Ying Huanhuan explained to Lin Dong that a Spirit Monster relies on yuan energy to take on human forms, and if their energy is insufficient, they revert to their original state. The small marten, after being asked if it could be eaten, protested that consuming a Spirit Monster was useless, unlike a Black Panther Crystal. The marten then offered to help find the Black Panther.
Lin Dong, initially skeptical of the marten's abilities, eventually agreed to let the marten accompany them, making the marten acknowledge him as "Master." Lin Dong warned the marten not to play any tricks. As they prepared, the marten told Ying Huanhuan to stand aside during the fight, claiming he, as a man, would handle it, to which Ying Huanhuan retorted, challenging him. At a lake, they located the Black Panther.
Lin Dong threw a healing medicine given to him by Ying Huanhuan, which also had a sedative effect, to the Black Panther. After eating it, the beast fell unconscious. Lin Dong then asked the marten how to retrieve the crystal from its body. The marten teased Lin Dong's lack of a solution before stating that they needed to make the Black Panther bleed.
As Lin Dong considered how to extract the Black Panther Crystal, the marten suddenly lunged forward, revealing he too needed the crystal to transform back into his human form after being trapped in the talisman for so long. Ying Huanhuan suggested they share the crystal, but the marten declared he wanted it all. While the marten and Lin Dong were bickering and fighting over the crystal, the Black Panther awoke. The marten, bitten, quickly retreated back into the Stone Talisman.
Ying Huanhuan urged Lin Dong to stop trying to disgust the Black Panther and focus on protecting their lives. Just then, Lin Langtian arrived. Lin Dong, despite Lin Langtian's dismissive remarks about his "elementary kung fu," insisted on fighting the Black Panther, telling Lin Langtian to take Ying Huanhuan to safety. The Fire-Python Tiger then charged in, joining the fight against the Black Panther.
During the intense battle, the Stone Talisman activated again, and Lin Dong felt an aura of power surge through his body. Lin Langtian observed that Lin Dong had skipped the nine levels of the Cuiti Rank, successfully condensed a seed of yuan energy, and advanced to the Earthly Yuan Rank. Lin Langtian instructed Lin Dong to focus all his energy, guide his chi, and push out the yuan energy.
Lin Dong, reciting cultivation principles, then delivered a powerful blow that killed the Black Panther. Although injured, Lin Dong proudly declared his resilience, and Lin Langtian expressed surprise at his rapid advancement. Lin Dong asserted that he had surprised many people before and would eventually surpass everyone. Lin Langtian then extracted the Black Panther Crystal and handed it to Lin Dong. Lin Dong asked about Qingtan, and Lin Langtian assured him she was safe.
As they looked around, they noticed the Fire-Python Tiger persistently digging at the ground. They discovered a massive, invaluable Yang Yuan-stone mine. Meanwhile, Lin Xiao gathered the Lin family, urging them not to passively await their fate from the Lei Clan, as that would lead to a more terrible death. He proposed they fight back. Just then, Lin Dong arrived, presenting a still-living Lei Li to Lei Zhong.
Lin Dong stated he had the Black Panther Crystal and reminded Lei Zhong of their agreement. Ying Huanhuan stepped forward, confirming that Lei Li had been controlled by an Yi-Demon and was responsible for injuring the servants, emphasizing that Dao Sect members do not lie. Lei Zhong, acknowledging Ying Huanhuan's status, initially prepared to leave, but Lin Dong stopped him.
Lin Dong stated that since he was innocent of harming Lei Li, he was not obligated to give the treasure for free and demanded an exchange. Lin Dong then, after comically dismissing the idea of taking any of the Lei family's houses, lands, or shops, proposed an exchange for the Beast Valley and the forest behind it, which he noted had once belonged to the Lin Clan.
Lei Zhong reluctantly agreed to the exchange, dismissing the Beast Valley as a barren mountain. Back at the Lin family ancestral hall, Lin Dong displayed a large bag of Yang Yuan-stones he had retrieved from the Beast Valley, announcing the discovery of the mine and plans for the entire clan to start mining the next day. Soon after, Lin Dong discovered Ling Qingzhu unconscious.
He carried her to Ironwood Forest, where he pricked his finger and fed her drops of his blood. Ling Qingzhu soon regained consciousness but angrily told Lin Dong to leave. She chastised him for his constant disturbances, claiming he caused her to lose the Yi-Demon and something else. Lin Dong promptly returned her sachet, and seeing that she was fine, he departed. Upon returning home, Lin Dong was chased by Lin Xiao with a stick.
Lin Dong argued he was excellent, but Lin Xiao sternly warned him never to risk his life again, emphasizing his worry. Lin Dong jokingly pointed out Lin Xiao's white hair, suggesting a panacea, but Lin Xiao reiterated that his only concern was Lin Dong's safety. Lin Dong's uncle interjected, arguing that taking risks had led to the Yang Yuan-stone mine.
Lin Xiao then gently asked Lin Dong if he wanted to explore the wider world, suggesting he seek out Master Yan to become a man. However, Lin Dong firmly refused, asserting his desire to stay with his family. From a distance, Lin Langtian and Ling Qingzhu watched the happy family. Ling Qingzhu remarked that family bonds were the strongest, lamenting that she had not experienced such closeness for a long time.
Lin Langtian asked her why she hadn't joined the Lin family's celebration, mentioning her help in Beast Valley. Ling Qingzhu replied that she disliked noise and excitement. Observing Lin Dong, Lin Langtian mused that he hadn't changed at all and asked Ling Qingzhu if she had. She apologized for making him take a risk. That evening, Lin Qingtan visited Lin Langtian, applying medicine to his arm where the Black Panther had scratched him.
She confided that she used to do the same for Lin Dong when he got into fights while avenging their father, noting that Lin Dong had since learned to be clever. Lin Qingtan then invited Lin Langtian and Ling Qingzhu to dinner at their home, adding that her brother would be very happy to see them. Lin Dong went to the inn and found Ying Huanhuan eating simple bean cakes.
He playfully teased her about such a meal not suiting a Dao Sect princess. He then boasted about making Lei Zhong tremble earlier and insisted she join him for a celebratory meal of meat. Ling Qingzhu also joined the gathering. Lin Dong tried to get Ling Qingzhu to drink with him, but she ignored him, instead engaging in playful drinking with Ying Huanhuan, chasing and mock-hitting Lin Dong.
Lin Xiao and Master Yan observed the lively scene, with Lin Xiao reminiscing about his own youthful reputation. He then subtly inquired if Master Yan had chosen Lin Dong, but Master Yan replied that the mysteries of Heaven could not be revealed. Later, as everyone was deeply asleep after drinking, an Yi-Demon infiltrated the premises. The marten, emerging from the Stone Talisman, frantically woke Lin Dong, warning him about the Yi-Demon.
Lin Dong, still groggy, initially dismissed him as a rat, but the marten insisted he had saved him from the Yi-Demon. By the time Ling Qingzhu and Lin Langtian woke up, the Yi-Demon had already escaped, and they quickly pursued it. Lin Dong went out to search for them but found no trace. Instead, he encountered Master Yan. Lin Dong, calling him an "old fogey" and a "little thief," returned the Divine Movement Scroll to Master Yan.
Master Yan explained that those who master the kung fu in the scroll become a Talisman Guru in the Talisman's Guild. Lin Dong, unsure what a Talisman Guru was, was then told that Master Fu Zu, who sealed the Yi-Demons centuries ago, was a Talisman Guru. Separately, Lin Mu asked Lin Langtian if he had known about the Yi-Demon being in the Lei Clan from the very beginning and if everything that unfolded was part of his plan.
