Go Ahead Episode 43 Recap
> Go Ahead Recap
Zhuang Bei wanted Tang Can to try acting in stage plays, so he contacted a friend who directed plays. After watching a performance with Tang Can, they went to the rehearsal hall to find the director. Tang Can looked at the actors rehearsing on stage, her eyes full of envy and longing. After the rehearsal, the director introduced Zhuang Bei and Tang Can to the play they were currently rehearsing.
He said that the actress playing Xiao Fei had been injured and could no longer perform, so they had to stop and find a new actress. Although there were understudies in the troupe, the director didn’t find them ideal. After meeting Tang Can, the director felt that she was a perfect fit for the lead female role. Zhuang Bei also praised Tang Can on the side.
The director was a little helpless — although Tang Can looked the part, whether she could perform would depend on her acting. He handed her the script and hoped she could come in for an audition the next day. Faced with the sudden opportunity, Tang Can was at a loss. She had many concerns — she had already planned to give up acting, and she had no experience with stage plays. She was worried she wouldn’t do well.
But the director said it didn’t matter; he just wanted her to read the script and give him an answer by noon the next day. Zhuang Bei saw Tang Can still staring blankly at the script after sending his friend off, so he encouraged her to read it first. He also believed Tang Can could definitely perform well. Encouraged by Zhuang Bei, Tang Can found some courage in her heart.
She had never been willing to give up acting, so she decided to seize this opportunity. The next morning, Tang Can told Li Jianjian about it, and Li Jianjian also supported her auditioning. With that support, Tang Can immediately called the museum to ask for time off and prepared to go audition at noon. The director was very pleased with Tang Can's performance, and she successfully landed the role.
After Tang Can went to make a phone call, Li Jianjian went to call Qin Meiyang for lunch. But Qin Meiyang mysteriously asked Li Jianjian to come into the room. When she entered, Li Jianjian saw that Qin Meiyang had tidied up the room neatly. Qin Meiyang even gave her a small speaker as a thank-you gift. She said she would move back in with Chen Ting today and thanked Li Jianjian for taking her in these past few days.
Seeing Qin Meiyang’s improved attitude, Li Jianjian offered a few words of advice. Qin Meiyang then apologized for what had happened during their childhood. As He Ziqiu had predicted, Li Jianjian hadn’t taken those childhood incidents to heart at all. After apologizing, Qin Meiyang looked visibly relieved, and her relationship with Li Jianjian improved significantly. Li Jianjian finished breakfast and went to the studio. Du Juan and Zhou Miao arrived at the studio together.
Du Juan asked about Li Jianjian’s situation, and Li Jianjian appeared calm. Seeing this, Zhou Miao got a bit angry and said that the company they had previously collaborated with was already asking whether Li Jianjian had plagiarized. He told her to quickly find the photo to prove her innocence — otherwise, if the plagiarism accusations stuck, they would have to pay a penalty for breaching the contract. Du Juan told Zhou Miao to drop the matter.
Without the photo, Li Jianjian couldn’t prove that she hadn’t plagiarized. He Ziqiu anxiously tried to find Zhao Huaguang to get the photo, but Zhao Huaguang was busy praying at temples across the country. When he heard He Ziqiu repeatedly bring up the photo, Zhao Huaguang became furious and felt He Ziqiu was being unfilial — his grandfather was sick, yet He Ziqiu only cared about the photo. After saying this, he hung up the phone.
Qi Mingyue brought her parents together to meet. Jin Yuxiang asked Qi’s father if he was divorcing her because he had cheated. Qi’s father said he simply couldn’t stand the years of oppression from Jin Yuxiang. Holding in his frustration, he finally let it all out and told her how he had suffered over the years. Jin Yuxiang didn’t understand and thought she had done everything for his own good. Qi’s father, however, felt that she had ruined him.
Through the issue of buying a house, he realized that Jin Yuxiang never reflected on herself, and he could no longer tolerate her oppression. So he was determined to get a divorce. Seeing how firm he was, Jin Yuxiang didn’t say anything more and agreed to go to the civil affairs bureau the next day to finalize the divorce.
Just as Jin Yuxiang was about to leave, Qi Mingyue held her back and, in front of her parents, spoke from the heart. Qi Mingyue acknowledged Jin Yuxiang’s years of hard work and also pointed out that Qi’s father had avoided problems because he didn’t want trouble, which had led to Jin Yuxiang becoming increasingly controlling. Qi Mingyue also comforted her mother, saying that even after the divorce, she would still live well and that she would always be there for her.
