was due to limited material, but assured him it was tailored to his proportions and featured her unique design. When asked about her business plan, Ling Xi admitted it needed further refinement due to an all-night work session. Li Yuheng instructed her to send the completed plan to his email by midnight. Ling Xi, ecstatic, repeatedly thanked her "Your Excellency" as she departed.
