Falling Into Your Smile Episode 10 Recap
> Falling Into Your Smile Recap
In Korea, Lu Sicheng diligently trained under the watchful eye of Hierophant. After a successful game, Hierophant commended Lu Sicheng on his performance. Later, when Hierophant's team, TAT, won a match, he decided to let Lu Sicheng play in the next one. Lu Sicheng didn't disappoint, leading the team to another victory. Following this, Hierophant announced that he and Lu Sicheng would rotate in future matches, asking the audience for their support.
Due to their similar playing styles, Korean netizens dubbed them the "light and shadow duo." When Lu Sicheng learned of the nascent esports scene in China, he decided to return home. As a parting gift, Hierophant gave Lu Sicheng the Rubik's Cube they often played with, telling him to return it when they met again on stage.
Lost in these memories, Lu Sicheng was pulled back to the present by a frantic call from Liang Sheng, a player from a neighboring team. Liang Sheng explained that Hierophant had gone missing at the mall after their practice match. With Hierophant's interpreter unexpectedly gone, Liang Sheng couldn't communicate with him and was at a loss. As Lu Sicheng prepared to leave, Tong Yao, concerned about the impending rain, approached him.
However, Lu Sicheng was dismissive, coldly rejecting her offer of an umbrella and remarking that her fawning wouldn't get him to change the nickname he had for her. Feeling her kindness was unappreciated, Tong Yao quietly returned to her seat. Lu Sicheng met Liang Sheng and headed to the mall, where they found Hierophant engrossed at a claw machine. Hierophant revealed he had come to China partly because of Liang Sheng, whom he had chosen as his new support.
Their conversation quickly turned competitive, with Hierophant declaring his intention to defeat Lu Sicheng on the Chinese stage. Lu Sicheng reminded him of their recent practice match where Hierophant lost, to which Hierophant claimed he had merely let him win out of courtesy. They resolved to face each other in the upcoming National Championship. Back at the base, the team was playing board games when Xiao Rui sent Tong Yao to bring an umbrella to Lu Sicheng.
At the mall, she found Lu Sicheng and Hierophant with Liang Sheng. Hierophant, apologizing for the trouble, gifted all his claw machine winnings to Liang Sheng. Lu Sicheng, in turn, playfully hung a rabbit plushie he had won around Tong Yao’s neck. As heavy rain began to fall, Lu Sicheng draped his jacket over Tong Yao, and the four of them walked back to the base.
Upon their return, Lu Sicheng, who had given his jacket to Tong Yao, sneezed from the cold and went upstairs to take a hot shower. After he left, Xiao Rui and Fatty noticed the rabbit plushie on Tong Yao. When Fatty learned where it came from, he playfully tried to snatch it, prompting Tong Yao to quickly protect it and retreat. The draw ceremony for the National Championship soon commenced, hosted by Chen Jinyang and Xiao Sen.
Jian Yang, noticing Tong Yao and Lu Sicheng chatting closely, made a threatening gesture towards the ZGDX team before his team, CK, took the stage and drew Group B. Next, Lu Sicheng went up, looking unwell. Tong Yao asked if he was sick, but he dismissed her concern, trying to suppress his coughs and claiming he'd be fine in two days. He drew Group A for ZGDX.
Subsequently, Ai Jia of YQCB went on stage, shamelessly pulling Chen Jinyang into a photo before descending. The draw concluded with the announcement that the opening match of the National Championship would be ZGDX versus CK. After returning to the base, Lu Yue and God Ming briefly discussed the results. In her room, Tong Yao attempted to research their opponents but soon gave up, opting to scroll through encouraging comments from fans online, which quietly boosted her morale.
The long-awaited opening match began before a large crowd, with Tong Yao's parents watching from home. As CK was introduced, ZGDX appeared at the tunnel entrance. Overwhelmed by nervousness, Tong Yao hesitated. Noticing her apprehension, Lu Sicheng turned back and gently patted her head to reassure her. Still tense, Tong Yao walked at the end of the line, her voice strained during the team introductions. The teams entered the ban/pick phase. CK’s first ban targeted Tong Yao's signature Shikigami, Tamamo-no-Mae.
ZGDX retaliated by banning Lucky's Tanuki. Both teams continued to focus their bans on mid-lane Shikigami, and ZGDX also banned Jian Yang’s renowned Aobozu. During the pick phase, Lu Sicheng, determined to end the game quickly, controversially chose Youko. The phase concluded with ZGDX fielding an aggressive early-game lineup, while CK opted for a composition suited for the late game. Moments before the match started, Tong Yao was struck by a severe stomachache.
Unaware her microphone was live to the production team, she loudly declared her urgent need to use the restroom, much to the amusement of her teammates. As her discomfort grew, Tong Yao wanted to withdraw, but it was too late—the match was about to begin.
