Following their recent outing to scout the cafe location, Gu Chuan discussed the design of the cafe with Su Manlin. Gu Chuan noted that the cafe's primary advantage was its location, which allowed him to immediately envision the basic design style. As they spoke, both Gu Chuan and Su Manlin noticed Jiang Xiaoning downstairs. Gu Chuan went down to find Jiang Xiaoning, asking why she didn't come upstairs to join their discussion.
Jiang Xiaoning explained that Su Manlin had prevented her, promising to relay the details later. During a business trip, the three of them checked into a luxurious hotel. Back in her room, Jiang Xiaoning, barely containing her excitement, became overjoyed; Gu Chuan’s explanation eased her mind, and she blamed herself for her earlier misgivings, almost misunderstanding him. Xu Cheng Ran arrived with lilies to confront Zhao Yan. Just then, Manager Wei came downstairs and saw them.
Zhao Yan deliberately introduced Xu Cheng Ran as her "cousin." Manager Wei, though visibly disdainful, greeted Xu Cheng Ran politely before getting into his car to wait for Zhao Yan for dinner. However, when Jiang Xiaoning enthusiastically approached Gu Chuan with the idea, he instructed her to assign the project to Su Manlin. Su Manlin and Jiang Xiaoning met Chen Wenwen on a rooftop. Su Manlin harbored a subtle animosity towards Chen Wenwen, perhaps due to Jiang Xiaoning's involvement.
