Jin Mi joyfully received the newly refined Nine Golden Elixir from Lord Lao, knowing she could finally save Xu Feng. As she departed, Run Yu arrived at Lord Lao's palace, being informed by a servant that Jin Mi had just left with the elixir. Run Yu expressed his gratitude to Lord Lao, who in turn questioned how long the truth of Run Yu's own sacrifices for Jin Mi could be kept from her.
Crossing the Wangchuan River, Jin Mi was mistaken by the ferryman for another immortal woman who frequently visited the river's end. The ferryman described the woman's unique Sui Yu Shan, a peacock feather fan, which immediately made Jin Mi suspect it was Sui He. Jin Mi requested to be taken to the spot where this woman typically disembarks.
Upon arriving, she discovered Sui He’s weapon and fresh footprints, prompting her to wonder about Sui He’s activities and their potential connection to Xu Feng. Meanwhile, Sui He was conversing with the King of Bian City, thanking him for providing Yu Abyss as a hiding place for Xu Feng.
She claimed that due to the current Heavenly Emperor's shrewdness, she couldn't obtain the Nine Golden Elixir from Lord Lao and had been using her own magic power to preserve Xu Feng's soul. The King of Bian City praised her devotion, and although Sui He admitted to feeling an unusual apprehension that day, he reassured her that Yu Abyss's foreboding nature and protective ward made it an unlikely place for intruders.
Jin Mi soon reached Xu Feng's form, a mere wisp of soul. Seeing him, she was both happy and heartbroken, quickly administering the Nine Golden Elixir she painstakingly acquired. Xu Feng underwent Nirvana, his rebirth as a phoenix heralded by a cry that resonated across all six realms. As he began to stir, Jin Mi, elated but unable to face him, transformed into a butterfly and concealed herself.
Concurrently, the King of Bian City attempted to convince his daughter, Liu Ying, to abandon her plans to lead the Demon Realm into war, explaining that such a conflict instigated by King of Gu City would only result in mutual destruction and severely weaken the Demon Realm. Despite Liu Ying's initial resolve, he finally revealed that Xu Feng was still alive.
He explained that during the Heaven Realm's rebellion, Sui He saved a single wisp of Xu Feng’s soul using the Phoenix Hairpin and asked him to conceal it within the Demon Realm, specifically in Yu Abyss. The King of Bian City clarified that he withheld this information from Liu Ying out of concern for her safety, given the Heavenly Emperor's accusation of rebellion against Xu Feng and King of Gu City's enmity.
Overjoyed that Xu Feng had a chance at survival, Liu Ying apologized to her father for her earlier misunderstanding and praised his courage for harboring the Fire Immortal. Reassured, she agreed to withdraw from the impending battle. Xu Feng awakened to find Sui He beside him and asked what transpired. Sui He immediately began to weave a web of lies, claiming she had spent years in Yu Abyss, consuming vast amounts of her magic power to keep his soul intact.
She further asserted that she stole the Nine Golden Elixir from the Heaven Realm to complete his revival. She recounted the events of the past six months: Jin Mi’s betrayal and murder, the late Heavenly Emperor’s death after expending his cultivation to preserve Xu Feng’s soul within the Phoenix Hairpin and entrusting it to her, Run Yu’s ascension to the throne, and his alleged role in hounding their Auntie to death.
Overwhelmed by this deluge of tragic news, Xu Feng was plunged into despair, regretting that he was ever brought back. Sui He, however, insisted her efforts were worthwhile. Observing this from a distance, Jin Mi, transformed back into her true self outside the cave, was overcome with guilt and sorrow, feeling utterly unworthy to face Xu Feng. She wished him only peace and happiness.
Upon witnessing the celestial phenomenon of the phoenix's Nirvana, King of Gu City immediately mobilized his forces to scour the Demon Realm for Xu Feng. Informed of this imminent threat, the King of Bian City quickly dispatched Liu Ying and Mu Ci to Yu Abyss, instructing them to escort Xu Feng away via a secret passage. He vowed to confront and delay King of Gu City himself, while Liu Ying expressed concern for her father's safety before departing.
As they approached the vicinity of the secret passage, Liu Ying noticed Mu Ci's visible hesitation. He confessed that he was once thrown into Yu Abyss by King of Gu City, where he was attacked by vengeful spirits and nearly died. It was there that his Black Eyes were activated, allowing him to repel the spirits and discover this very secret passage, which he used to escape.
Returning to such a place, he admitted, brought back painful memories and a lingering sense of dread. Liu Ying apologized for inadvertently making him revisit his trauma. Mu Ci reassured her it was fine, affirming his commitment to protect her. Soon after, they encountered Sui He. Liu Ying, still bearing a grudge against Sui He for past wrongs related to Mu Ci, was momentarily distracted, but Sui He quickly refocused them on the immediate threat.
They then found Xu Feng, and Liu Ying quickly informed him that King of Gu City was aware of his revival and was leading an army to encircle and kill him, urging him to escape with them through the secret passage as per her father's instructions. Back in Xuanji Palace, Jin Mi was discovered with severe injuries.
An immortal diagnosed her wounds as caused by Nether Fire, which damages the primordial spirit, and advised a minimum of six months for recovery. Run Yu, deeply distressed by her condition, questioned when she would cease harming herself. He later approached her bedside and heard her softly murmuring Xu Feng’s name, realizing she successfully revived him. He quietly remarked that she had won and wondered if she was satisfied, as Jin Mi whispered an apology to Xu Feng.
Since the phoenix's Nirvana, the Demon Lord had been relentlessly searching for Xu Feng. To keep him safe, the King of Bian City continued to hide Xu Feng. He inquired about Xu Feng's plans, as Xu Feng admitted he felt utterly lost and uncertain of his path in the vast six realms, regretting being a burden to the King of Bian City.
The King of Bian City, noting the Demon Realm's constant internal strife, its subjugation to the Heaven Realm, and King of Gu City's corrupt leadership, proposed that Xu Feng take on the mantle of Demon Lord. He suggested Xu Feng receive the ritual blood from the Great Elder, King of Qing City, to officially join the demon tribe, and then lead the Demon Realm to challenge the Heaven Realm, hinting at a path for revenge.
However, Xu Feng respectfully declined the offer. He stated that the Heaven and Demon Realms were inherently different, and he could not betray his former home or raise arms against his kin.
Liu Ying expressed her frustration at his stubbornness, but the King of Bian City intervened, explaining that as the former God of War, it was natural for Xu Feng to struggle with the idea of turning against his birthplace, especially after enduring the loss of his parents, his brother's betrayal, and his beloved's actions.
Liu Ying and Mu Ci were seen together, with Mu Ci playfully chiding Liu Ying for constantly mentioning Xu Feng and implying she cared for Xu Feng more than him. Liu Ying playfully retorted that he was ungrateful, then teased him for being jealous. She playfully demanded that he carry her, expressing her desire to spend her life with him. He consented, cautioning her not to choke him.
Shortly after, Liu Ying noticed Mu Ci had a nosebleed and asked how long this had been occurring. Mu Ci tried to brush it off as a minor issue due to dry weather, but Liu Ying, recognizing the severity of his condition, was overcome with sadness and began to cry. Mu Ci, however, gently reminded her of her status as a princess and asked her to promise that they would spend the remainder of his days, however long, happily together.
Xu Feng dreamed of his deceased parents, who lovingly urged him to live on. He awakened in tears, heartbroken by their absence and the immense pain of being left alone in the world, unsure how to cope. He secretly ventured back to the Heaven Realm, where he found the phoenix tree withered, a sight that triggered a flood of memories of his past with Jin Mi.
Later, a servant reported to Run Yu that the protective ward around Xianxian Hall had been inexplicably broken. Given that only the Heavenly Emperor could breach it, Run Yu immediately realized that Xu Feng had returned to the Heaven Realm. He then spoke to himself, as if to Xu Feng, saying there's no need to search further.
