He declined, explaining that athletes must adhere to a strict diet where spicy foods and seasonings are forbidden due to routine unannounced inspections. He noted that to achieve glory, he must live an ascetic life.
Tang Xin then recorded a video for her mother, proudly showing off the "beautiful apartment" her company provided. Later, she formally introduced herself to Shen Qingyuan, stating that as a representative of Rui Live, she would be responsible for documenting the shooting team's daily life. Hoping to start their shared living arrangement on a better foot after their initial awkward encounter, she promised to be a considerate roommate.
In a prior call, her boss, Mr. Zhou, had commended her for helping save their department and explained that having her live with Shen Qingyuan would foster communication between Rui Live and the shooting team, emphasizing Shen Qingyuan was her main focus as a national team prospect. However, despite her dismissive words, she seemed slightly amused by his persistence. During a team training session focused on rapport, which included a three-legged race and anti-interference shooting, Shi Xiaoci approached Shen Qingyuan to be her partner. However, Du Lingfeng intervened, bribing Shen Qingyuan with a month's supply of drinks to team up instead. Du Lingfeng then feigned a stomachache to get out of partnering with Shen Qingyuan, insisting he wanted to partner with Shi Xiaoci to prove their rapport. Confident that his long legs would give them an advantage, he was embarrassed when he stumbled and fell immediately after the race began. Later, during the anti-interference shooting training, where shooters had to maintain focus amidst distractions, Du Lingfeng performed well.
When it was Shen Qingyuan's turn, teammates urged Tang Xin to distract him, providing her with a script. They acknowledged the difficulty of the situation, as no one else knew about Shen Qingyuan's lost memories. Still flustered, she hurried back a second time for another item, accidentally dropping a sanitary pad which he picked up, creating an intensely awkward moment. Shen Qingyuan remarked on her "weird" items, and she retorted that all girls have them. He closed the bathroom door, reflecting on the unexpected challenges of cohabitation. Returning to her room, Tang Xin changed into pajamas, realizing she could no longer lounge in a nightgown.
Nervous, she emerged with a drink and accidentally bumped into Shen Qingyuan, spilling it on his sleeve. She profusely apologized, her anxiety heightened by his proximity. She confessed her discomfort, stating that their different genders were the most frightening part and that he had crossed a line by using her ladies' shampoo, showing a lack of boundaries. Shen Qingyuan apologized for his mistake, and they agreed to schedule shower times and establish clearer rules to better manage their living situation.
The next morning, Tang Xin awoke in a panic, fearing she was late. To her surprise, Shen Qingyuan had already prepared breakfast, including a portion for her. Later at the office, Mr. Zhou showed Tang Xin photos she took of Shen Qingyuan and Du Lingfeng, declaring them a "hot topic" that would boost Rui Live's daily active users. He assigned her the task of promoting them as an "officially-promoted" pair with the live stream title: "Du Lingfeng's Crossover into Shooting, Teaming Up with Genius Shooter Shen Qingyuan to Set Sail for a Dream Once Again."
He then asked about her relationship with Dr. Ding Fang; Tang Xin explained they met at a hospital and became friends. At the training grounds, the coach gathered the team to announce that China had won its first gold medal at the Asian Games in air pistol, their team's strong suit. He stressed the significance of the upcoming national competitions, World Championship, and Olympic qualifications, urging them not to be complacent and warning that training would become significantly stricter.
That evening, after Shen Qingyuan cooked dinner and insisted on doing the dishes, he fixed the internet so Tang Xin could watch TV. While she watched, he drifted off to sleep on the sofa, and his head suddenly fell onto her lap. Tang Xin gently urged him to go to his room to avoid catching a cold.
