During a livestream, Tang Xin praised Chen Hai as Haiya team's formidable No. 2 seeded player. Shen Qingyuan, who was watching the match, unexpectedly joined the commentary to explain that Chen Hai is a "late bloomer" who may start slow but possesses strong capabilities, showing confidence in his teammate. After the first round, Zhou Yue of the Southeast Team defeated Chen Hai, placing first while Chen Hai was second.

Shen Qingyuan took Chen Hai aside for a private talk, praising him as an excellent athlete. He particularly commended Chen Hai's proactive approach to addressing his mental state with a psychologist, a step many athletes hesitate to take. Shen Qingyuan reaffirmed his strong belief in Chen Hai and encouraged him to persevere.

Observing their return, Tang Xin noted that Shen Qingyuan was using his "praise techniques" and behaving more like a true captain by showing genuine concern for his team members. As a new round began with Du Lingfeng also present, Shen Qingyuan noticed Shi Xiaoci seemed overly tense. Her performance suffered, resulting in a poor score of 4. 2. Visibly frustrated, Shi Xiaoci stepped away to compose herself.

Du Lingfeng considered consoling her but ultimately decided against it, fearing his presence would only increase her distress. Later, during the men's competition, members of Zhou Yue's team verbally harassed Jiang Yitian and Yang Zhou to disrupt their performance, leading to a heated argument between the teams. When Shen Qingyuan stepped in to de-escalate the conflict, a pistol accidentally discharged, and the pellet struck him in the lower leg.

Despite the injury and against advice, Shen Qingyuan insisted on competing in the upcoming mixed team event. Limping, he approached Shi Xiaoci to encourage her, reminding her they were teamed up because they were the best from their respective squads and that she shouldn't feel inferior. He explained that while he usually controlled the match's rhythm, his injury meant he was now trusting her to take the lead, placing immense faith in her abilities.

Watching Shen Qingyuan’s hastily bandaged leg bleed through the dressing, Tang Xin's eyes filled with tears. Overconfident, Zhou Yue taunted Shen Qingyuan, suggesting a loss wouldn't be disgraceful given his injury. Shen Qingyuan retorted that even wounded, he wouldn't let Zhou Yue win. Seemingly rattled by Shen Qingyuan's unyielding presence, Zhou Yue erred on his first shot, earning a disdainful look from his partner, Yang Ling. In contrast, Shi Xiaoci, filled with new confidence, scored over ten points.

Despite his hand trembling from the leg pain, Shen Qingyuan relied on his superior technique to also score over ten. Throughout the intense match, with sweat pouring down his face, he and Shi Xiaoci maintained perfect synergy and ultimately defeated Zhou Yue and Yang Ling. Immediately after the match, Shen Qingyuan’s vision blurred and he nearly collapsed, but Chen Hai caught him.

As he was carried away on a stretcher, Shen Qingyuan grasped Chen Hai's hand, offering words of encouragement and trust for his upcoming match. In the ambulance, he insisted on watching the team competition's livestream on Tang Xin's phone. He only allowed himself a faint smile and a simple "Not bad" after his team secured victory. Tang Xin knew he was inwardly ecstatic.

Shen Qingyuan remarked that winning the winter training competition was a small step, but the team's growth was a giant leap forward. At the hospital, Shen Qingyuan opted out of local anesthesia for his procedure, claiming the official reporting process was too troublesome, and then deliberately feigned sleep. He overheard a phone call between Zhou Zuguang and Tang Xin, where Zhou Zuguang, on behalf of the training base, asked her to delete online videos of the incident.

Tang Xin argued it was futile as they were already viral, but Zhou Zuguang was more concerned with internal stability. He revealed that online opinion was split, with some supporting Shen Qingyuan while others attacked him, accusing him of bullying Chen Hai. Using his injury as leverage, Shen Qingyuan insisted Tang Xin stay by his side. Tang Xin needed to return to her company to handle the fallout from the livestream but couldn't persuade him.

When Zhou Zuguang called again, she stepped out and learned he wanted to produce a special feature on Chen Hai, hoping to generate public sympathy. Knowing Chen Hai's pride and difficult family background, Tang Xin was certain he would refuse. Meanwhile, Ai found Xu Dian and sought his forgiveness.

She claimed credit for leaking the story about Shen Qingyuan and Chen Hai fighting, which had turned public opinion against Shen Qingyuan, presenting it as an act of revenge on Xu Dian's behalf. Appeased, Xu Dian forgave her. Back at the hospital, Tang Xin explained the online rumors and her need to leave, but Shen Qingyuan feigned hunger. While she was gone getting food, he got a pen and paper from a nurse.

When she returned, he pretended he was about to injure his own hand to guilt her into feeding him. Seeing his ploy succeed, he smirked. He then presented her with an "Equal Relationship Agreement" to sign. Its terms required Tang Xin to stay with him at all times during his hospitalization, obey his reasonable requests—with the definition of "reasonable" being determined by him—and tell him why whenever she was unhappy. When she asked about his obligations, he stated he would be responsible for resolving all of her work-related issues, including the situation with Chen Hai.
