Love Between Fairy and Devil Episode 12 Recap
> Love Between Fairy and Devil Recap
Changheng, confined to the Fountain Palace under Lord Yunzhong's vigilant watch, discusses the pervasive surveillance with his subordinate, Qingchuan. Despite the widespread belief that Xiao Lanhua is a spy for the Moon Tribe, Changheng vehemently defends her. Danyin arrives, expressing her shared conviction that Xiao Lanhua is no traitor, recalling that Xiao Lanhua once saved her life and offering her assistance should Changheng devise a rescue plan. Seizing the opportunity, Changheng proposes a body swap with Danyin.
Acknowledging it as the only viable path to evade the guards, escape Shuiyuntian, and travel to the Moon Tribe to rescue Xiao Lanhua, Danyin agrees. With the exchange complete, Changheng, now in Danyin's body, cautiously departs the Fountain Palace. Meanwhile, at Cangyan Sea, Xiao Lanhua, occupying Dongfang Qingcang’s body, finds herself at mealtime. Initially apprehensive that the Moon Tribe eats bloody, raw organs, she is surprised to find the presented dishes look even more delectable than those in Shuiyuntian.
Dongfang Qingcang, currently inhabiting Xiao Lanhua's body, subtly coughs to remind her to maintain her composure. Recognizing the need for discretion, Xiao Lanhua dismisses the servants. Dongfang Qingcang attempts to instruct her on proper Moon Tribe etiquette, but she rebuffs him, chastising him for the past cruel actions that have left him isolated and friendless. Annoyed, Xiao Lanhua, in her role as the Moon Supreme, declares she has no appetite and orders all the food removed.
Dongfang Qingcang protests, but she retorts that he should go hungry and reflect on his sins. Following the mealtime debacle, Dongfang Qingcang, still in Xiao Lanhua’s body, closely shadows her. Soon after, Xun Feng and the Kings of Southern and Northern Youxian arrive to meet the Moon Supreme. They express surprise at the presence of the fairy in the throne room. Xiao Lanhua, as Dongfang Qingcang, tersely states that she is accustomed to the fairy's company.
When the Northern Youxian King suggests it is inappropriate for a fairy to participate in state affairs, they are quickly silenced. They present their meticulously drafted plan for a counter-attack on the Heaven Realm. The Kings elaborate on their strategy: to attack Shuiyuntian’s weakest point and utterly destroy it, "killing all gods and Buddhas, not even sparing a single blade of grass." Enraged, Xiao Lanhua throws the plan into a nearby brazier.
To cover for her, Dongfang Qingcang (as the fairy) scolds the Kings for presenting such a flawed plan. Following his lead, Xiao Lanhua (as the Moon Supreme) announces that the plan is no longer needed. She claims that she—as the Moon Supreme—has been reflecting on the sin of patricide and has decided to abandon cruelty in favor of peace for the Three Realms. The Kings are bewildered but awkwardly accept the explanation.
Later, Dongfang Qingcang chastises Xiao Lanhua for her absurd speech, claiming she has ruined his fearsome image. He sternly warns her that Xun Feng, having grown up with him, is the most likely to discover their body swap, which would result in their demise. He reiterates that lightning is expected the following night, and until then, she must not leave his side.
Back at the Fountain Palace, Danyin, in Changheng’s body, greets Lord Liyuan, almost instinctively calling him "Dad" before correcting herself. Liyuan inquires about Danyin’s whereabouts, and Danyin (as Changheng) thwarts his attempt to take her home by praising her competence. Danyin then probes Liyuan about Xiao Lanhua’s identity, suggesting she might be from the ancient Xilan clan. Liyuan dismisses the idea, stating he carefully examined Xiao Lanhua’s true form and confirmed she is not of Xilan origin.
Danyin is secretly relieved. After Liyuan departs, Rong Hao arrives. Flustered by Rong Hao, who knows Changheng intimately, Danyin tries to send him away. Sensing her unusual behavior, Rong Hao presses her until she reveals the truth of the body swap. In the Moon Palace, when it is time for the Moon Supreme to bathe, an argument ensues. Dongfang Qingcang, in Xiao Lanhua's body, is terrified of his body being seen naked.
To resolve the issue and maintain privacy, Xiao Lanhua (as Dongfang Qingcang) ends up washing Dongfang Qingcang (as the fairy). A maid, Dieyi, observes this and reports the Moon Supreme’s increasingly strange behavior to Xun Feng, confirming his suspicions. Xun Feng challenges "the Moon Supreme" to a duel. Xiao Lanhua, prompted by Dongfang Qingcang, commands Shangque to fight in her stead. Xun Feng then mentions "Black Slash," a move Dongfang Qingcang had promised to teach him as a child.
When "the Moon Supreme" shows no recognition of the move's significance, Xun Feng concludes he is an imposter and that the real Moon Supreme is the fairy. He reports this to the Lord of Haishi City, who provides him with a weapon infused with an evil spirit capable of killing a weakened Dongfang Qingcang. In the Dark Pine Forest, the pair awaits the lightning needed to swap back.
Xiao Lanhua makes Dongfang Qingcang swear not to imprison her again, and he agrees to her proposed oath: that he go without bathing for ten thousand years if he breaks his word. In turn, he forbids her from ever returning to Shuiyuntian. Just as the lightning strikes, the Lord of Haishi City attacks. Dongfang Qingcang instinctively uses his body to shield Xiao Lanhua's. Suddenly, Changheng arrives and intercepts the evil spirit, but he is gravely wounded in the process.
Xiao Lanhua (in Dongfang Qingcang's body) rushes toward him, but Dongfang Qingcang (in Xiao Lanhua's body) pushes her away to safety. The Lord of Haishi City orders a retreat, noting that Changheng is already afflicted by the evil spirit and their priority is capturing the "goddess." Changheng turns, calling out "Orchid!" to the fairy he came to rescue. However, Dongfang Qingcang, inhabiting her body, glares back at him, a look of contempt Changheng cannot comprehend.
