Zhou Shengchen was ready to go out early in the morning. Shi Yi hurried after him, forcefully pulled him onto the bed, and drew the curtains tightly. Zhou Shengchen was completely baffled. Shi Yi turned on the projector, and the brilliant night sky with twinkling stars immediately appeared on the ceiling, illuminating every corner of the room. Shi Yi welcomed Zhou Shengchen to their home.
Since she often worked overtime at night, she specially prepared this to help Zhou Shengchen pass the lonely hours. Zhou Shengchen was very touched. He quietly immersed himself in the moment on the bed for a few minutes, then got up to go buy a power strip. Shi Yi didn't know whether to laugh or cry at him. Zhou Shengchen went to a nearby supermarket to buy a power strip. A sales assistant pulled him aside to promote products.
Unable to withstand her persistent pestering, Zhou Shengchen bought a large bag of snacks. Tonight was the first night Zhou Shengchen and Shi Yi lived together. Zhou Shengchen had a video conference to attend. Shi Yi didn't have time to buy groceries, so she had to look through all the ingredients at home and made scallion oil noodles and a few small cold dishes.
Zhou Wenxing and the housekeeper sat by the lake chatting and couldn't help but talk about Mei Xing. Zhou Wenxing recalled all sorts of interesting childhood memories at Mei Xing's house and was eager to see him. Lian Sui and the housekeeper then accompanied Zhou Wenxing to Mei Xing's residence. Lian Sui curiously pressed Mei Xing about his criteria for choosing a girlfriend. Mei Xing tried his best to avoid the question. Lian Sui persistently pestered him.
Mei Xing wrote the first line of a ci poetry title and wanted to find someone who could provide the second line. He casually sent the first line to Zhou Shengchen. Zhou Shengchen worked late in the study. Shi Yi brought him a cup of hot milk. Zhou Shengchen received an email from Mei Xing and asked Shi Yi to try and provide the second line. Shi Yi quickly came up with it.
Zhou Shengchen immediately sent it to Mei Xing. Mei Xing guessed that it was Shi Yi who had written it and considered her a kindred spirit. Zhou Shengchen fell asleep on the sofa after finishing his work. Shi Yi prepared pajamas for him and asked him to come back to bed to sleep together. In the middle of the night, Shi Yi rolled up all the blankets. Zhou Shengchen was willing to be cold rather than wake her up.
The next day, Zhou Shengchen specially chartered a covered boat to take Shi Yi on a lake tour and have a meal. A pair of university students also wanted to have dinner on a boat, but there were no extra boats available. The owner suggested that Zhou Shengchen and his wife share the boat with them. Shi Yi readily agreed. Although they had companions, it didn't affect Shi Yi's mood at all.
She and Zhou Shengchen talked about everything from ancient times to the present, their conversation lively and enthusiastic. Suddenly, heavy rain began to fall. The young couple disembarked first and left. Zhou Shengchen took off his outer coat and shielded Shi Yi as they hurried back to where they parked the car. Zhou Shengchen had prepared clean clothes in advance. He stood outside the car in the rain, letting Shi Yi get in to change.
After Shi Yi changed her clothes, she called Zhou Shengchen into the car to take off his wet clothes. Shi Yi stared intently at him, and Zhou Shengchen felt very embarrassed. On the way home, Zhou Shengchen casually asked Shi Yi if she liked children. Shi Yi truthfully answered that she did. After returning home, Shi Yi deliberately put on a sexy nightgown, wanting to have a child with Zhou Shengchen as soon as possible.
Unexpectedly, what Zhou Shengchen wanted was a Western-style wedding with flower girls. Shi Yi felt very awkward and had to go back to sleep by herself. Later, Zhou Shengchen, realizing the situation, quickly went back to the bedroom to sleep, trying to please Shi Yi. Just as Shi Yi and Zhou Shengchen got up, Shi Yuanyuan arrived at Shi Yi's house with her grandpa and grandma.
Shi Yi used the excuse that Zhou Shengchen had to go to the research institute and quickly ushered him, still wearing slippers, out the door. Zhou Shengchen was worried that her grandpa and grandma would be angry about them living together. Shi Yi promised to handle it properly. Her grandpa scolded Shi Yi severely without asking for any explanation.
Shi Yuanyuan tried hard to speak well of Zhou Shengchen and pulled her grandpa to see the crabs Zhou Shengchen was raising, helping Shi Yi out of the awkward situation. Zhou Wenxing wanted to order a few suits as a birthday gift for Mei Xing. Wang Man's second brother was good at making suits, but he insisted on personally taking measurements for clients. Zhou Wenxing wanted to give Mei Xing a surprise, but now she had no choice but to give up.
