After much consideration, she opened her WeChat and accepted his friend request. Meanwhile, Xu Cheng Ran, exhausted after a workout, received the notification and instantly felt invigorated. He promptly drove to Zhao Yan's company building. Though Zhao Yan initially maintained a dismissive demeanor, she eventually got into the driver's seat of his car, taking control of the situation.
Ms. Cheng Yu called the studio again, agreeing to give them another opportunity to redesign her project. She insisted that the old wall must be preserved and specifically requested Jiang Xiaoning to be the designer, stating that "only those who have suffered know how to heal." Jiang Xiaoning was both surprised and apprehensive about this significant responsibility. Gu Chuan questioned her capability but then offered his support, advising her to seek guidance from other designers if needed.
Her colleagues, including Cheng Dong and Wang Kai, also offered their encouragement and assistance, urging her to put in her best effort. Later, Zhao Yan and Xu Cheng Ran met at a bar. Despite being bruised, Xu Cheng Ran told her she shouldn't get into fights with other men because he would get jealous, suggesting she could punch him instead if she needed to hit someone. Moved by his words, Zhao Yan leaned in and kissed him, leading to an intimate moment between them. Jiang Xiaoning found herself creatively blocked on how to design a "different dimension" to protect Ms. Cheng Yu's precious wall of memories.
Gu Chuan helped her by showing her a snow globe he had received from a hotel in Switzerland, which reminded him of a happy time he spent in Rose Town. Jiang Xiaoning quickly grasped the concept, realizing they could use a glass shield to protect the wall and its memories, similar to the snow globe's glass. Jiang Xiaoning explained the concept of protecting the wall with a glass cover, which Ms. Cheng Yu initially found too simple. Gu Chuan then stepped in, elaborating on their plan to incorporate advanced augmented reality technology. This would allow them to recreate images of Ms. Cheng Yu's son and all the memories associated with the wall, making it possible for her to revisit those moments anytime.
They also planned to add a glass screen and use light effects to create a blend of reality and illusion. Ms. Cheng Yu was deeply touched, expressing her gratitude for helping her realize a dream. He then instructed Jiang Xiaoning to buy more flowers for everyone in the company, a gesture that surprised his colleagues and led them to speculate he might be in love, possibly with Jiang Xiaoning. Contrary to his usual reaction to such news, Gu Chuan calmly stated that "more time might not be a bad thing," as he considered winning this specific award his "finish line." He also admitted his new interest in plants and flowers was a way to "bring some light to the darkness in my life."
To thank everyone for their hard work, Gu Chuan announced a two-day company team-building event and allowed the staff to choose the destination, further surprising them with his rare smile. However, Su Manlin approached Jiang Xiaoning, telling her she couldn't join the team-building trip because she still had outstanding work, including the art gallery project presentation and an urgent project statement.
Wang Kai, displeased by Su Manlin's autocratic manner, intervened, asserting that Jiang Xiaoning could easily complete the work before returning from the trip, effectively ensuring her spot on the team-building. Gu Chuan, descending the stairs at that moment, witnessed the scene. That night, Xu Cheng Ran was seen drinking alone, lamenting that Zhao Yan hadn't contacted him. He told a friend that he was busy with his "perfect lady," calling her his "true love" and "buster" with whom he intended to spend the rest of his life.
Back at his own home, Gu Chuan, still visibly affected by seeing Tang Xu put the necklace on Jiang Xiaoning, couldn't stop thinking about her. He called Jiang Xiaoning, who was already awake, thinking about what food to prepare for him for the team-building trip. Gu Chuan then confessed, "I already like you."
