Tang Xin, lying in a hospital bed, denies Shen Qingyuan's implication that she fainted because of their kiss. She resists a full examination, insisting she is fine and wants to be discharged, which prompts Shen Qingyuan to declare he must take responsibility for her. Dr. Ding Fang arrives, introduces herself, and takes charge, sending Shen Qingyuan out of the room.
Alone with Tang Xin, Ding Fang observes her reluctance to shake hands and her aversion to specific types of physical contact, suggesting it stems from a psychological block that must be confronted. Later, Ding Fang tells Shen Qingyuan that Tang Xin's over-sensitivity could be physical or psychological, but the cause remains unknown.
This leads Shen Qingyuan to recall potential environmental allergens from the scene where she collapsed, such as a wooden cabin, smoke, and rubber trees, wondering if they are the trigger. Meanwhile, Du Lingfeng arrives at the hospital with assistants carrying gifts for Tang Xin. He is confronted by Shi Xiaoci, who mocks him for needing help to carry fruit.
Du Lingfeng dismisses his assistants and takes the items himself, attempting to charm Shi Xiaoci, but she makes it clear she is not interested in rich men like him. After waiting for Shi Xiaoci to leave Tang Xin's room, Du Lingfeng pays a visit. Upon leaving, he encounters Zhou Zuguang, Tang Xin's superior from Rui Live. Zhou Zuguang, who came specifically to meet him, praises Du Lingfeng's decision to join the shooting team as an inspiring act.
He offers Rui Live's expertise in sports livestreaming to help build Du Lingfeng's public image and promote his company's sports brand. Du Lingfeng readily accepts the offer. Shen Qingyuan returns with a pomegranate and finds Tang Xin about to eat an apple from Du Lingfeng. He snatches the apple away, calling it dirty, and insists she eat the pomegranate for its higher Vitamin C content.
When Tang Xin complains that peeling it is too much trouble, he puts on gloves and peels it for her. Tang Xin asks Shen Qingyuan if he has a deep-seated emotional issue, and he admits that she is his issue. He later tries to identify the cause of her physical reaction by testing her with potential allergens from the scene, but none trigger a response.
Ding Fang visits Tang Xin again, leaving her contact information and encouraging her to call if she needs to talk. That night, Shen Qingyuan watches over a sleeping Tang Xin. When she murmurs his name, he instinctively reaches out to touch her face but pulls his hand back. The next morning, Tang Xin is moved to find a plate of perfectly peeled pomegranate seeds by her bed.
She calls Ding Fang and confides that she and Shen Qingyuan knew each other years ago before he suddenly disappeared. She explains that she always trusted he had a valid reason and wouldn't abandon their relationship, knowing his immense dedication to shooting. Ding Fang then reveals the truth: Shen Qingyuan was in a car accident that caused selective amnesia, a condition where the brain erases unwanted memories or people.
Ding Fang confirms she discreetly tested him and he has no memory of Tang Xin. Realizing this is the reason for his confusing behavior, Tang Xin decides not to tell him about their past, fearing it would disrupt his focus on shooting, which she knows is his most important goal. Shi Xiaoci confronts Shen Qingyuan about missing training to be with Tang Xin.
She advises him to find a balance between his personal life and his career, joking that if he can't, she will have to "take him back" from Tang Xin to secure him as her top mixed-team partner, before admitting she was kidding. Later, Liu Yu expresses disappointment, feeling Shen Qingyuan and Shi Xiaoci are a perfect match.
Shi Xiaoci clarifies that her interest in Shen Qingyuan is purely professional; she sees him as a "combat partner," not a romantic prospect, and confesses she would prefer he didn't get into a relationship at all. Du Lingfeng gives Liu Yu VIP concert tickets and asks about Shi Xiaoci's opinion of him. Liu Yu says Shi Xiaoci feels he is "different." Du Lingfeng misinterprets this as Shi Xiaoci playing hard-to-get because of his wealth.
Liu Yu corrects him, explaining that while many wealthy men pursue Shi Xiaoci, she finds him genuinely unique. Liu Yu adds that Shi Xiaoci sees getting into a relationship too early as "losing" in life and always wants to "win," which delights Du Lingfeng. Shen Qingyuan brings more peeled pomegranate seeds to Tang Xin.
After learning she lives alone, he expresses concern for her safety and insists on finding an apartment for them to share, reiterating his commitment to take full responsibility. Tang Xin calls Ding Fang, who supports the idea as a way for them to resolve their emotional issues. Ding Fang then contacts Zhou Zuguang—her former partner—and asks him to arrange a new dormitory for Tang Xin, specifically suggesting the now-empty apartment they once shared. Zhou Zuguang agrees. Soon after, Shen Qingyuan and Tang Xin pack their belongings and move. They arrive at the new apartment, each holding a key, ready to begin living together.
