Demon attendants in the Cave of Jiu Ying discovered an intruder and promptly reported it to Princess Sui He. The intruder was Jin Mi, who, with the help of Mr. Hu's Mortal Observation Mirror, navigated the vast and deep underground palace to find the entrance. Mr. Hu instructed her that the barrier at the entrance could only be broken by supreme yang fire or supreme yin water, and she would have only one hour inside.
Jin Mi swiftly broke the barrier and entered. Inside, Jin Mi located the Wall of Jiu Ying. Mr. Hu told her that the Jiu Ying Internal Dan was the red eye among the nine. Jin Mi, having lost her ability to distinguish colors, could not tell which eye was red. Mr. Hu grew anxious, reminding her that if she chose incorrectly, she would be consumed by Jiu Ying’s spirit.
Jin Mi rationally deduced that the Internal Dan, being Jiu Ying's most vital part, would elicit the strongest reaction when threatened. She focused on the most active eye and successfully retrieved the dan. As she fled, Jiu Ying's consciousness tried to confuse her by claiming the green one was the true Internal Dan, not the red one. After she escaped, Jin Mi told Mr. Hu she had taken the red Internal Dan, then wondered aloud if she had become colorblind.
What she held was actually green. Mr. Hu explained that her inability to distinguish colors had saved her, as the real Internal Dan was green, and the red one was a decoy that had claimed many lives. He tearfully lamented her sacrifice of her color vision for Xu Feng, but Jin Mi, seeing the world in black and white, found comfort in it, joking that it was a blessing in disguise as she was no longer afraid of sunlight.
As Jin Mi made her escape, Sui He intercepted her. Sui He had anticipated Jin Mi coming for the Internal Dan to save Yan You and vowed to kill her. Sui He then unleashed the Glazed Pure Fire, an act that immediately revealed her as the true killer of Jin Mi's father, Luo Lin, and Auntie Lin Xiu (Feng Immortal).
Sui He brazenly admitted to the murders and also revealed that she knew Jin Mi was the one who saved Xu Feng. She gloated that Xu Feng would never learn the truth, as he believed Sui He was his savior. Enraged, Jin Mi attacked Sui He to avenge her family. However, Sui He spotted Xu Feng approaching, quickly suppressed her Glazed Pure Fire, and pretended to be injured by Jin Mi.
Xu Feng rushed to Sui He’s side and pushed Jin Mi to the ground. He sternly warned Jin Mi that if she dared to harm Sui He, he would grind her bones to dust. Jin Mi tried to explain that Sui He wielded the Glazed Pure Fire and was the real murderer who had framed him, but Xu Feng refused to believe her. Believing Jin Mi was acting on Run Yu's orders, he gave her a final chance to leave.
Unwavering, Jin Mi again moved toward Sui He, only for Xu Feng to strike her down. His Phoenix Hairpin, which he had previously given to Jin Mi, activated to protect her. Dismayed by its apparent disloyalty, Xu Feng forcibly withdrew the hairpin from her. Meanwhile, having lost contact with Jin Mi, an anxious Mr. Hu had informed Run Yu of her perilous mission. Run Yu arrived just in time to rescue the weeping Jin Mi and take her away.
After they left, Sui He asked Xu Feng why he let them go, questioning if he still had feelings for Jin Mi. She then fabricated a story that she had come for the Jiu Ying Internal Dan to restore her own magic power, which she claimed was depleted from resurrecting him, only to be attacked by Jin Mi. She warned Xu Feng that Jin Mi and Run Yu would collaborate to harm him again.
Later, Yan You awoke and summoned the Moon Immortal and others. He recounted how Sui He had grievously wounded him with Glazed Pure Fire after he confronted her for usurping Jin Mi’s credit for saving Xu Feng. He had threatened to expose her, provoking Sui He to retaliate. Yan You only managed to escape by using Evil Ashes.
He also revealed a past incident from when he first became an immortal: Sui He, observing Fairy Qi Yao's flirtation with the Heavenly Emperor displeased the Heavenly Empress, so she orchestrated a scheme to frame both Yan You and Fairy Qi Yao for impropriety. This manipulation earned Sui He the Heavenly Empress's favor, leading to Yan You's demotion and Fairy Qi Yao's banishment, while securing Sui He's rise to leader of the Bird Clan.
Yan You confessed that he once deeply loved Sui He, and her cruel betrayal left him heartbroken. Jin Mi then confirmed that Sui He had personally admitted to killing her father and aunt. Realizing that Sui He was the true culprit and the third person capable of wielding Glazed Pure Fire, the Moon Immortal and Yan You urged Jin Mi to reconcile with Xu Feng. They warned that if the malicious Sui He became the Demon Empress, the Six Realms would face eternal unrest.
