> Go Ahead Recap
He Mei asks Li Haichao to add her on WeChat, as she intends to help He Ziqiu discreetly. She plans to introduce Li Haichao to her sister, who is a chain coffee shop manager, so Li Haichao can then introduce the manager to He Ziqiu as a friend. Later, He Mei visits Li Haichao at his noodle shop and follows him home, where Aunt Qian recognizes her.
At Li Haichao’s home, He Mei expresses concern that Zhao Huaguang will not easily release He Ziqiu. She also observes that He Ziqiu’s dessert shop business is stagnant due to high prices, which deters most customers. Tang Can attends her mother's birthday party with her father, her sister Tang Yan, and her mother's friends. Tang Can discovers that her mother has been telling relatives she works at a museum to maintain appearances.
During the meal, relatives bring up Tang Can's childhood acting, which makes her very uncomfortable. Her mother also tells friends about Tang Can’s talent for acting in her youth, stating that Tang Can later lost interest and changed careers. Tang Yan sarcastically remarks that she is glad she is not as beautiful as Tang Can, or she might have wasted her prime years acting.
After the unpleasant meal, Tang Can's mother scolds her for her "unseemly" Taobao shop and errand runner work, dismissing her aspirations to continue acting as "daydreaming." Tang Can's father attempts to mediate but fails to please either side. Tang Can returns home upset and confides in Li Jianjian. Li Jianjian suggests that since Tang Can no longer plans to pursue acting, she should not continue running errands to hone acting skills and should instead find a new job.
Upset, Tang Can misinterprets Li Jianjian's good intentions, feeling that Li Jianjian also looks down upon her errand work. They argue, and an angry Li Jianjian leaves for Ling Xiao's place. Earlier, Li Jianjian had met with Qi Mingyue after Tang Can asked her to deliver a household register page. Qi Mingyue took the page and immediately wanted to leave, stating her intention to move out. Li Jianjian retrieved the page and tried to convince Qi Mingyue to move back.
Qi Mingyue, however, felt that moving back would make her a joke and she could not overcome that psychological barrier. Li Jianjian, feeling very apologetic, repeatedly emphasized that no one was laughing at Qi Mingyue and even offered to move out herself until Qi Mingyue was ready to return. Qi Mingyue sighed, asking if Li Jianjian thought she was being unreasonable, which Li Jianjian quickly denied.
With tears in her eyes, Qi Mingyue admitted that she only dared to be unreasonable with them. She acknowledged that she had given up on Ling Xiao since he did not like her, but she still could not face Li Jianjian and Ling Xiao and requested more time. Qi Mingyue was also still upset, believing Li Jianjian and Ling Xiao were already dating, and had refused to talk much with Li Jianjian during a restaurant meeting.
Li Jianjian's attempt for Ling Xiao to apologize to Qi Mingyue was rejected by Qi Mingyue, who felt Li Jianjian was being insincere and had played her, causing Qi Mingyue to leave the restaurant abruptly. Returning to the argument with Tang Can, when Li Jianjian arrives at Ling Xiao's home, he asks what is wrong with her and Tang Can.
Learning they argued, Ling Xiao advises Li Jianjian not to take angry words to heart, but Li Jianjian insists she cannot control her thoughts and is furious. Ling Xiao then claims he can do something to make Li Jianjian stop thinking about Tang Can's issue. Li Jianjian, disbelieving, states she will not get over it that night. Seeing her disbelief, Ling Xiao steps forward and kisses Li Jianjian. Her mind instantly goes blank.
After he releases her, Li Jianjian shrinks into a corner of the sofa like an ostrich. She quickly returns home after Ling Xiao goes to shower. Ling Xiao, in contrast, remains calm with a faint smile, enjoying what is implied to be his first direct kiss with Li Jianjian, who, after recovering from the kiss, buries her face in the sofa out of embarrassment. The next morning, Li Jianjian discovers Qi Mingyue has returned to their shared residence.
Qi Mingyue teases Li Jianjian and reveals she has figured out that neither Ling Xiao nor He Ziqiu is aware of the other's feelings for Li Jianjian. As the sole confidante, she decides to simply observe the unfolding drama. Later, while walking out with He Ziqiu, Li Jianjian, still preoccupied with Ling Xiao's forceful kiss, asks He Ziqiu if he would ever forcefully kiss her when she is not thinking clearly.
He Ziqiu promptly denies it, joking that he would only shove her head into a refrigerator to cool down. Qi Mingyue also faces ongoing parental pressure. While dining with her parents, Jin Yuxiang scolds Qi Mingyue about both her love life and her work, clearly wanting to control all aspects of her daughter's life.
Annoyed, Qi Mingyue states she will go home for the night, and Jin Yuxiang, without objection, hands her several books, telling her to study them thoroughly to prepare for the civil servant exam. Qi Mingyue unconsciously accepts the books, only realizing later at home that she has once again been manipulated by Jin Yuxiang. She shoves the books into a drawer, intending to ignore them.
Later, Jin Yuxiang meets Qi Mingyue at a restaurant and scolds her again, this time for not replying to the messages of a blind date, Lu Jianyang. Qi Mingyue expresses disinterest in Lu Jianyang and refuses her mother's advice to pursue him. Later, Ling Xiao invites Qi Mingyue for lunch and encourages her to order for herself, leading Qi Mingyue to belatedly realize her lack of assertiveness, and she considers it normal that Ling Xiao does not like her.
Meanwhile, Li Jianjian's career is flourishing. Du Juan excitedly informs Li Jianjian at the studio that she has become famous. One of Li Jianjian's designs was acquired by a foreign company, garnering national attention, making her a celebrity on social media, and leading to her story being published in newspapers. Li Jianjian sits at her desk and sees a newspaper featuring her professional accomplishments. However, this success also brings complications.
Zhou Miao orchestrates an article promoting Li Jianjian with excessive praise and arranges an interview. Li Jianjian is furious, demanding Zhou Miao cancel the interview, stating that this kind of unworthy publicity is a taboo for her teacher, Peng Yulin. Zhou Miao refuses, insisting on prioritizing the studio's collective interests. Li Jianjian, genuinely angered, adopts a boss-like demeanor, telling Zhou Miao that he is merely an employee who should stick to his job.
Du Juan quickly signals Zhou Miao to stop talking. The earlier tension between Li Jianjian and Tang Can escalates once more. Tang Can's career remains stagnant, compounded by her sister's teasing, leaving her feeling unbalanced. Conversely, Li Jianjian's career has skyrocketed. Tang Can, feeling that Li Jianjian looks down upon her, reaches her breaking point and argues with Li Jianjian again.
Provoked by Tang Can's "nonsense," Li Jianjian, releasing her long-suppressed anger, grabs a pillow, straddles Tang Can on the sofa, and furiously hits her with it. Tang Can, verbally strong but physically outmatched, screams and dodges the blows. At the hospital, Feng Fifi approaches Ling Xiao with coffee, gossiping about his relationship progress with Li Jianjian, but Ling Xiao declines to discuss personal matters.
