Zhou Shengchen walked out of the ward dejected. Zhou Wenxing was already critically ill and dying. Zhou Shengchen asked Mei Xing and Shi Yi to go in and talk to Zhou Wenxing. Zhou Wenxing left a voice recording for Shi Yi. She wanted to spend the last moments of her life with Mei Xing and hoped to find him quickly in the next life. Zhou Wenxing claimed that she grew up running between the Mei family and the hospital.
She had no feelings for the Zhou family, only Zhou Shengchen and Zhou Wenchuan treated her the best. Zhou Wenxing admitted that she and Zhou Wenchuan knew a secret, but she couldn't tell Shi Yi anymore, lest it bring her bad luck. Zhou Wenxing deliberately arranged for Zhou Shengren to stay by Shi Yi's side so that no one would dare to harm Shi Yi again.
She also revealed that the danger Shi Yi encountered in Bremen was not accidental but man-made. Zhou Wenxing apologized to Shi Yi, saying that she intentionally made Shi Yi fall into the water that time because she wanted Zhou Shengchen to take Shi Yi away from this family and not get involved in the family's disputes. Only after listening to Zhou Wenxing's recording did Shi Yi realize that her face was already covered in tears.
Zhou Wenxing used her last breath to tell Mei Xing to take good care of himself. Mei Xing looked at Zhou Wenxing, who was breathing faintly, and cried heartbrokenly. Zhou Wenxing, instead, comforted him not to be sad. Mei Xing promised to stay by her side all the time. Zhou Wenxing died peacefully in Mei Xing's arms. Mei Xing was heartbroken with grief. Zhou Wenchuan rushed to the hospital upon hearing of Zhou Wenxing's death. Zhou Shengchen punched and kicked him. Wang Man and Qin Wan hurried over to stop them. Zhou Shengchen was furious. Wang Man accidentally miscarried and suffered severe bleeding. Qin Wan was frightened and shouted for help. Zhou Wenchuan quickly picked up Wang Man and went to find a doctor. Zhou Shengxing arrived shortly after and saw Zhou Wenxing's body lying on the cold bed. He cried uncontrollably.
Du Feng came to find Zhou Shengchen to go to the police station for investigation. Hong Xiaoyu happened to come to find Shi Yi. Only then did she realize that Du Feng was a police officer. She rushed up to argue with Du Feng, questioning why he had concealed his identity. Shi Yi quickly pulled Hong Xiaoyu away.
Mei Xing sat dejected on the doorstep of the Zhou family's old residence, and couldn't help but think of all the little things he and Zhou Wenxing had experienced together since childhood, as well as Zhou Wenxing's dying wishes. His heart was filled with mixed emotions. Mei Xing suddenly heard a familiar voice calling him. Turning around, he saw Zhou Wenxing appearing before him. Mei Xing reached out to grab her, but Zhou Wenxing vanished.
Only then did Mei Xing realize he was having a hallucination. Zhou Shengchen brought Shi Yi home to attend Zhou Wenxing's funeral. The entire clan came to mourn Zhou Wenxing. Zhou Shengchen personally placed Zhou Wenxing's memorial tablet in the Zhou family's ancestral hall. Mei Xing stood at the back of the procession and bowed deeply three times towards the ancestral hall. Qin Wan cried inconsolably.
Shi Yi did not want to tell Zhou Shengchen the content of the recording, because she did not want Zhou Shengchen to be sad and disappointed again. Shi Yi did not want Zhou Wenxing to compensate herself, she only hoped that her spirit in heaven would bless Zhou Shengchen. Shi Yi went outside and saw Zhou Shengren squatting under a tree crying by himself, so she spoke kindly to him. Zhou Shengchen didn't eat, drink, or sleep for several days.
Because of excessive grief, his voice became hoarse. Shi Yi felt heartache and desperately tried to comfort him, but he couldn't let go. Zhou Shengchen went to the police station to give a statement. Du Feng advised him to control his grief. Zhou Wenchuan was punished to reflect in the ancestral hall. He sat at the entrance looking dejected. Zhou Shengxing sent someone to summon him to the ancestral hall and without asking any questions, kicked him several times.
Zhou Wenchuan revealed that both he and Zhou Wenxing were Zhou Shengxing's children. He called Zhou Shengxing "Dad" and begged Zhou Shengxing to plead for him. He didn't want to be confined to the ancestral hall for the rest of his life like the Fourth Uncle. Zhou Shengxing was also helpless. The Zhou family belonged to everyone, not just him and Qin Wan, and since Zhou Wenchuan had made a mistake, he must be punished. He only told him to take care of himself.
