Wu Zhenfeng pointed to a small room behind their current location, describing it as comfortable and even offering to take Chen Yu to enjoy the moon that night as a gesture of hospitality.
Meanwhile, Yang Xingquan personally sought out Yu Miao, attempting to persuade him to fully commit. He spoke of Yu Miao's past achievement in developing a withdrawal drug for a rehabilitation center but emphasized that his true value lay in making Magu. Yang Xingquan highlighted Yu Miao's failure to produce the Big Yellow Capsule, presenting Mengka as his last chance.
He promised to give Yu Miao everything Hao Dong could, and even allow him to rename the Big Yellow Capsule once it was successfully produced. Yu Miao, desperate for the formula, eagerly assured Yang Xingquan that he could achieve great success if he was given Chen Yu's Big Yellow Capsule formula. The next day, Chen Yu and Wu Zhenfeng were brought before Yang Xingquan, who greeted Chen Yu, pondering whether to call him "Mr. Yang" or "Boss Yu." Yang Xingquan immediately expressed his suspicion that Chen Yu was part of a police setup. Chen Yu, attempting to keep his cover, mentioned Yang Ling as the reason for his silence and stated he was "naturally at odds" with Yang Yi.

Yu Miao, terrified, begged Yang Xingquan not to shoot, emphasizing that without Chen Yu and the precise formula ratio, he couldn't make the Big Yellow Capsule, and if he died, everything would be lost. She explained that Yang Xingquan did everything for Yang Ling and wanted his daughter to understand him, asserting that no one in the world loved Yang Ling more than her father. Yang Ling, however, remained resolute, demanding to know why Yang Xingquan wouldn't come himself. Yi Qiong sidestepped the question by saying Yang Xingquan was waiting for her and revealed that Chen Yu was also there, suggesting Yang Ling would find all her answers if she went.
The police were closely monitoring Yang Ling's movements, anticipating that she would deliver an item to Chen Yu, enabling him to transmit their location. Just as Chen Yu and Wu Zhenfeng were enduring a severe beating, Old Sha unexpectedly made another video call. He informed Yang Xingquan that his men now had the upper hand, having captured Old Zhuo and his associates.
Old Sha sternly warned Yang Xingquan that if anything happened to Wu Zhenfeng, his goods would never reach Hong Kong. Despite their dire situation, Wu Zhenfeng humorously lamented that no one would bring him wine if he died, and Chen Yu, battered but defiant, taunted his attackers, reminding them of his past fighting prowess and his three years as a police officer. Seeing Yang Xingquan hesitate, Yi Qiong impulsively snatched the keys from Er Liang, opened the cell door, and then pulled Yang Xingquan away, reflecting on how she had similarly entrusted her life to him in the past. At that moment, Old Sha called again, confirming he had reached an agreement with Yang Xingquan and Old Zhuo for the shipment, but reiterated his condition that Wu Zhenfeng must be present when the goods were received.
Yang Ling managed to enter the cell to give Chen Yu water and medicine, though she couldn't free him. While embracing him, she discreetly passed him a tracker. Chen Yu, in a low voice, instructed her to hide it securely and not activate it until the time and location of the drug manufacturing were confirmed, as it was unsafe to carry it before then.
As dawn approached, Chen Yu and Yu Miao were removed from their confinement and taken away in a vehicle, while a sleeping Yang Ling remained unaware. The police, monitoring Chen Yu's movement, noted his entry into the country but the lack of Wu Zhenfeng, and lost the signal as the vehicle went off-road into a jungle. Yang Ling, waking up later, desperately sought Chen Yu, only to be told by Er Liang that he had been taken to "where he should go." At the drug production site, Chen Yu, after observing the setup, made a resolute phone call to Yang Xingquan.
He firmly stated he would not begin mass production until he saw both Wu Zhenfeng and Yang Ling, offering only a sample to prove his capabilities in the interim. Yang Xingquan, cornered, reluctantly agreed to come to the location. Chen Yu then asserted his authority, ordering everyone, including Yu Miao, out of the lab, declaring he was about to begin. Before leaving to meet Chen Yu, Yang Xingquan felt a sense of unease.
He embraced Yi Qiong tightly, kissing her, and expressed his gratitude for her role in providing him a few days of peaceful life back in Yunhe.
