Shen Qingyuan informed Xu Dian that Ai, a trainee, had sent him the photos of Xu Dian taking Tang Xin to a business drinking party. Xu Dian retorted that publicizing the matter would harm Tang Xin's reputation as well.
Shen Qingyuan revealed he didn't have enough evidence to fully take Xu Dian down, but instead used a recording from Shi Xiaoci and Ai's social media account as a bluff to pressure him into withdrawing from the winter training live broadcast, a demand Xu Dian accepted. Later, when Shen Qingyuan recounted his success to Tang Xin, he acknowledged it was a team effort, prompting her to playfully tease him for being the only one there to claim the credit.
Troubled by a past betrayal, Zhou Zuguang sought out his ex-wife Ding Fang to discuss Lin, his former assistant. Ding Fang was annoyed that he was still fixated on Lin. Without explaining his own situation, Zhou Zuguang alluded to having seen Ding Fang with another man, remarking that when one loves someone to the extreme, they might not let go even after being betrayed.
Ding Fang didn't seem to grasp his implication and announced her intention to start a new life, urging him to do the same. Zhou Zuguang remained noncommittal, saying he would think about his future after handling important matters. Returning from an outing, Shen Qingyuan and Tang Xin ran into Zhou Zuguang and invited him to dinner, but he declined, citing work. As Tang Xin saw him off, she spotted Xu Dian also leaving and instinctively hid behind Shen Qingyuan.
Zhou Zuguang noticed her nervousness but encouraged her, calling her an energetic girl capable of handling such things. After a smug farewell, Xu Dian received a photo from Zhou Yue and praised him for his talent for creating big news. Remembering Ding Fang’s advice to praise Tang Xin more, Shen Qingyuan began awkwardly complimenting her on everything, from her clothes to her eating habits, making her feel uncomfortable.
Thinking he was upset with her, Tang Xin considered giving him a handmade gift, originally saved for a special occasion, to ease the tension. Meanwhile, a news story broke featuring a photo of Shen Qingyuan with his hand on Jiang Yitian's head during practice, with a caption accusing him of bullying teammates. Infuriated, Jiang Yitian and Yang Zhou explained to their team chat that Shen Qingyuan was simply guiding Jiang Yitian's shooting form.
To distract Shen Qingyuan from the negative press, Jiang Yitian renamed their group chat to "Shooting Team Praise Group," and the teammates decided to shower him with compliments. At the training ground, Zhou Yue admitted he provided the photo. An enraged Jiang Yitian tried to confront him but was stopped by Shen Qingyuan. Just then, Coach Zhang arrived to announce the final day of training, with assessments starting the next day.
The competition would consist of singles, mixed team, and three-person team events, proceeding directly to the finals without qualifiers. This motivated Jiang Yitian and his teammates to intensify their training. Tang Xin, gift in hand, tried to find Shen Qingyuan, but she missed his calls. When he found her, he was initially annoyed, but quickly remembered his new goal and began awkwardly complimenting her again, claiming his phone had died.
He admitted he was practicing how to praise people, so Tang Xin decided to wait before giving him the gift. Tang Xin later confided in Ding Fang about Shen Qingyuan's strange behavior. She explained that he used to be incredibly skilled at giving compliments in high school, far better than Zhou Zuguang and Du Lingfeng combined. She concluded that his current awkwardness showed no signs of his memory returning.
Despite his past disappearance, Tang Xin still wished for him to regain his memories and learn the truth of what happened back then, no matter how unpleasant. Shi Xiaoci encountered a drunk Du Lingfeng, who tearfully confessed his love and begged for a reconciliation. Shi Xiaoci firmly rejected him, throwing a scarf he had given her to the ground before leaving. Back in her room, she was visibly upset but remained resolved in her decision.
Later, while Shen Qingyuan and Tang Xin were preparing a nest for their pet hedgehog, Tang Xin tore her skirt just before her live broadcast was set to begin. Shen Qingyuan gave her his jacket to cover up and took her to the women's restroom, but Shi Xiaoci had locked it from the inside. Shen Qingyuan then forced open the men's restroom door, discovering Zhou Yue and his friends bullying fellow shooter Chen Hai.
Shen Qingyuan coldly ordered them to leave, rescuing Chen Hai. He then stood guard outside while Tang Xin changed inside. The assessment competition began, with Shen Qingyuan immediately taking a commanding lead, worrying the rival Southeast team. As Tang Xin was engrossed in her live commentary, Shen Qingyuan unexpectedly approached her.
