Run Yu, after sedating Jin Mi, once again trapped her within Xuanji Palace with a barrier. He declared to a struggling Jin Mi that he would never let her go and that their wedding would proceed as planned. When Jin Mi awoke, realizing she was confined, she tried to use a summoning spell to call Yan You but discovered the barrier this time suppressed all her magic.
Liu Ying, noticing Xu Feng's low spirits, urged him to uncover the true culprit who had framed him for Water Immortal's death and caused him such suffering.
Xu Feng confessed a reluctance to face the truth, explaining that his past investigation into an assassin who tried to kill him and frame Run Yu in the Heaven Realm had spiraled out of control, implicating a vast network including Yan You, Rat Fairy, Su Li, Water Immortal, the Dongting Lake Water Family, and even his own parents.
He felt that the truth, in that instance, only led to endless conflict and no real winners, leaving him with a deep weariness. Liu Ying acknowledged his perspective but insisted that misdeeds must be answered for, warning that an unpunished murderer might harm others. Xu Feng admitted his soft-heartedness. Liu Ying then gently reminded him that his judgment was clouded by personal involvement, especially since the person in question held affection for him.
Expressing regret for involving him in this complex matter due to the potential trouble it could cause Mu Ci and the King of Bian City, Xu Feng shared her concern for them. Liu Ying, however, reassured him that both Mu Ci and her father were broad-minded and would understand, adding that ultimately, the fake could never become real, particularly in the Demon Realm, and that not everyone could pass the rigorous heart-testing stone.
Meanwhile, Sui He was preparing for her wedding to Xu Feng. She mentally vowed to cure his Golden Elixir backlash after their marriage, even if it meant challenging the Heaven Realm. Her attendant praised her beauty and predicted her success with the "heart-testing stone," declaring her a perfect match for Xu Feng. Startled, Sui He inquired about this stone. Later, alone, she reflected on her actions, internally apologizing to Xu Feng.
She confessed her belief in their love but admitted that love, to her, could not withstand any test. As the auspicious time for the wedding approached, Kuang Lu attempted to persuade Jin Mi to prepare, but Jin Mi coldly refused, speaking ill of Run Yu. Suddenly, Yan You, having stealthily stolen Run Yu's merman tears during his brief sleep at dawn, arrived disguised as Run Yu. Jin Mi, already aware of his deception, scolded his poor acting.
Yan You, now in his true form, recounted the difficulty of his mission, explaining that Jin Mi’s lingering resentment had summoned him. Recognizing the urgency, Jin Mi urged him to quickly help her escape to the Floral Realm before Kuang Lu discovered the ruse. After a quick stop, Yan You, still in Run Yu’s guise, took Jin Mi to the Southern Heavenly Gate.
There, he greeted the Heaven guardians led by Po Jun, distributing red packets (which Jin Mi clarified were Floral Realm wedding gifts) and jovially ordered them to maintain high vigilance, especially against Demon Realm imposters who might assume his likeness. He even playfully pinched Jin Mi's arm when a guard looked suspicious, dismissing it as "bedroom fun."
Back at Xuanji Palace, the real Run Yu confronted his bewildered guards, furious that an imposter had used his merman tears and Red Clouds Sword to abscond with Jin Mi. Learning they had left a short while prior, he immediately gave chase. Meanwhile, in the Floral Realm, Jin Mi tearfully declared to the Floral Chiefs that she would not marry Run Yu, exposing his manipulative nature.
The shocked chiefs, realizing Run Yu's cunning surpassed even the late Heavenly Emperor's, vowed to protect Jin Mi. Her immediate concern was finding the Hairy Feather to cure Xu Feng's golden elixir backlash. Just then, a warning came: Run Yu and a multitude of Heaven guardians were swiftly approaching. The chiefs quickly orchestrated Jin Mi's escape through a back hall while they prepared to face Run Yu. Upon Run Yu's arrival, the chiefs questioned his aggressive intrusion.
Run Yu, shedding his gentle facade, stated he was there to retrieve Jin Mi for their wedding and invited them to witness it, feigning ignorance of her whereabouts but implying she was there to gather Hairy Feather for Xu Feng. He asserted that the Floral Realm had been Heaven Realm territory since ancient times and accused the chiefs of usurping authority, reminding them of their subordinate status.
He warned them that only Jin Mi's smooth ascension as Empress would guarantee the Floral Realm's continued peace. With a chilling resolve, he then ordered his Heaven guardians to search the entire Floral Realm. Jin Mi desperately searched for Hairy Feather but couldn't find any. Lian Qiao then casually revealed that her mother had picked all the Hairy Feather to make mutton dumplings for her. Devastated, Jin Mi realized the life-saving herb was gone.
Mr. Hu suggested she could plant a new one, but it would take half an hour. Just as Run Yu's forces were closing in, Yan You, who had confessed his inability to fully stop Run Yu, joined them. The Moon Immortal stepped forward, casting his powerful "Attached Love" (Qing Si Qian Quan Da Fa) spell, creating a formidable barrier.
He assured Jin Mi that even with Run Yu's power, it would hold him for at least three incense sticks' time, urging her to plant in peace. While Mr. Hu and other Floral Chiefs went to divert the Heaven guardians, Yan You remained to protect Jin Mi. He then offered a heartfelt apology, confessing he was the adopted son of Run Yu's biological mother, Lord Dongting.
He explained that out of gratitude to his foster mother, he had reluctantly aided her in her revenge against the Heavenly Empress, leading to manipulative acts against Jin Mi, including luring her to the Heaven Realm. He expressed profound remorse for the danger he put her in. Jin Mi, having matured through her own trials, forgave him, acknowledging that life wasn't simply black and white and that he would always remain her benefactor and friend.
As Run Yu relentlessly searched for Jin Mi, he found the Moon Immortal actively using magic to obstruct and confuse him. The Moon Immortal, sensing Run Yu's relentless pursuit, advised him to let go, asserting that "nothing forcibly done is going to be agreeable" and that "people's minds cannot stand manipulation." He stressed that Jin Mi's lack of love stemmed not from Run Yu's inferiority to Xu Feng, but from his constant scheming, which could never rival a pure heart.
He challenged Run Yu to consider if he had ever truly opened his heart to anyone. Run Yu retorted bitterly, explaining that his perilous past made sincerity a path to "eternal damnation." He lamented that no one had ever truly empathized with his predicament or supported him in his most helpless moments, declaring that therefore, no one had the right to "tell him what to do or judge him." Run Yu, after severely injuring the Moon Immortal, continued his search.
He then spotted Yan You supposedly "scolding" him to Jin Mi under a tree. Run Yu confronted Yan You, who, realizing the dire situation, immediately fled, claiming he had to prepare sacrificial offerings for his foster mother's upcoming death day. Run Yu then broke through the Moon Immortal’s barrier, intending to take Jin Mi away, only to discover she was Lian Qiao in disguise.
The real Jin Mi, with the newly planted Hairy Feather entrusted to Yan You, had already been whisked away to the Demon Realm by Yan You and the Moon Immortal. The Moon Immortal, exhausted from carrying her, remarked on her surprising weight. Back in the Floral Realm, Run Yu's search yielded no results. Enraged, he publicly declared the Floral Realm sealed and threatened to destroy one type of plant daily until Jin Mi returned. When a Floral Chief defiantly attempted to attack him, Run Yu swiftly subdued her, pronouncing her crime a capital offense and vowing that her punishment would commence the following day.
