He warns Chun Hua not to be greedy. Chun Hua then meets Shangguan Qiuyue at a shop, finding him engaged in a dramatic scene with the owner.
Shangguan Qiuyue claims he came to pick up jade pendants he ordered for Chun Hua but was trapped by the owner, who refused to accept his large silver note. Shangguan Qiuyue proudly shows Chun Hua the two jade pendants, one carved with "Chunhua" and the other with "Qiuyue," explaining that he specifically commissioned them. Chun Hua scolds him for running around recklessly in such a dangerous situation.
Shangguan Qiuyue playfully dismisses her worries, stating he would simply kill someone and disguise himself if caught. Chun Hua questions how he acquired so much money. He reveals that his friend, Mr. Shi, lent him ten thousand taels, concerned that Shangguan Qiuyue might cease helping him. Chun Hua, realizing Mr. Shi is Bu Er, deduces that Shangguan Qiuyue’s extended stay in Eight Immortals City is for a more significant, potentially violent, purpose.
Shangguan Qiuyue promises to take her back to Thousand Moon Cave once "everything is over," hinting at killings. He then tells her he will be in a small woods whenever she wants to see him. Just as she expresses a desire to go back with him immediately, he vanishes. Chun Hua returns to Fengming Manor, where Xiao Bai awaits her.
He insists on addressing the poison on her body, asking if Shangguan Qiuyue forced it upon her, a claim she implicitly denies. Chun Hua reminds Xiao Bai that as the Leader of Wulin Alliance and heir of Fengming Sword, his concern should be for the Wulin's safety, not her personal affliction. She asserts that her poison is linked to Shangguan Qiuyue, and therefore, she cannot help them fight him, wishing only to survive.
Xiao Bai vows to uphold his duty to the Wulin and protect her. Chun Hua presses him, saying that people sometimes must make difficult choices, but Xiao Bai retorts that Shangguan Qiuyue’s evil deeds should not force them into such decisions. Unaware that Chun Hua's ailment is a "love poison," Xiao Bai promises to prevent its spread. Fearing that Xiao Bai's hatred will lead him to kill Shangguan Qiuyue, Chun Hua decides to warn him.
Knowing a solo departure would draw suspicion, she invites Feng Caicai and Leng Ning for afternoon tea. Feigning a stomachache, Chun Hua discreetly leaves, enlisting the tavern owner to detain Feng Caicai and Leng Ning by claiming they are her romantic rivals. Unbeknownst to Chun Hua, Feng Caicai had already grown suspicious of her sudden invitation and had alerted Qin Liufeng. He had been secretly trailing the trio and witnessed Chun Hua venturing into the woods alone.
Qin Liufeng swiftly reports this to Xiao Bai, who immediately rushes towards the bamboo forest. In the bamboo forest, Chun Hua finds Shangguan Qiuyue. Suddenly, Chief Leng appears. Shangguan Qiuyue, initially thinking Chun Hua betrayed him, accuses her of luring Chief Leng to kill him, calling her stupid. Chun Hua angrily denies it, expressing hurt at his distrust. Shangguan Qiuyue apologizes, clarifying his disappointment stemmed from her "stupidity." Chief Leng demands to know the location of the real "immortality fruit."
Shangguan Qiuyue then exposes Chief Leng’s past misdeeds: his conspiracy with Mr. Shi to obtain the "Dandelion poison" to eliminate Feng Qianwei for the "immortality fruit," his ruthless attempt to lead Qin Liufeng and his companions (including Chief Leng's own daughter) into a secret room to kill them, and his murder of Fu Lou to silence him. Chief Leng desperately denies the accusations. Shangguan Qiuyue gravely injures Chief Leng, who succumbs to his wounds.
At that moment, Xiao Bai arrives and uses the final move of the Fengming Sword to severely wound Shangguan Qiuyue. Shangguan Qiuyue, convinced of Chun Hua's betrayal, expresses profound disappointment. Distraught, Chun Hua tries to reach him, but Xiao Bai intercepts her, shielding her from Shangguan Qiuyue. In a gesture of despair and a symbolic severing of their ties, Shangguan Qiuyue removes the hair ornament he wore when they first met and throws it at Chun Hua.
Star Deputy Chief Ye then appears and rescues Shangguan Qiuyue. Overwhelmed by sorrow, Chun Hua’s poison rapidly spreads, causing her intense pain, and she collapses. Qin Liufeng, witnessing the severe reaction, reveals that it is a "love poison" that spreads most visibly when one is emotional. Xiao Bai immediately understands Chun Hua's deep feelings for Shangguan Qiuyue.
Xiao Bai then instructs Qin Liufeng to withhold the news of Chief Leng's death from Feng Caicai and Leng Ning for the time being. Chun Hua, holding the hair ornament, grieves alone. Xiao Bai approaches, admitting he was behind Qin Liufeng's surveillance. Chun Hua furiously accuses him of trampling on others' trust for the sake of the orthodox sects in Wulin.
She vehemently discloses the hidden truth behind the wordless memorial tablet in the study, revealing how it represents Fengming Manor's unspeakable self-reproach and "ridiculous pride" concerning figures like Nan Xinghe and Xiao Min. She then recounts how Xiao Bai used a "Guilty Confession Letter" to scheme against Fu Lou and now used her to track Shangguan Qiuyue.
Chun Hua questions if she, too, will ultimately become another silent, "sacrificed one" on that memorial tablet, rationalized by him as a necessary evil. Xiao Bai tries to defend his ancestors by stating Nan Xinghe was a killer. Chun Hua, however, perceives that she is merely a means to an end for Xiao Bai to eliminate Shangguan Qiuyue.
Xiao Bai clarifies that he did not intend to kill Shangguan Qiuyue but was forced to intervene because Chief Leng had already been fatally injured. He emphasizes that he cannot kill Shangguan Qiuyue because the antidote for Chun Hua's poison remains in his possession. Chun Hua, touched by his concern for her well-being, asks if his surveillance was truly just for the antidote. Xiao Bai then confesses his genuine affection for her, expressing his desire for her to live well. Though grateful, Chun Hua attempts to decline his affections, but Xiao Bai interrupts her, vowing to find a way to remove the poison from her, regardless of the method required.
