Following the chaotic events of the previous day, Jiang Xiaoning turns to her friend Zhao Yan for help, who generously lends her a new suit for her first day at work. Although Jiang Xiaoning feels the attire might be too formal, Zhao Yan insists it is crucial to make a strong first impression. Rushing to the office, Jiang Xiaoning is late, prompting a scolding from her supervisor, Mr. Wang, despite the gifts she brings for her new colleagues.
He explains that the company's culture is relaxed and casual, making her formal clothes excessive, but he commends her spirit and directs her to find Mr. Gu. Upon reaching Mr. Gu's office area, Jiang Xiaoning finds Su Manlin there with Mr. Gu’s parents. Su Manlin explains she picked them up because Mr. Gu was too busy with an important meeting, while his parents lament his lack of responsiveness, suggesting he is neglecting them.
Mr. Gu then arrives with Jiang Xiaoning and introduces her as his new driver and assistant. A surprised Su Manlin reminds him that he had previously rejected Jiang Xiaoning, but Mr. Gu dismisses her comment. After the meeting, in the underground parking lot, Jiang Xiaoning asks Mr. Gu to clarify some meeting details, but he says he is busy. He then asks about her conflict with Mr. He. Jiang Xiaoning explains that during a previous incident, she had intervened to stop Mr. He from taking advantage of a drunk Su Manlin. She worries he might be retaliating, but Mr. Gu dismisses her concerns.
As Jiang Xiaoning offers to buy him a bottle of water, Mr. He confronts her alone, accusing her of ruining his plans. He snatches her phone and suggests she can secure the project if she "makes him happy." When she tries to leave, Mr. He grabs her arm just as Mr. Gu appears. Mr. He falsely claims Jiang Xiaoning splashed water on him, but Mr. Gu, noting the surveillance cameras, tells her to call the police.
Panicked, Mr. He backtracks, and Mr. Gu firmly forces him to apologize to Jiang Xiaoning. As they leave, Mr. Gu drives, surprising Jiang Xiaoning, who had assumed he couldn't. He clarifies he just doesn't drive often and instructs her to shout for help and call him if she ever encounters Mr. He again. The next morning, Jiang Xiaoning brings oatmeal for Mr. Gu, explaining that Su Manlin mentioned his preference for light food. Mr. Gu playfully threatens to fire her if she keeps calling him "idol" but accepts the breakfast. When Su Manlin arrives, her expression falters upon learning Jiang Xiaoning made the meal. Mr. Gu suggests bringing Jiang Xiaoning along to learn, and when Su Manlin notes there are only two tickets, he states he will simply ask for another, leaving her visibly displeased. At Mr. Gu's home, Dr. P upgrades his mechanical heart, noting a significant change in his patient's outlook: instead of asking "when will I die?"
