Sang Zhi looked up the meaning of the bracelet Duan Jiaxu had given her, discovering it was meant to convey care from an elder. This revelation left her feeling quite disappointed. She informed her parents that Duan Jiaxu would pick her up early the next morning, as they were on the same flight to Yihe, allowing her parents to sleep in.

Meanwhile, Duan Jiaxu spent the night struggling to secure a ticket for that same flight, only breathing a sigh of relief when he finally succeeded. The next morning, before dawn, Duan Jiaxu appeared at Sang Zhi's door with breakfast. Noticing she wasn't wearing the bracelet he gave her, he was visibly disappointed. At the airport, Duan Jiaxu unexpectedly ran into Yuan Lang, a high school classmate. Yuan Lang, seeing Sang Zhi, immediately asked if she was Duan Jiaxu's girlfriend.

He then brought up rumors he'd heard about Duan Jiaxu and Jiang Ying being together, which Duan Jiaxu quickly denied. Sang Zhi casually inquired about Jiang Ying, only to realize that she was the same woman who had previously thrown water on Duan Jiaxu. Duan Jiaxu clarified that they had no such relationship, reminding Sang Zhi that he had promised to introduce her to any girlfriend he might have first.

Sang Zhi then brought up the other woman she had seen with him at the airport when she visited Yihe in high school. This prompted an internal realization that Duan Jiaxu had never forgotten his promise to her and had never lied. Upon arriving at her dorm, Sang Zhi waved goodbye to Duan Jiaxu from the balcony. Ning Wei, her roommate, eagerly pulled her aside for gossip.

Sang Zhi expressed her belief that Duan Jiaxu had been acting strangely recently, even more intensely than before, suggesting he might like her. However, she quickly dismissed the idea, thinking she was overthinking things, as Duan Jiaxu had watched her grow up and she couldn't convince herself he harbored such feelings. Ning Wei, however, saw nothing unusual in their age difference and advised Sang Zhi to interact with Duan Jiaxu naturally, as friends.

Her primary advice was, "If the enemy doesn't make any move, you do the same. But if he does, you must strike first." Duan Jiaxu had a breakthrough, realizing that the "person" Sang Zhi liked likely didn't exist and that she was, in fact, referring to him.

He promptly called Qian Fei for advice on how to pursue someone, acknowledging that Sang Zhi still believed he couldn't possibly like her and that he needed to clarify his intentions to his "girl." Later, intending to clear up Sang Zhi's misunderstandings, Duan Jiaxu called her to ask her out. Overhearing the call, Sang Zhi's roommates became excited. When Sang Zhi answered, Duan Jiaxu invited her to dinner, and they settled on Friday.

Sang Zhi also clarified to her roommates that she and Jiang Ming were just ordinary friends and that she had already made that clear to him, a statement which seemed to affect one of her roommates, Wang Wang. On Friday, Duan Jiaxu dressed up for the occasion. Sang Zhi, too, was meticulously styled by her roommates from head to toe, who then watched her leave with the feeling they were marrying off a daughter.

In the car, Duan Jiaxu mentioned he wanted to introduce someone to her, which startled Sang Zhi, making her fear he had a girlfriend he wanted her to meet. She initially tried to sit in the back seat but was gently guided by Duan Jiaxu into the passenger seat. At the restaurant, a woman was indeed waiting.

She was Siyun, Duan Jiaxu's superior and the producer of "A Dream of Jianghu," the same "sister" Sang Zhi had seen at the airport before. Duan Jiaxu exchanged a glance with Siyun before excusing himself. Siyun then explained the airport incident to Sang Zhi, confirming she was married and had only tagged along to help because Duan Jiaxu had a fever and her husband had a last-minute client meeting.

She also emphasized that Duan Jiaxu had been single ever since she'd known him. Duan Jiaxu then returned with several colleagues, introducing Sang Zhi as his "friend," a departure from his previous descriptions of her as his "sister" or a "relative's child." Sang Zhi understood that Duan Jiaxu had asked Siyun to explain everything to her so she wouldn't have any misunderstandings. With their dinner crashed by his colleagues, Sang Zhi felt awkward and suggested they go eat elsewhere.

Duan Jiaxu agreed and instead took her to a movie. During the wait, Sang Zhi messaged her roommates that she would be back late. Duan Jiaxu bought her a peach oolong, but the shop mistakenly gave them milk tea. Upon learning she was allergic to milk, Duan Jiaxu became visibly anxious and quickly went back to exchange it for pure tea. However, the movie plans were ruined when Sang Zhi developed a rash from her allergic reaction, and Duan Jiaxu insisted on taking her to the hospital immediately.
