Shi Xiaoci volunteers to stand with her and promises to gather solid evidence against Xu Dian herself, leveraging her access at the shooting center. Worried this could be a false accusation or that Shi Xiaoci could be harassed, Tang Xin expresses her concern, but Shi Xiaoci reassures her of her own resilience.
Later, Tang Xin and Shen Qingyuan go to look for a small hedgehog. Shen Qingyuan, who isn't typically fond of animals, reveals he researched that cat food would attract it. When the hedgehog appears, Tang Xin’s delight brings a rare smile to Shen Qingyuan’s face, and he promises to bring treats every day to feed it with her.
Shi Xiaoci later approaches Shen Qingyuan, insisting that as Haiya's ace, he should focus on training while she takes on the responsibility of protecting Tang Xin. Shen Qingyuan, who had been deeply troubled by how to keep Tang Xin safe, is moved by her offer. During a televised joint training session, Xu Dian is on site directing the camera crew.
When Tang Xin arrives for her live stream, Shen Qingyuan offers to escort her away to avoid Xu Dian, but she insists she feels safe with him nearby and tells him to focus on his training. Xu Dian brazenly interrupts Tang Xin’s broadcast, suggesting they do a joint segment with an interview to make the training seem more interesting. Shen Qingyuan, seeing that Tang Xin can no longer work, steps in to shield her.
He warns Xu Dian that if he continues to cause trouble, he won't have the opportunity to do so in the future, prompting Xu Dian to temporarily back off. Worried about Shi Xiaoci's intentions, Tang Xin messages her, pleading with her not to get into trouble. Shi Xiaoci tells her not to interfere, explaining that she has a plan to "spook" Xu Dian without compromising herself.
Seeing Tang Xin messaging, Shen Qingyuan approaches and insists that he alone should be her protector, stating he doesn't trust anyone else to do the job properly. Tang Xin playfully calls him jealous, and he smiles at her happiness. During anti-disturbance training, the Southeast team employs psychological tactics. Zhou Yue specifically provokes Jiang Yitian by mentioning his family's financial struggles and medical bills, causing him to lose his temper as Xu Dian’s cameras roll.
Unaffected by the chaos, Shen Qingyuan is approached by Tang Xin, who gives him a notebook detailing each teammate's specific vulnerabilities. He gives Yang Zhou, who relies on superstition, a "lucky charm" and advises him that shooting is about minimizing mistakes, not chasing super-performance. For the impatient Jiang Yitian, he provides an MP3 player with recordings of shooting range ambiance to help him focus.
Chen Hai simply asks for more practice time, which Shen Qingyuan grants. The methods prove effective for the team. When it's Haiya's turn to interfere, Shi Xiaoci lures Xu Dian away. Feigning a complaint, she argues that as Shen Qingyuan’s partner, she deserves more screen time.
Xu Dian sees through her act, humiliating her by remarking on how her appearance has changed over the years and stating he prefers women who play "hard to get," not those who are "too eager." During the confrontation, he discovers her phone is recording the conversation. Meanwhile, Zhou Zuguang meets with Xu Dian and learns that a former anchor, Lin, was also harassed by him.
Xu Dian cruelly insults Tang Xin, calling her a "louse," and dismisses Lin as a "public bus," enraging Zhou Zuguang, who barely restrains himself from physically attacking him. Tang Xin, having seen Shi Xiaoci leave with Xu Dian, grows worried when Shi Xiaoci returns silent and unresponsive. When Tang Xin tries to find her, Shen Qingyuan stops her, afraid to let her out of his sight.
Shi Xiaoci’s disdain for Du Lingfeng deepens when she sees him receiving a dress he purchased for a potential girlfriend and later learns he is acquainted with Xu Dian. She then presents the recording of Xu Dian to Zhou Zuguang and Shen Qingyuan. She points out that for a public figure, his remark about preferring women who "play hard to get" is discriminatory. Zhou Zuguang acknowledges that while it's damning, the short recording isn't enough to act on alone.
Shortly after, Shen Qingyuan notices a recalled WeChat message from an account named "Milk Tea Lover," which Zhou Zuguang identifies as the old account of another victim, Ai. Armed with Shi Xiaoci’s recording, Shen Qingyuan confronts Xu Dian and plays back his demeaning comments. Xu Dian dismisses it as a joke and accuses them of colluding to entrap him. Shen Qingyuan then counters by revealing he knows about other evidence, including photos and the testimony of Ai herself.
