Go Ahead Episode 26 Recap
> Go Ahead Recap
Tang Can hurriedly asked Li Jianjian who had bullied her, but Li Jianjian was crying too hard to speak. Seeing that she wouldn’t talk, Tang Can had no choice but to knock on the door across the hall and brought Ling Xiao over. As soon as she saw him, Li Jianjian hit him a few times, blaming him for her fight with Qi Mingyue. She even bit him on the shoulder.
Ling Xiao pulled her into his apartment and gave her an ice pack for her eyes. He told her to give Qi Mingyue a few days to calm down, and once she had, he would go and apologize. After crying, Li Jianjian felt a bit better. Seeing the bite mark on Ling Xiao’s shoulder, she massaged it for him. He Ziqiu came home and immediately noticed that Li Jianjian had been crying.
When he heard it was over a fight with Qi Mingyue, he didn’t think much of it and believed they would make up soon. He Ziqiu poured himself a glass of water and told them he had met with He Mei. Since Li Jianjian had left early that day, she didn’t know what had happened. He Ziqiu briefly shared what He Mei had said and their conversation. Li Jianjian and Ling Xiao stayed silent, unsure of how to comfort him.
He Ziqiu pretended to be fine in front of them. That night, Li Jianjian wanted to comfort him and went to his room to give him some candy. He was curled up under the blanket, only stretching out a hand to take it.
After he finished the candy, Li Jianjian held his hand in silence, just like when they were kids—back then, when other children teased He Ziqiu for being a burden, she used to visit him at night with candy, hold his hand, and tell him not to believe them because he wasn’t a burden. That day, Du Juan and Li Jianjian were supposed to negotiate a business deal with the international company regarding Three Childhood Mates.
But the translator Du Juan had invited couldn’t make it. Zhou Miao suddenly suggested that He Ziqiu had studied abroad and should be good at English. Du Juan quickly informed Li Jianjian, who then called He Ziqiu for help. He readily agreed and even showed up in a suit to help with the negotiation. Du Juan was impressed by his formal appearance and took a photo with him. Zhou Miao, watching from the side, felt a bit jealous.
Du Juan shared all the studio’s materials and her pricing expectations with He Ziqiu so he could prepare. He Ziqiu chatted smoothly with the representative from the company, Maixieer, and successfully secured the deal for them. After the meeting, they all went out for dinner. During the conversation, Du Juan mentioned that Li Jianjian was a student of honorary professor Peng Yulin. Zhou Miao was surprised and said that with such a great mentor, she’d have no trouble making money.
He suggested that if Peng Yulin could introduce her to some contacts in the art world, her works would sell even better. Li Jianjian disliked what he said and preferred to rely on her skills and artwork. Du Juan noticed her displeasure and kicked Zhou Miao under the table, signaling him to stop. He Ziqiu also defended Li Jianjian, saying that if Zhou Miao wanted to flatter powerful people to advance his career, he shouldn’t stay in her studio.
He Ziqiu pointed out that since Li Jianjian got into woodcarving, she’d constantly had injuries on her hands, while Zhou Miao’s hands didn’t look like those of a woodcarver. Feeling guilty, Zhou Miao said nothing more. That night, Ling Xiao fell asleep on the couch and had a nightmare. In the dream, Chen Ting confronted him, asking if he was abandoning her and Qin Meiyang.
He woke up in a panic when he heard the food delivery guy knocking, confused about whether it was a dream or real. He thought Chen Ting had really come. Li Jianjian happened to return home and took the food delivery. Seeing her, Ling Xiao hugged her for comfort. Sensing something was wrong, she let him hold her. Later, they went out for a jog. During a break, Li Jianjian asked how he had managed to return from Singapore.
Ling Xiao explained that Chen Ting had taken his documents, and while she was out grocery shopping, he searched her room. Qin Meiyang suddenly came in and threw his documents on the bed, saying Chen Ting had asked her to give them to him. Though he didn’t believe it at first, Qin Meiyang told him that since his heart wasn’t there, he should return to his own life and that she would take care of Chen Ting.
When Chen Ting came back and asked whether he had bought his plane ticket, he finally believed she had agreed to let him go. After their jog, Li Jianjian accidentally fell downstairs again. While Ling Xiao was treating her injury, she recalled falling down the stairs in her first year of high school. He Ziqiu had always thought it was Zhao Huaguang’s doing and felt guilty.
But Li Jianjian confessed she had fallen by accident and, afraid of being scolded by Li Haichao, asked Qi Mingyue to lie with her. He Ziqiu remembered confronting Zhao Huaguang back then, who hadn’t denied it. Li Jianjian and Ling Xiao couldn’t understand why Zhao Huaguang had silently taken the blame. That night, Li Jianjian posted anonymously on an online confessional forum about the awkward situation of being confessed to by two brothers.
At Li Haichao’s noodle shop, Aunt Qian was trying to set him up again. This time, she introduced a teacher named Hong Ying, who had learned about Li Haichao’s background and thought he was a good man. While they were chatting, He Mei suddenly showed up and said she needed to talk to Li Haichao. He stopped the conversation and asked Xiao Zhu to take care of Aunt Qian and the others while he took He Mei home.
He Mei said based on her understanding of Zhao Huaguang, he wouldn’t have let He Ziqiu go so easily and asked if Li Haichao knew what really happened. Li Haichao didn’t know either. Though He Mei said she had cut ties with He Ziqiu, she still secretly cared for him and had even analyzed his coffee shop’s foot traffic. She estimated that he had picked a bad location and priced too high—he was likely already losing money.
