Martial Universe: Season 1 Episode 35 Recap
> Martial Universe: Season 1 Recap
A black-clad woman brought Qingtan to a forest where Qingtan awoke, asking the woman her identity and remarking on a sense of familiarity. The woman revealed herself to be Bo Xuan, the Palace Master of the Dark Palace, and stated she had been searching for Qingtan for a long time. Master Yan had earlier alerted Lin Dong about a tribe capable of controlling time, suggesting that they might be nearby.
Following this, Lin Dong, Xiao Yan, Xiao Diao, and Master Yan cautiously approached the area where they spotted Qingtan and Bo Xuan. Bo Xuan explained that Qingtan was a descendant of the Dark Tribe and that she was taking her back to the Dark Palace. Lin Dong protested, but Bo Xuan asserted that Qingtan's duty was to preserve the purity of her bloodline and questioned Lin Dong's ability to protect her, especially given his current state.
Lin Dong pleaded with Qingtan to stay, but Qingtan, embracing him, tearfully explained her decision to leave. She expressed her fear of not forgetting Lin Langtian, stating that she needed to hide and that this was her only way to avoid a hellish fate or repeating past mistakes. She also reminded Lin Dong that he had other family, including Huanhuan and Miss Fairy, and urged him to let her go as this was her destiny.
Elsewhere, Master Yan found Huanhuan, whose hand had mysteriously aged. Huanhuan begged him not to let Lin Dong see her in such a state. Master Yan explained that Huanhuan's cultivation was not mature enough to handle the powerful and overbearing Ice Talisman. Recklessly acknowledging the ancestral talisman as her master had harmed her vital channels, disturbed her cultivation, and would continue to attack her life energy. Huanhuan acknowledged her father's prior warnings about this.
Master Yan suggested she return to the Dao Sect, but then somberly admitted it was too late. He revealed that even with all his cultivation, he could only extend her life for three more days. Huanhuan, surprisingly, found solace in this, stating that three days as Ying Huanhuan, full of life and emotion, was far better than a hundred years of emotionless cultivation in the Icy Snow Cave, as her father had prescribed for becoming the Ice Master.
She thanked Master Yan, finding three days to be enough. As Huanhuan ran through the forest, Master Yan, overcome with sorrow, lamented that a hundred years seemed too short, while three days now felt very long. Lin Dong, feeling unable to protect Qingzhu who was still recovering from her injuries, arranged for her senior sister, Xuan Su, to escort her back for healing. In a memory or flashback, Lin Dong offered Huanhuan a snack.
The two sat together, recalling past conversations. Lin Dong then proposed, telling Huanhuan he wanted to marry her, stating that three days as husband and wife were better than a hundred years of regret. Huanhuan, delighted, agreed but stipulated that she wanted a grand and perfect wedding, witnessed by all, and wanted the whole world to envy her, to which Lin Dong happily consented. Qingzhu awoke and quickly realized Lin Dong had sent her away.
She asserted that her injuries were merely her duty as a Talisman Envoy, meant to endure half the burdens aimed at the successor. Her sister probed about her relationship with Lin Dong, to which Qingzhu, recalling Lin Dong's past plea for her to protect him forever, confessed her confusion, feeling as if something profound had happened between them, yet also nothing at all.
Refusing to return to Taiqing Palace for recuperation, Qingzhu insisted on her duty to protect the Ancestral Talisman Successor, a duty her sister pointedly equated with protecting Lin Dong himself. Qingzhu responded by questioning if there was any difference between the two now. During wedding preparations, Huanhuan suddenly coughed up blood. She immediately instructed those present not to let Lin Dong see her, citing the tradition against the groom seeing the bride before the ceremony.
She insisted her wedding must be perfect and grand, to be remembered for a hundred years, bravely suppressing her deteriorating health and tears. Meanwhile, Lin Dong, aware of her worsening condition, ran into the forest, determined not to give up and to find a way to prevent her from only being his wife for three days. Lin Dong sought out Lin Langtian, requesting to borrow the Dimension Talisman to send Huanhuan back to the Dao Sect.
Lin Langtian agreed, but only if Huanhuan removed the seal on the Ice Talisman. Lin Dong was aghast, pointing out that this would release the Sixth Yi-Demon Prince. Lin Langtian, however, declared that this was exactly his intention; he planned to release both the Sixth Yi-Demon Prince and the Yi-Demon Emperor, believing it to be the only way to eliminate the problem by its root and achieve lasting peace.
He stated that he did not expect Lin Dong to understand and that if he did not get the Ice Talisman, Lin Dong would not receive the Dimension Talisman. After Lin Dong left, he returned, humbling himself to kneel before Lin Langtian and beg him to save Huanhuan. Lin Langtian scornfully mocked Lin Dong for bowing down for a woman, calling it shameful and disappointing, especially from someone so unlikely to yield. He then brutally beat Lin Dong.
Noticing the body of Lin Mu, the clan leader, Lin Dong confronted Lin Langtian, questioning what difference remained between him and the Yi-Demons. Lin Langtian responded with cold indifference and proceeded to extract Lin Dong's Yuan Dan. As the wedding hour approached, guests expressed confusion over Lin Dong's absence. Huanhuan, sensing trouble, was informed by Master Yan that Lin Dong was unwilling for her to be a wife for only three days, and was now in grave danger.
Huanhuan rushed to find him. Lin Dong, beaten and bound, defiantly questioned Lin Langtian's sense of shame. Huanhuan soon arrived, telling Lin Dong not to blink, to look closely, and remember her most beautiful moment. Lin Dong, refusing to accept her beauty for just one day, expressed his desire for her to be beautiful forever. Lin Langtian then urged Huanhuan to fulfill her purpose. Despite Lin Dong's desperate pleas, Huanhuan unsealed the Ice Talisman, releasing a horde of Yi-Demons.
Lin Langtian, terrified, cowered away as Huanhuan bravely confronted the demons. Lin Dong, still trapped, desperately struggled to break free. Some Yi-Demons possessed Lin Langtian. Lin Dong finally broke his restraints and urged Huanhuan to use her Ice Talisman. Prince and Huangfu arrived, quickly realizing that Lin Langtian was now allied with the Yi-Demons. Lin Langtian, unrepentant, attempted to justify his actions, claiming the Sixth Yi-Demon Prince was necessary to locate the Yi-Demon Emperor.
Huangfu dismissed his rationale as self-deception, accusing him of acting solely for himself and declaring that no more lives would be lost to the Yi-Demons. Lin Dong and Huanhuan combined their ancestral talismans to trap Lin Langtian. However, Huanhuan was gravely weakened. Lin Dong hesitated, flooded with memories of their shared past and her promise that their lives were inseparable. In that moment of hesitation, Lin Langtian managed to escape.
Severely injured, Huanhuan, in a fading whisper, conveyed crucial information about a Mysterious Crystal Stone buried deep underground, connected by thousands of yuan energy lines, requiring massive yuan energy to break.
