To control her, Xie Minghao threatened to bring her sister, Su Xieyi, to join her in captivity. Fearing for her sister's safety, Su Xieqing reluctantly complied. Later, Shi Chuchu learned of a fire at Warehouse No. 6 at the Lantian Bay construction site.
She rushed to Xie Minghao, distressed that the incident had ruined their plan to expose the faulty insulation materials during an upcoming shareholder inspection. Xie Minghao framed the fire as a timely opportunity, suggesting it was "God's will" helping her win back Li Zeliang. He advised her to accelerate their plan and pin the blame on Su Xieyi, who was responsible for procuring the materials, arguing that Li Zeliang was too blinded by his feelings to see the truth.
Shi Chuchu agreed. Meanwhile, Li Zeliang and Su Xieyi arrived at the fire scene. The preliminary assessment suggested that an overloaded ventilator caused a circuit fire, which then ignited the insulation materials. Li Zeliang found this suspicious, questioning why a small electrical fire would burn the entire warehouse's stock unless the materials themselves were flawed. Back at the company, Shi Chuchu confronted Su Xieyi with an investigation report.
It stated that the materials were Class B extruded board, not the company's required Class A standard, despite Su Xieyi having personally signed off on them. Ji Yingsong also noted that He Jiahua's media account released a video of the fire almost immediately after it started. Further linking him to the scene, Ji Yingsong mentioned that Su Xieyi had previously told him He Jiahua used the exact same type of inhaler. Ji Yingsong successfully arranged the meeting, which Li Zeliang planned to use to expose He Jiahua as the arsonist at the press conference. After pressing an evasive Xie Minghao to help find the now-unreachable supplier, Su Xieyi noticed his lunch consisted of snacks her sister loved. As Su Xieyi left, Xie Minghao received a call from He Jiahua. Ji Yingsong informed Li Zeliang that He Jiahua had agreed to meet at a hotel, insisting Ji Yingsong come alone. Li Zeliang told Ji Yingsong to wait downstairs and went to confront He Jiahua himself. As he expected, Li Zeliang found Xie Minghao in the private room instead. Both men acknowledged they had anticipated the other's moves.
Li Zeliang laid out his deductions: Xie Minghao had exploited Su Xieyi's trust, recommended a supplier whom he instructed to swap the materials, and directed He Jiahua to orchestrate the "exposés." Xie Minghao freely admitted to everything. Li Zeliang demanded he attend the press conference to clear Su Xieyi's name.
Xie Minghao agreed but presented damning, fabricated evidence against Su Xieyi: a bank statement showing a three-million-yuan transfer from the supplier to her, a forged dual contract with her signature authorizing the use of cheaper materials, and an audio recording of her seemingly negotiating the rebate. He warned Li Zeliang that with this evidence and a clear motive for revenge, Su Xieyi faced at least ten years in prison.
He then gave Li Zeliang an ultimatum: either save Su Xieyi by taking the fall, which would ruin Ocean, or expose her and send her to jail.
