> Love of Thousand Years Recap

Following the ancient sacrifice of the Divine Dragon of Yinshan, a lone soul emerged from its spiritual lamp, eventually becoming the immortal Fu Jiuyun. His master's disappearance after a cultivation deviation left Fu Jiuyun with a persistent worry, prompting him to guard his Suzerain during spiritual practices.

Though the Suzerain found this unnecessary, he shared his own concerns about the impending visit from the White River Dragon King, suspecting the King harbored sinister intentions beyond coveting the mountain's treasures and might be aiming to take over Xiangqu Mountain itself. Meanwhile, a flashback reveals how Princess Yanyan, her country destroyed, accepted her new identity as Qin Chuan.

Her mission is to find the spiritual lamp to avenge her people, a quest she is willing to sacrifice her own life for. Now on Xiangqu Mountain, Qin Chuan uses paper theurgy to create a cat and bypass a barrier to a secluded cave. Inside, Fu Jiuyun suddenly appears and embraces her, playfully teasing her about her scent. Annoyed, Qin Chuan pricks him with an anesthetic needle. Amused rather than angered, Fu Jiuyun simply smiles before feigning unconsciousness.

Renowned for his musical talent and charming nature, Fu Jiuyun continues to playfully pursue Qin Chuan, much to her dismay. Finding him inescapable, she tries to repel him by applying a large amount of Osmanthus oil, a scent she believes immortals detest. When the oil fails to deter him, Qin Chuan invents a story about a childhood sweetheart named Doudou, claiming she came to the mountain to find him.

Her story is comically interrupted by Ermeng, one of Fu Jiuyun's disciples, who loudly proclaims he is not Doudou. Fu Jiuyun, aware of her deceit, plays along before confronting her privately. He questions her about both the "Doudou" lie and the needle attack, easily seeing through her fabricated excuses of self-defense. Overhearing disciples discussing the need for new barricades in the rear mountain due to the Dragon King's visit, Qin Chuan secretly follows them.

There, she encounters another woman, who reveals herself to be a disciple of the Dragon King. When the White Moon Nebula Mirror exposes the woman's true form as a hippocampus spirit, Qin Chuan, fearing her own identity will be revealed, cooperates with the spirit to shatter the mirror. Immediately after, she betrays and kills the spirit, then feigns terror, blaming the dead hippocampus for everything.

Fu Jiuyun arrives and instantly sees through her act, deducing that she collaborated with the spirit before attacking her from behind. He protects her from suspicion publicly but later confronts her in private, discovering a folded paper charm on her, confirming her use of paper theurgy. Qin Chuan stubbornly insists the charm was just a paper rabbit from her mother, but Fu Jiuyun dismisses her "lame acting."

Later, he places the mirror fragments into a tub of water, from which a handsome, innocent young man emerges. Qingqing, another of Fu Jiuyun's admirers, becomes jealous of his attention to Qin Chuan and warns her to behave, threatening that she could end up like the hippocampus spirit. Despite Qin Chuan's attempts to avoid him, Fu Jiuyun persists. While she is trimming branches, she falls from a ladder, and he swiftly catches her.

He takes a small mirror from her, which she, once again, claims is a gift from her mother. After the fall, Qin Chuan has a scratch on her face. Fu Jiuyun gives her a pot of healing Zhicao dewdrop cream, but she defiantly refuses to use it. The next morning, she awakens to find that Fu Jiuyun has prankishly drawn a turtle on her cheek.
